Enough that it's the cause of the outcome of the election. And all that other nonsense like "the people gave him a mandate" is nonsense.

That was the single most overriding issue as to why people voted fro trump. It was the overriding factor in the result of the election. And just think, we stared out having an actual discussion until you decided to join back up with the WWE tag team again. But that's par for the course.

That wouldn't be par for the course if you could spend five minutes out of the sand traps.

You're trying to generalize how Trump won by saying it was all the moderates and their only real concern was the economy.

And the mandate? The mandate comes form the evidence that also serves to obliterate your over-simplistic generalization.

Trump tore more democrats from your party than any other candidate in history not named Reagan. And the amount of Blacks and Hispanics he swiped mimic having a cheat code for a video game -- that's where the real "mandate" comes from.

And since it seems evident that your party will continue to sweep that under the rug, you will wander the desert for at least 12 more years.

I had no idea that the economy didn't impact blacks and Hispanics. Thanks for helping bolster my point.

Let facts be your friend.....

Record voter gains among Latinos for Trump mainly boiled down to their top issue — the economy

You pointed out how many black and Hispanic voters trump got. I have shown you why he got them. Which I've been saying is the overwhelming reason he won the election. Once again thanks for bolstering my point.

Most voters will vote for the economy above all else. It's always been that way and it knows no color barrier. It was an economic mandate. You certaibly didn't say that.

That's not just it, though it might have been a large factor. There were other issues people voted about, or issues that kept them home.

how many people do you think voted for Greenland being purchased by the U.S.?

Horrible attempt at a straw argument. You are usually better at it than that. Come on bro.

but it isn't. its a fair point. you are seeing it right now in the immigration debate going on. MAGA saying they didn't vote for president Elon, right? what part of purchasing Greenland helps with groceries or lowers the deficit?

I blamed him for his handling of covid. I, nor anyone else I know of blamed him for Covid happening. The same goes for the economy. Just like covid, inflation after covid was global. The U.S. had an economic recovery after that which happened much faster than most other nations. You are obviously having memory issues on this one.

no one did. bro, that's the point. Trump is focused on everything BUT that. he's got tough talk against US allies, yet is already making excuses for grocery prices and other domestic issues.

not very American First.

Trump has a lot to say about a lot. I don't attempt to keep up with it. It's more about what the Congress sends to his desk. I'm in a wait and see mode while wishing there had been more Dawglover05 write ins.

I keep up with it because it's all over the news. kinda unavoidable.

just saying Frank, with everything else that has happened, Trump is going into this 2nd term more chaotic than his 1st, and this chaos can't be blamed on anyone but him.

Some better than others.

Yet, here in the u.s. (and on this board) Trump took the blame for a brand new pandemic

Once again, no he did not. He took the blame for questioning the vaccine. He took the blame for undermining Faucci and the experts on such diseases that spent their life studying them. He took the blame for the slow response to having masks and needed equipment being produced to combat the virus. He took the blame for sending Russia equipment that was much needed here.

It's odd how countries that listened to the health experts and acted accordingly did better than we did. If you mean they didn't know how to stop covid you would be correct. Excusing the crazy things he said is in the middle of a pandemic is a you issue.

And trying to compare these two things isn't even close to reality.

But I've done enough to help you derail a thread about the promises trump made in the 2024 election.

That's the only way you can ignore the reality of it. Pick the parts you think are good and ignore the rest. Then when someone else points it out, ignore that too. Just brush it off.

What congress sends him will have nothing to do with the far reaching executive orders he will write and sign. You'll see that the first week after he takes office.

All on the left droned on about "great job numbers, payrolls increasing, the stock market booming"

I just checked: seven months ago you were still parrotting your brain-dead media and saying economic hardship was not Biden's fault and it's never the fault of the president in charge but rather his predicessors. You and yours were still blaming it all on Trump.

That same thread has you poo-pooing Trump's earlier claim that blue-collar wages were rising fast. An indisputable fact, but one that you linked to an article about state minimum wage hikes being the sole factor. Ironically, this very day, you act like those don't exist when trying to make a point about federal minimum wage. You play Whack-a-mole with any given talking point and act like you don't leave a trail of crumbs behind you. We all see it -- it's all here to read.

You told us mortage rates dropping to a mere 7% was good, and signs that the economy was fine. You told us inflation dropping .5% after raising 9% was going to make this all better and Biden deserved credit for helping to rescue the economy. You blamed every economic woe on corporations, price-gouging and Trump's corporate tax cuts. You posted new links every time the stock market closed at an all-time high.

On and on and on... "great job numbers, payrolls increasing, the stock market booming". And that wasn't just you, that was your entire party and media.

Thinking that mass exodus of Blacks and Latinos was only about the price of bread and ignoring the fact that it was yet another cycle of them being pat on the head and told "everything is fine" was your party's biggest failure.

So yes, the crap economy was always going to be at the top of all voters list, I think you all are vastly underestimating the disgust by everybody who was being told "Bidenomics" was working great for four years.

You keep, inventing your own set of facts. I never said 7% interest rates were fine. So you don't think any time mortgage rates decrease that's good? Maybe you need to correct your diet? I said that it wasn't the catastrophe your side kept making it out to be. As such homes sales have increased annually year by year. It certainly impacts the ability of first home buyers and those with lower incomes the most. And I have steadily stated that inflation was a global problem not just our problem. And I have always stated that our economic recovery was fine when compared to the rest of the globe.

It's your side that created the term "Bidenomics" to try to pin a global economy issue on the shoulders of Biden.

Interestingly, the White House has since fully embraced the term, with White House spokesperson Olivia Dalton declaring it "the word of the day, word of the week, word of the month, word of the year". The administration now uses "Bidenomics" as a branding exercise to describe their economic vision of growing the economy "from the middle out and the bottom up".
The term was primarily developed by White House messaging experts Anita Dunn and Mike Donilon, who distributed a memo about it, suggesting it was more of a political messaging strategy than a strictly economic concept.

You're playing the same game your party did to lose all those votes, ignoring the obvious, minimizing the problem and blaming the messenger.

And you're driving my point home about how you alienated those groups of voters better than I can do myself.

Thanks.

So do you mean like I've been saying all along? That the democrats suck at messaging?

They did ignore sending the right message. They did lose touch with the average American by not concentrating on the topics that Americans cared about the most.

Both parties weaponize everything they can find to weaponize. Bidenomics was an easy target and it was the Democrats that set themself up for that to happen. That's not a game. That's the reality whether you wish to open your eyes to see it or not.

I find it odd that a person such as yourself takes issue with someone that holds the democrats at fault for losing the election by saying and agreeing with many of the same things you claim and say.

But that's where we are as a nation now.....

Keep in mind, you're talking to pit. The guy that changes his tune every time something doesn't go his way. The self proclaimed expert on every topic. The guy that has no life other than posting on here.

Someone do some checking. I did earlier but I don't feel like doing it again. He was bitching about minimum wage. Google "how many people make minimum wage", and you'll see different numbers, but anywhere from 100,000 to 1 million. And many of those are teenagers (over 16, but under 20)

So, in a country of some 321,000,000, perhaps a million make minimum wage..............and many of them teens.

Oh, did you know federal minimum wage does not equate to state minimum wage? Odd.

And yes, he was one of the people on here bitching about how Trump handled a new pandemic, while ignoring how every other country handled the exact same pandemic in the same way. Other than China. They had no people die from covid.

Sadly, his life revolves around posting on here. I'd throw in a dollar or 2 to get him a new hobby, but it won't work.

Yes in the world of arch life does not exist before 10 in the morning and life ends at 4 p.m eastern time. aka Bizarro World. Don't worry arch, some day if you save your pennies and make smart investments you too can retire and do what ever you want during the day. rofl

Yes I do know. which makes it easy for a state like I live in to keep the minimum wage at $7.25 just like they have here in Tennessee. It's actually that way in 20 states total. do you know which states and how many of them are red states?

You must be getting old. You used to be telling everyone everything at 9 in the morning.

As for saving my pennies, I'm doing well, thank you. I'm not on disability, like you. I probably won't ever truly retire, because I mainly don't want to be like you. But, I never would be, truthfully. I have hobbies, and a life.

I notice how you ignored how many people ACTUALLY MAKE minimum wage. Typical of you, ignoring facts. Hey, Fed. minimum wage does not over rule state minimum wage, and further, hardly anyone makes minimum wage, bet it fed or state. I know, you hate facts you disagree with being thrown in your face.

You aren't retired. You're .............eh, I won't go there. And gladly, while I still work for a living, I'm afforded the ability to do what I want, when I want. I really do not want to ever "retire", I'd get bored. Like you. Unlike you, I have hobbies: Golf, traveling, helping others, fishing, hunting...........it goes on and on.

I don't think you want me to go further on about you. In fact, as a person of class, I won't. Don't push me.

OH,one last thing: If I wanted to be retired right now, I would, and could.

I'm not on disability. Yet another lie by you. Yes I can't possibly have hobbies in the evening. You sad little man. It must be troubling to have your mind so occupied by me and i how I choose to spend my time.

States have no requirement to raise the minimum wage above the federal minimum wage but can't establish it below the federal minimum wage. It's also very factual that many people being paid above the minimum wage are still being paid below the poverty level. Not that this means anything to you. And it's also true that almost every state that has kept the minimum wage at $7.25 are red states. But I'm sure you don't care about that either. I mean it's not you so who cares, right?

I'm pushing. Let's see how much further in the gutter you will go with your personal attack. Let's see just how much smaller you can make yourself look.

You know for a man who has complained how he is having trouble with making a decent profit margin due to inflation now you can suddenly retire if you want to. "Things that make you go hmmmm for $500 Alex."

Back to our regularly scheduled program.......

Federal appeals court upholds sexual abuse verdict against Trump

A federal appeals court upheld the jury’s verdict finding Donald Trump sexually abused writer E. Jean Carroll and denied his request for a new trial.

Trump challenged the $5 million civil verdict alleging the trial judge made numerous errors, including allowing testimony of two other women who claimed Trump sexually assaulted them.

The appeals court concluded the trial judge didn’t abuse his discretion in ruling on evidence. Even if he made any errors, they said, given the strength of Carroll’s case, they are not persuaded Trump’s rights were affected to warrant a new trial.

“Both E. Jean Carroll and I are gratified by today’s decision. We thank the Second Circuit for its careful consideration of the parties’ arguments,” said Roberta Kaplan, Carroll’s attorney.

A separate jury awarded Carroll $83.3 million after finding Trump defamed her by denying the sexual abuse. Trump has also appealed that verdict.

Carroll alleged Trump raped her in the Bergdorf Goodman department store and then defamed her when he denied her claim, said she wasn’t his type and suggested she made up the story to boost sales of her book. Trump denied all wrongdoing. He does not face any jail time as a result of the civil verdict.

While the jury found that Trump sexually abused her, sufficient to hold him liable for battery, the jury did not find that Carroll proved he raped her.

Carroll filed the lawsuit last year under the “New York State Adult Survivors Act,” a state bill which opened a look-back window for sexual assault allegations like Carroll’s with long-expired statutes of limitation.

Steven Cheung – Trump’s top spokesman and incoming White House communications director – said more appeals are coming.

“The American People have re-elected President Trump with an overwhelming mandate, and they demand an immediate end to the political weaponization of our justice system and a swift dismissal of all of the Witch Hunts, including the Democrat-funded Carroll Hoax, which will continue to be appealed. We look forward to uniting our country in the new administration as President Trump makes America great again,”
Cheung said.

Trump has a lot to say about a lot. I don't attempt to keep up with it. It's more about what the Congress sends to his desk. I'm in a wait and see mode while wishing there had been more Dawglover05 write ins.

When you place them in control to do as they please why wouldn't they be in a great mood?

Imagine people being pissed about taking what have acted like private companies off the government teet and taxpayer's insurance policy, while creating $300 billion of additional profits to the federal government.

From an insider’s perspective, I am always weary of these types of ventures and “no-brained” assertions made by people like Ackman. Frankly, my constantly reinforced instinct is to believe it’s BS.

It calls to mine how DOGE will somehow trim $2T from spending without touching healthcare or social security.

I, for one, have grown tired of constantly being pitched on ideas broadcast as great for the whole, while only benefitting a very select few.

“Allowing the defense industry to consolidate will cause much more efficiency and bring down prices.”

“Allowing the merger of Delta and Northwest will lead to a better traveler experience and bring down flight prices.”

Bottom line is I don’t take him at his word. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 37485847372 times, shame on me.
