Sadly nothing about that surprises me. We both know there are a pretty good sized segment of trump supporters that use racial slurs as their go to. My two cents: I don’t think Trump cares about the H1B policy. Not one bit. I think it’s a topic where he just wants to pick the course that will keep him on top.

Problem now is he has his “unwavering base” in conflict with his largest donor who has merited the #PresidentMusk hashtag…a person who has also acted like a megaphone across social media for him as well.

I guess we’ll see how “actual leadership” comes into play on navigating this burgeoning fight.

We often hear people say "But that's not what he meant" and "You're taking him out of context". Or "He was joking". But the reality is it's not so much how people on the outside of his supporters take it. As we can see from this it's how his actual supporters take it. And once again it's not all of them.

When he said "Stand back and stand by" the people he wanted to get that message across to took that as him wanting them to be ready and willing at any moment. When he said, "There are good people on both sides" many of those like were at Charlottesville took that as his approval of their actions.

Now the consequences of his own words are helping divide his own party.

The thing about it is that Bannon and Loomer have to be on the losing end, at least for now. Musk has too much momentum with Trump for the time being.

MAGA die-hard and racist conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer went on a rant on X (formerly Twitter) today, reading Elon Musk for filth after alleging that he's using his social media app to punish her and other critics.

What has been dubbed the "MAGA Civil War" started earlier this week when far-right activists and tech oligarchs started clashing online over Musk's support of a skilled-worker immigration program that has been funneling employees into tech companies for years.

Loomer took to X to rail against Musk and his DOGE co-chair Vivek Ramaswamy for supporting H-1B visas and denigrating American workers and is now alleging that Musk removed her blue check mark on the social media site and has been censoring her in retaliation for her outspoken opposition to him.

"[Musk] has removed my blue check mark on X because I dared to question his support for H1B visas, the replacement of American tech workers by Indian immigrants, and I questioned his relationship with China," Loomer posted on Thursday night.

She has continued posting about the incident, with her and Musk exchanging barbs, with Loomer writing that the Tesla owner "bought your way into MAGA 5 minutes ago" and that he's going to "jeopardize our national security by selling out to China and replacing American workers with foreigners."

While her xenophobia is definitely showing, we love seeing Musk cut down to size. Listen, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Musk hasn't responded directly to Loomer, but that hasn't stopped him from clarifying his stance by calling her a troll and posting about how violating x's policies will lead to an account being muted or blocked.

Nobody except the far right is against granting temporary visas to a pool of smart, qualified, vetted immigrants for the purpose of filling advanced positions and remaining competitive in the global market. As far as H1B stuff goes, his last administration instituted policies which increased the denial rate of H1B visa bans, and he I believe had an outright suspension against H1B visas in 2020, although my recollection isn’t exactly clear as to how much COVID was cited as rationale for that outright ban.
