I've ducked into this thread a couple times - I haven't seen any news on this and I don't do FB or twitter or any of the SM crap because most of the time it is just that - crap.

So questions.

[1] Trump had approval for his own photographer to be there and snap. Did he have approval to then do video (it sounded somewhere like there was video in addition to pics) ?? Did he have express written consent to use the material in his presidential campaigning?

[2] Where was the pics/video used and aired? Was it expressly 'campaign' stuff - blanket SM posts etc? Or was it a one time thing on Trump's own FB page? While you can argue that his own FB page is "campaigning" - I think you can say there is a clear difference between campaign messaging that gets repeated several times a day/week. Can be advertising. etc - versus a single FB post honoring or showing respect.

[3] The seemingly inapproriate "whatabout Obama" angle - who took his pic? Where was it used/posted? Was it a single one time post type thing - or was it used by him or others to promotoe and "campaign".


From what I can gleam from the thread. Points 1 and 2 I am not at all sure about. Point 3 it seems probable that Obama's photo wasn't his team or personal photographer. It wasn't ever considered in any format a means of using the pic as a campaign initiative or leverage previously ... it's only been brought up now beacause it exisats .... and it SOUNDS like the two cases are NOTHING alike other than the Trump defenders what to deflect.


I guess in an alternate line of questioning: Other than the fact that there is a single pic of Obama in Arlington - what ways are the photos and the ways they have been promoted the same and in what ways are they different? .... And does it matter?
