So Savage went after and signed a Tight End coach with the express purpose of tying their star to him?

Call me crazy, but I believe they signed the Tight End coach believing that with his OC experience in Miami and his additonal experience as a coach in the NFL, along with his personality, character and offensive philosophy he would make a good NFL offensive coordinator.

But that's just me and you know how crazy and out-of-the-box I think sometimes.

I should have said IMHO the browns should tie their star to Chud but consider the following.

If the brown werent impressed big time with Chud (the TE coach as you referred to him) why would they bring him in at all?

Going into the last off-season season, Phil had the following dilemmas....

A team with offensive talent that was being hampered in their development by one of his own picks.

A coach who for all intensive purposes was a lame duck coach if he couldnt be at or near the 500 mark.

A general need to give the fans ANYTHING

So.....Phil Savage (before FA & the draft) signs a "TE coach" to come in and run the offense in the most critical year of his whole entire tenure. If that doesnt speak volumes as to what Savage thinks of the guy.......well you might be crazy.;)

It sure as hell wasnt RAC's decision, in fact niether was the decision to dump Frye and bring in Anderson.

Your not crazy at all....but if you objectively look at where we are at this present time you have to see that we have a long ways to go before we can seriously talk about making a run. Chud has been made the single biggest difference in the teams performance since Phil took over. When it comes down to making hard decisions about the future that is going to be hard to overlook.

When this team has been built as a serious contender with a rock solid foundation and RAC displays the inability to get them over the hump and the players stop listening to him, then he will be replaced for someone with a proven track record.

Hopefully it won't be at a time when we have over-extended ourselves financially or bring in an ego-maniac and have to rebuild all over again.

Next year, mid-season, RAC will have reached the average life-span of a Browns head coach.
