how do we still have 4 more games

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Why are we still playing Jamison Winston? We need to see Zappe to make a decision on the next draft. Are the same decision makers about Watson making this decision?

- The Lord doth not smile on Jameis. He is what he's always been.

- The Browns signed Toney to the active roster and he manages to get a taunting penalty called on him on a fair catch and fumbles a punt. Symbolic of this entire season and franchise.

- Martin Emerson continues to get taken to the woodshed.

- A sweep on 4th and a foot.

- Hopkins is toast. Bad look for Berry and his laser eyes giving him that extension when he had a year left on his deal.

- Nine penalties.

- Lots of holes on this roster with very players that show growth and promise.

Go Cavs!

How many of those comments are a direct reflection of the GM and coaching? Most/All ....

The sweep on 4th down against a D that cealry has a ton of speed was the last straw. I laughed and left the room.

You serious? NE got rid of Zappe because he sucks, the NFL has seen enough of Zappe because he sucks, he can't crack past DTR in practice because he sucks, so why do we need to see him?

next year's QB can't be on the roster. Winston is the exact same QB he's always been - that isn't changing

Who was the better Tampa to Browns interception machine? Winston or Testaverde?

It's not all on Winston today, but a good amount is.

Having a better field goal kicker changes the complexion of the game. We may not go for it on that 4th and 1 in our own territory which resulted in one of the dumbest 4th and 1 calls I've ever seen with running Ford wide. Should have challenged that spot and ran a sneak. But in the grande scheme it didn't matter much. We got our rear ends handed to us in Pittsburgh yet again.

Just tank it the rest of the way, put Zappe in to please some of the fans and watch him fall flat on his face. At least he'll get us closer to the #1 pick.

Last year Hopkins was money in the bank. The D was ranked at the top of the league. This year???? How can things have gotten so bad in such a short time?

Hopkins is a good kicker, just not this year, and his misses changed everything. Momentum, scoreboard, mindset. I’m not worried about him next year, there’s already enough to worry about. He’s got the yips and has me calling him all sorts of bad names, but he’ll be better. It should have been 13-13 in the third quarter. For god sake, make a kick.

I thought Ford ran as hard today than I’ve ever seen him run, nice kickoff return.

We made a bunch of mistakes today; penalties, Toney being a goof when he’s a bubble player, the 4th and run sweep was a bad play call, Winston’s second INT was a bad decision in that situation. So was his first.

Steelers were better but we helped them.

I'm really unsure about Hopkins, I think he's shot. Once a guy gets the yips like this it seems he never shakes them and is done. Those were routine, short kicks that should be made 100% of the time in this day and age.

This season and this roster is why I think there will be changes made, You brought back the same staff for the most part, all the same players on both sides, no major injury bug, yet it looks like every single player has taken two steps back. We've been playing this game for almost 5 years now, thats plenty of time to take a step forward. We are up and down, up and down. Berry has been one of the worst GM's we've ever had, I don't care that he's younger and seems like he's a nice guy.. He sucks as a talent evaluator, sucks as a draft director, sucks at cap management, has handed out some doozy contracts, kept guys way longer than should have, careless with picks. Its time to blow it up. we have the most expensive roster in the NFL, we have the 5th oldest roster in the NFL and what do we have to show for it. This isn't about being a Berry hater, he is what he is, I have nothing against him personally, I just think he was a DEI hire with no real accomplishments and shouldn't have been put in the position he was. The other part of that is another guy with ZERO accomplishments in the NFL in Depodesta being involved at all is a travesty, having the power he holds in the decision making process and Org strategy is just untenable. I mean if you're going to play moneyball and want a guy who doesn't know anything about the NFL, just go get the guy who came up with moneyball in beane, atleast he's been in the chair

We lost the best O-line coach in the NFL
Stump Mitchell was replaced with Duce Staley.
Tc McCartney was replaced by Tommy Rees
We Lost Scott Peters our assistant O-line coach

GEEZ New offensive cordinator
New guy calling plays
New O-line coach
New assistant o-line coach
New RB coach
New TE coach
New DL coach
New Offensive Assistant/Run Game Specialist Nick Charlton

Yep sure looks like the same old staff rolleyes

Time to really take a cold hard look at the players on this roster.

There are players that are not as good as we may have thought.

Berry needs to have a great off season. The roster will change by over a third.

The new players have to be a significant improvement if we are going to compete.

Ford is a below average back.

Nick may or may not improve next year. We have to be able to run the ball better.

The OL needs to improve.

The secondary is not as good as they are promoted to be outside of Ward.

The elephant of course is the quarterback.

Some good some bad but in the end, a loss.

Winston is fun to watch until he isn't. Not exactly sure what causes him to throw all those picks...

Hopkins - it was fun while it lasted.

Winston - this is why he's a backup. I do hope we keep him around next year. He's better than Watson and he'll be cheap.

Toney - lol

I understand wanting to take big swings on low floor/high ceiling guys, but I really hope we don't see Toney again.

This team's lack of accountability has (maybe) never been more highlighted than the act of running Toney back out there after he managed to get a taunting penalty on a fair catch.

From whoever decided to sign him...to whoever decided to make him active on gameday...to whoever ran him back out there...to Toney himself.

It's not even a clown show.

Everything has just seemed disjointed since August - no cohesion, no consistency, too many penalties, mistakes, injuries ... not to mention an aging OL, regressing secondary, and Chubb/Njoku obviously not what they once were

The only bright spot IMO has been the WR corps since Watson went down

I decided to watch Seven Samurai for those 3.5 hours instead. After that was finished, I took about 30 minutes to scan through the game. Even that was too long. They're starting to lose my interest and care, which is very sad as a fan for nearly 40 years of my life.

youre the biggest homer on this board, sorry your opinions are never objective.. and yes, the staff is the same.. same GM, same HC same DC so taking steps back because those positional coaches don't matter either or don't reflect on this staff ability to identify talent.. gtfo with that bs..and no...we do not have worse injuries this year than last year sorry.. You know what, nvm I have you on ignore for a reason. but I will say as far as the opening eyes... try it sometime... as a btw... give me 3 players Berry has brought in in 5 years that have made a POSITIVE impact... i'll wait.

So you're saying swapping out the OC and then changing it up so that he's calling plays... after your starting QB goes down that you tried to Frankenstein an offense around... is "the same" as last year?

Dude... that alone is totally bogus... and it doesn't even take into account the injuries we had on the Oline to start the year (we're now on the 2nd backup LT), coaching turnover for the same Oline.

And the EXACT reason he needs to go. But he won't and the Browns will continue to suck until the change is made. Honestly Haslam is completely incompetent as an owner. Just build your stadium and hopefully season ticket holders will wise up and stop spending their hard earned money on your garbage product. An empty stadium is the only thing Haslam deserves at this point. I know he doesn't care but it would be nice to see.

I think Hop is done. Replace him. What is his sub gonna do? Miss a kick, cost us a game? Snakebit, and not mentally tough enough to get back on the horse. Or cut him and stop going for PAT's the rest off the season.
