Since the Falcons are on the hook with Cousins they may keep him.
Kirk Cousins' contract with the Atlanta Falcons is for four years and $180 million, with $100 million guaranteed. The contract averages $45 million per year. Contract details The contract includes a $50 million signing bonus Cousins is due a $10 million roster bonus for 2026 that becomes guaranteed on March 17, 2025 The Falcons are expected to release Cousins before the $10 million bonus is due.
The Falcons could keep him as the backup.
The Browns have to look everywhere. They have to look at all options because as it stands Watson may not play at all.
Normally when an achilles has issues it means more surgery. It is a year's recovery under the best circumstances. Even then it is usually not until the second year that you feel normal.
We need three quarterbacks.

We are going to hire an OC.
We hired a new OL coach with a run game background.
It's safe to say that we will draft offensive linemen and a running back.
I think Elijah Moore will leave in free agency.
Receiver is another position to invest in as well as TE.
We could invest in any position on defense.
Clearly we have to take the best players on the draft Board.
However, we have one need that is imperative that we address. Currently we have no quarterback.
We need three. At least we need three to be available to play for the team for the coming year. .

I just saw where Abdul Carter is coming out for the draft. Either him or Travis Hunter, maybe both, will be there when we pick at #2 that is if we don't trade down. Either one will be an upgrade for us. Imagine Carter on one side with MG on the other!!! I would sign a vet QB and then maybe draft one of the others later on. I would not take one at #2 right now.

We don't get to go through the whole process of evaluation.
We can can look at tape. We don't interview. We can't get in their heads.
Right now knowing my limitations. I want JJ McCarthy.
I might be able to get behind Ward.
I could see trading down and getting Milroe or Ewers later.
There may be others that during the process start to stand out.

There are over 3 months until the draft and a lot can happen. Maybe Ward or one of the others may stand out. I was just contemplating that particular scenario.

I think there are 2 game-changers in this draft. Who you take depends on wheher you want to really improve your offense or your defense
Edge - Abdul Carter Wr - Travis Hunter
If I am drafting Hunter, I am making him a full time Wr He is so dynamic on offense that I don't waste him on defense
The only way I trade down is if the NYG want to move up one spot or if the NYJ or the raiders give me their 2026 #1 plus I want additional 1st next year, especially from a bad team because we will be taking a Qb in the 2026 first round
If the Vikings are willing to give up JJ, I would trade the #2 pick for him. When I watch JJ, I see Troy Aikman Calm and cool in the pocket Elite precision with his passes Additionally it looks like he has tremendous leadership quaities Having said that, I don't see the Vikings trading JJ this year If Darnold has another great year next year, then maybe the sign Darnold to a long term deal and trade JJ I think they would be foolish to do that this year

I think there’s an extremely strong chance we trade down. If the Browns see this draft similarly to everyone else I’m reading, there’s no immediate starting QB in this draft. Which means we’ll be loading up for next year’s 1st round. Not knowing where we land next year means we’ll need ammo to hedge risk.
Let’s be honest, there’s really only one position that matters. You have to solve the QB or you have nothing. You can have all the other pieces but if you don’t have a QB, you’re sunk. Maybe you won’t be terrible, but you won’t win superbowls. And that’s got to be the goal.

When I started to watch tape on J Mac. I had no expectations.
When I watch a QB for the first time I shut off all sound. I don't watch anything but the prospect's footwork.
Then I will re-watch the tape and watch the results. Footwork is a huge tell. How does the QB navigate the pocket and prepare to throw?
Where are his feet when throwing? How does he align?
Then watch his motion and release. I was a pitching coach and I pay close attention to the detail of the throwing motion.
Right away it was clear to me that J Mac was well coached. Harbaugh is a damn good coach and was a good QB.
J Mac has refined mechanics. He throws on balance with beautiful form.
That is where accuracy begins and ends. That base foundation and muscle memory is so important.
He has everything you look for physically. He is a natural leader from all reports. He has won big games.
If the Browns were to land J Mac. I would be a happy guy. I believe in what I saw.
IMO he is clearly a better prospect than the others in this draft.

I like Ewers more than I thought I would.
Quinn has a fair bit of Mahomes to him. Doesn't have quite the same cannon, but can drive the ball in when he needs to. Just uses touch a lot, so arm strength isn't always apparent. Also was playing through an oblique injury sustained in the 3rd game (? UTSA) this season. Just a smooth operator. Makes the blocking adjustments, calls the audibles, carries out the fakes well. Good placement for YAC. Can get the ball out fast (quick release). Uses multiple arm angles effectively.
I think his tackles are overrated. When they lose, they lose quick.
You mess with the "Bull," you get the horns. Fiercely Independent.
