In years past prediction threads on the playoffs have been posted. However if you miss a game or two it can bust your entire bracket. So this season I have decided to have a playoff prediction thread one week at a time. This weekend it is the Wild Card games. The following is the schedule and where to watch.....

Saturday games

8:00 P.M. ES.T. on Amazon Prime Video

Steelers @ Ravens

Sunday games

1:00 P.M. E.S.T. on CBS and Paramount+

Packers @ Eagles

8:00 P.M. E.S.T. on NBC and Peacock

Commanders @ Buccaneers

Monday game

8:P.M. E.S.T. on ESPN and ABC

My predictions are as follows......

Texans over Chargers

Ravens over Steelers

Bills over Broncos

Eagles over Packers

Commanders over Buccaneers

Vikings over Rams

Ravens should still win.

Eagles, Bucs, Chargers, Vikings, Ravens, Bills will advance to the second round.

Just saw that the Rams-Vikings game was moved to Glendale Arizona
Because of the fires in Southern California

Mine is more of a 'hope' vs what I think is going to happen.

Detroit gets healthier and the Chiefs somehow get more banged up.

I expected a bit of redemption from Herbert and the Chargers following the collapse in their last trip to the bonus round. Herbert is now officially Andy Dalton until he's not.

The Charger offence did not play well at all, and I had a couple flashback moments to our loss in Houston last January, especially when the Texans almost had a second pick 6.

It was a wild game with two interceptions from Herbert and lots fumbling but C.J was sharp when it mattered.

It was televised live on CBS which was in the original post. And yes, for the children the NFL has decided to invest in making them fans when they are young.

He certainly under performed to what I expected to see. But then so did Stroud for most of that first half. What I've seen from Herbert lately tends to make me think he's more of the Jekyll and Hyde variety QB. You never know what you're going to get on any given game day.

I picked the Texans to win but I thought it was more of a toss up game that could have gone either way. That's not quite the way things turned out.

Josh Allen was great today, Denver’s young team just not yet where the Bills are. Buff really wore them down by late in the third. First half was good though.

I'm certainly a fan of Baker's and always admired his grit and his ability to fire up his team. He's proven to be a very good QB.

But to focus on Washington for a minute. Last year they were 4-13. Josh Harris bought the team. He did a makeover in every sense of the word. From the FO to the coaching staff to drafting a QB. As a result this year they were 12-5 during the regular season. There should be no doubt their rookie QB Jayden Daniels will be the NFL rookie of the year.

He holds the NFL record for rushing yards by a rookie QB. The highest percentage of completions for a rookie QB at 69%. He broke Commanders franchise records for most passing yards and total yards (4,459) by a rookie QB and was named NFL rookie of the week 11 times. The thing I think that has stuck out most to me is the game has not been too big for him. He always seems calm under pressure and when he does make a mistake he has the ability to shake it off and move on from it.

This total transformation of a team in a single season has truly been amazing and this kid has been a joy to watch.

Agreed. How come we can't turn it around like that??? Oh, that's right. We can't find a QB. But in all fairness, we've only had 25 years!!!!

A single season transformation like the Commanders made is a rare feat. It's actually quite amazing! That's why watching it all unfold has been fascinating to me.

And I get the entire "We've had 25 years!" part. I really do. However, Al Lerner and Jimmy Haslam are two different owners all together. I won't lump the failure of Lerner in with the failure of Halsam.

Halslam thus far has had 14 years to build a team. And he hasn't been any better at it than Lerner was.

We had one we let him go. A Baker in the hand is worth two Watsons in the bush.

The hope has always been that he's moved past that point in his life.

I just put on the Minn/LA game and the Rams are up 27-3 in the 3rd. Wow.

Can we do away with the first round of the playoffs? With the exception of bucs/washington, these games were terrible.

On paper the 6 games looked like they could be competitive. In reality only one was but the anticipation of the games creates excitement and interest for the fans.
