The Cavs victory Frog has become legendary in short order. Love the comments from Jarrett Allen after tonight's game.

I know we aren't going to finish the season 82-0, but I really don't want our first loss to be to the Celtics

yeah for sure. Boston game I think is the biggest one of the year.. It will really legitimize our success so far. If we come out and mop the floor with them, the NBA will be on notice. I think crazily enough, if we do with that one, we might get up there around GS 2016 season. Last year, Mitchell couldn't take games off without a serious risk to losing.. we doubled down and just pounded them the first half. Ty Jerome.. man what a godsend he's been. Now we see why they kept him on the roster despite being injured the whole year. Kudos to Altman on that one. This team is everything we want the browns to be, talented, well coached, easy to root for, and seem to be just having the best time playing for each other. Thats a culture. Thats what's missing from that abortion of a football team

Please correct me if I'm wrong (I don't really follow basketball very closely), but Cavs are a testament to what a good coaching change can do for a team.

I'm not on the "Fire AB/KS" bandwagon, but looking at what the Cavs are accomplishing does make one think.

yep, the only thing that has changed was coaching

I am really excited to watch the Cav's/Celtics game tonight.

Normally I don't care about basketball til the playoffs. But now with Browns season being over. It is nice to have the Cav's playing so well.

I saw a part of one game. I am not a basketball expert. Just a casual fan. But I like the type of BB the Cav's are playing.

Lots of passing and ball movement. They really look like a together team.

They can "spread the dread" can the Celtics. Fan out and fire. Hope we hustle the floor and pound the paint. Getting them in foul grief is your friend. Our "one pass and throw a trey at the ring" kills leads. Defense!

"For The Land!" Go, Cavs!

Completely outclassed tonight. Very disappointing it seems like our run was a house of cards. Their star players playing like stars and our do what they did last year. Get owned. Mitchell only one doing anything on offense and no one doing anything at all on defense. Better figure out or this will be a 20+ loss and we will be right back to being among the rest of league. Defense has been a bit of a problem all season. Can’t defend the 3

well, the Cavs were undermanned and the Celtics were red hot ... bad combo (and we still only lost be a few points) - encouraging 2nd half IMO

2nd half showed a lot of grit but man garland has start showing up. Mitchell and Mobley carried the team but this perimeter defense is an issue. We don’t have the personnel to match up outside when we play our bigs together. The first loss is out of the way. Regroup and start another streak. I hate we lost to Boston

I'm not disheartened or disappointed in this loss. Boston is really, really good and are so tough to defend on the perimeter. I expect Boston to repeat this year, but I absolutely want to see the Cavs play them in the ECF and push them. Boston shot seven fewer threes than their average.

Something to be said about the Cavs comeback and not throwing in the towel.

Cavs poised for Championship runs in 25'-26' and 26'-27' after Boston has to break up the band for cap/luxury tax reasons.

Cavs w/o Levert, Okoro and Wade tonight. Strus still coming back

Boston missing Porzingis. A major weapon, when healthy.

Cavs are well positioned for the futute. However, NBA Cup is now in peril! willynilly

Oh what could have been had Garland hit just 30% of his shots tonight, he just chokes against the better teams.

Bombs away.

Celtics were hot from the three point line and Cav's were not hot there.

That was the game. They were home on two days rest.

It's November.

The Cav's can play them.

meh.. wnba is not a good watch.. the talent pool is very diluted already, adding another team makes it more so.

The WNBA is only good if you have Caitlin Clark lol - or if she visits your city

I agree. I was actually kind of encouraged by how we came roaring back and gave them all they could handle at home and well rested. This team looks resilient and suddenly deep. We were going to lose at some point and against the defending champs in their house in a tight finish is perfectly reasonable as a first L. Gives us some fire for the next time.

I’ve now watched like 4-5 WNBA games this year (after watching zero before) and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It’s a different game, like how women’s and men’s tennis is different but both are totally watchable. I don’t watch a ton of basketball anyway, a half here and there, full games when the cavs are on in my market (NY), and the playoffs. But I’m now more likely to watch a WNBA game than a host of other B and C level men’s sports if nothing else is on. It’s slower and less acrobatic, more old school.

Cavs get back on the winning track with 4 or 5 players out.

Your leading scorers tonight:

Jerome (29 pts)
Allen (16 pts)
Tyson (16pts)
Mitchell (10 pts)
Mobely (9 Pts)

Easy win on a B2B. Did not have to push starters to get the win. The perfect November "keep your team fresh" game.

good bounce back win. such a great feeling basically knowing we can beat 50% of the teams without trying

And with just more than 2/3 of the team .......

We were misssing Garland, Okoro, LaVert, Wade, Merrill, and of course, we have been missing Strus all season. That's a lot of shooting/scoring to miss for one game.

I fit the definition of casual NBA fan. I don't watch much basketball.

I watch some of a game here and there. When playoffs begin I watch a little more if the Cavs are in it.

I watched the Cavs/Celtic game. You all who are NBA fans tell what is going on.

It seems like the games are 3 point contests. Bombs away. Down the court try to find an open three. If not shoot a contested three.

I do see much in plays around the bucket.

Am I wrong?

cavs losing to a garbage team after that much time off is inexcusable, starting to see the same cast of characters as last year. We defend the 3 worse than anyone right now and its a cause for concern. Garland still can't show up when it matters.. I put majority of the Boston loss on him, I cannot express how much I hate Niang, easily the worst nba player of my lifetime on the cavs. He looks like they picked up a dude at the Y to fill out the roster, he should not be taking minutes from Tyson. We need a legit 3 desperately for teams that can go small, and pull our bigs out to the perimeter. I was against bringing okoro back because he for all purposes has been a bust. He hasn't done anything this year to change that opinion. He would be a decent defense guy but thats it, Hes not a starting 3 in this league by any stretch. I know we aren't going to win 82 but we have to be better on defense, we are getting worse as a trend as teams figure out KA's rotations and what we want to do, its a 3 ball league and thats our weakest area, we have to figure that out, our bigs are just to slow switching out in zone to get out to defend, we have to mitigate their concrete feet, whether thats switching to a 3-2 or try something like a switch and scramble.. too many open shooters right now. Teams like Atlanta with all their 3 shooters we should have been aggressive with a box and one to try to isolate them.. we did nothing, we just plays standard drop coverage against the pnr, which is fine if they are missing because it will setup our rebounding but if they aren't rotating fast enough theres going to be a ton of open shots. Horrible game. When you lets teams shoot damn near 50% from 3, you aren't winning many. Play them again friday, we'll see if theres changes made. But I don't want to watch us struggle with lottery teams like atlanta.

Cavs look like they ate their Thanksgiving dinner before the game tonight.

yeah that was the worst they've played all year. On to the next

Then Haks ate the Cavs' lunch. We got into bad habits we showed in the past. Shooting 3's badly and kept throwing them at backboard. We abandoned the paint, though we had success indoors a bunch when wed tried. Two seven footers, sometimes at the same time, so we go to lobbing three's, of course, while watching leads disappear. We refuse to defend the three and look the worst in the NBA defending the arc IMO. We also played lazy and slow, lazy getting back, slow to get into our half-court offense. Stragglers late while their defense hustled back. Niang shoots too much, often missing three's. Winning Cavs didn't do these things on streak. Rotation was odd and minutes were off. Play fewer players longer, the better ones. We seem to have a premium on a parade rotation. Some should see fewer minutes. Last night was awful. Lost track of what works.
