It’ll always be American Pie for me, but that’s a beautiful song, as well. Used to have the album. Everybody Loves Me, Baby is also a great song from the record. Written about Nixon.
Post up a song that mentions the city in which you reside or the closest city. There are a lot of great songs that mention cities. If it is somewhat obscure, tell us, Johnny Cash did a remake of "I've Been Everywhere" that mentions maybe 100 cities.
I live in Chattanooga. I could post up a bunch of songs that mention it, but this is the classic. In the day Chattanooga was the rail hub to the south from the north, Atlanta, Macon, Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, New Orleans, the Florida pan, Houston, it all connected through Chattanooga.
I passed on the Glenn Miller original, with apologies to the great Mr. Miller and posted a good to the original but more modern vid.
And yes, my wife and I have had dinner on the diner a few times. Not the best, but the historic value added to the ambiance when staying on one of the sleeper cars for a special occasion.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
That would have been a good one. Joe and the Gang were well known, the Pie was good but had what was then a budding superstar in Peter Frampton on guitar.

It made for a GREAT show! They even had a third band which was more of a one hit wonder. Even they were better than I expected them to be. Some will remember this one.....
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
LOL....can't say I ever heard that one. I hope to forget that one. Not sure what Babe Ruth was looking for....seemed to be part Chicago, Janice Joplin, and some Funk band.
At least to my ear, it wasn't very pleasing. It was somewhat entertaining watching the singer jumping around like a baboon.

Seemed like maybe a lot of drugs floating around there .......
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

That's exactly what was happening when some people wrote the best music of their careers. Ala Aerosmith..... The Rolling Stones.... The Beatles and the list goes on. Sadly it's also cost many lives. Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix and more.

However, not every person has hit their creative apex while on drugs.
Many wind up living on the streets in San Francisco. (or elsewhere)

I didn't say that. But many have. What seemed to be happening was that you were painting it with a broad brush when it's not as clear as that. What you seem to be claiming now is that there are two sides to it. The very same thing I gave examples of in my post. Some it inspired to write and create great music. The other extreme is it cost many their life. I thought that was a rather realistic approach.
