"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

The Browns get fleeced again.

The Browns get fleeced again. I don't think so. We tend to over value trade compensation.

yeah it's a fair trade IMO. Z is basically a 9 game rental

Another year and What a surprise! The Steelers and Ravens are headed to the playoffs, are buyers at the trade deadline, and have given their fans something to look forward to every Sunday.
Meanwhile, here we are yet again. Sellers at the trade deadline, pathetic 2-7 record, no quarterback and no room to sign anyone of significance in the offseason.
Browns fans deserve better.
I liked Zadarius and thought that he was a great complement to Myles.
This is unacceptable and pathetic.

The Browns get fleeced again. You're always hoping for more, but he's an aging vet on a 1 year deal (the 2nd 1-year deal he's gotten from us). We originally acquired him in 2023 (and a 2025 6th and 2025 7th rounder) from the Vikings for 2 5th-rounders (2024 and 2025). https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/browns-acquire-pro-bowl-zadarius-smith-in-trade-with-vikingsIMO, it sounds like we kinda broke even. We essentially gave up 2 5ths to get him, and we're getting a 5th back after 1.5 years. Would've been nice to get better but we're sellers and the trade deadline is here.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Why can't the Browns seem to ever make impactful trades like the Ravens always seems to do. Case in point, Henry this year.

That's actually kind of disappointing.

Trade the whole team at this point. Unreal, absolutely, unbelievable that these idiots traded for DW and want that trade has done to this team. The worst part: Two more years of paying him north of 70 million and what that does to our cap.
I apologize for sounding like a broken record but there are 4th graders that wouldn’t have made this trade.

We should have traded Newsome ...... for anything.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

I was hoping for a 4th for Za'Darius. Detroit really needed him and he's still a good player. I would think because he's on a one year deal we just got whatever we could.

That's actually kind of disappointing. Indeed! So much for being serious about a 'tear-down'. I guess the FO believes that we are close to being a contender. Really?

I honestly believe that we are only a good solid QB away from being one of the best teams in the league. JW played like an elite QB for one game (minus the dropped INT's) and look what happened. If we had Joe Flacco here or even a Kirk Cousins, this team would be a serious contender. Good QB play has a positive impact on the rest of the team as does bad play having negative impact. Problem as everyone knows, we can't find a decent QB and with our situation I don't know that we can.

After looking at that list maybe we should just install the Wing-T on O and run it every play!!! At least we won’t have to worry about interceptions 😂

I'm surprised we didnt trade Newsome. He'll be gone at the end of the year

That's the question I had after they traded Cooper. They answered that question as you so aptly pointed out.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Not being able to make a trade and not being willing to trade are two different animals.
Defining a tear-down is like defining a FQB.
I doubt any "core" guys were being shopped...I believe many other guys WERE shopped with no takers...or no reasonable takers.
Z Smith and Cooper were expensive - even if 'worth' it - and were unlikely to see their contract $$$ in '25...and each with a younger, cheaper, promising guy(s) behind them.
Conklin and Thornhill contracts are poison. I can't imagine getting a cookie for Wills. Was hoping we'd get a cookie for Q Jefferson.
Very disappointed we couldn't move Newsome and his celebrations after giving up 8 yards on first down. He - like Cooper and Z - has a couple young guys behind him that we need to see if/how they fit...Mitchell, Hailassie and Harden (rookie on IR). Same with E Moore as I'd like to see Thrash get some legit run before we go into the off-season.
There really weren't/aren't any other guys we'd be willing to move AND were desired in a trade that would return more than that cookie.
