I know nothing about him except that the draft sites say he’s slow to process information, read defenses, or play with anticipation, which would give me tremendous pause. Who knows if they’re wrong or not, but you know my thing about needing a quick-eyed QB. I still don’t know if that’s as important as I make it out to be but operating system is what everything else is built on top of.

Browns promote "Billy" to QB Coach. I wonder why.......
There are a lot of "coincidences" pointing towards Sanders. It's hard to figure out if they are legit foreshadowing, if it's pre-draft smoke and mirrors, or they are simply coincidence.
I'm coming around on him a little bit, or at least trying out a different perspective. He might be uniquely qualified to handle the Cleveland media circus. My on field gripes are things that should mostly be correctable with coaching. My off the field "concerns" may have grown out of proportion after Watson.
I don't know about the "ceiling," but Bo Nix did pretty well last season.
I'm not saying I love the idea, but I do plan to try to dig in more after trying to set aside some preconceptions.
You mess with the "Bull," you get the horns. Fiercely Independent.
More than anything I fear making another mistake drafting a quarterback.
There is a strong argument that we have to draft a quarterback at two. No matter who it is.
Forget where he should go. Think only in terms of we want this guy and we will draft him.
No matter what draft a quarterback at two.
I cannot go there. I do not believe need should be over value even with quarterbacks.
Let's say they love Dart or Milroe. Nobody believes them to hold a top ten value. Why take one of them at two when it appears you could draft them later?
Because somebody like the Saints or Steelers could decide to draft them in the first round.
You have to use your judgement and trust your risk is worth taking.
I believe we can draft Hunter or Carter. Then we can draft a quarterback. If we lose out on Ward or Sanders that is ok if we believe in Milroe or Dart.
The problem with that theory is that all NFL teams overvalue the QB position. Many QB's get drafted by teams passing on much better athletes who rank much higher on all draft boards. If you wait to draft a QB according to actual value on your draft board, he won't be there. When you think in terms of drafting a QB teams go out and get their guy.
If a QB like dart is what people see as a valuable asset at the QB position, there will be a team that grabs him earlier than he is projected simply because he is a QB.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
I get why there’s a drive to draft a QB but everyone in that building has to know they MUST get it right. This is the last QB that this FO is going to pick. If they get it wrong, they’re all gone.
So, I don’t claim expertise, I just go on what I read and what I read is that this everyone in this class is a year away at least from being a viable starter.
I brought up a note earlier in another thread that nobody responded to: Matt Stafford. He’s looking for a new contract and the Rams don’t look like they want to give it to him. They may be looking to move or cut him. He’s old but he’s better than anyone on the market hands down. Now you take a QB in the 2nd round along with Henry in the 1st, a couple OL additions and we’re in business. He’s also a super stable, good dude.

"Charlie Weis, the father of Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., said he thinks Dart will be considered a first-round pick by Monday, after the Senior Bowl concludes."
"Let me say this before Senior Bowl week starts," said Weis, who was once the head coach at Notre Dame and Kansas. "I have watched every snap of Jaxson Dart for the last 3 years plus have seen his leadership and approach off the field. By next Monday, he will be considered a first-round pick. It's easy to wait to make that call. Not necessary!"
Berry on Dart: “High-level processor, really good anticipation, he’s accurate, and he really pounds the middle of the field. Like that’s really his game; he probably has some understated mobility.”
Rick Spielman former Viking GM was at the Senior Bowl. KS was with Spielman at Minnesota.
Spielman stated that Dart will be a first rounder. Football people like KS and Spielman know everyone. Archie and Eli Manning are MS alum and know all about Jaxon Dart. In fact both especially Archie are tight with Dart. He would text Jaxon before every game. .
I have already heard on Giant's sites that Dart is a target at three.
If you forget all the hype on the players names and just watch them play the position. Dart looks the best IMO.
I don't care about college stats so much. They are overblown by weak competition. Sanders numbers look great. So what, look who they were against. I am not saying he is a bad prospect. What is important is how the prospect plays the game and how he played against good competition.
In a case like Josh Allen who played at Wyoming. He was always the best player on the field asked to be a hero and win games. He took lots of gambles to win and turned the ball over. Coming into the draft that was the take on him. That was not his fault.
You have to forecast the prospects skills into the NFL. None of these prospects are finished products.
With our luck Tennessee will take him #1. In that case I would take Carter or Hunter at 2 and maybe take a QB later on if we don’t trade down. Definitely a few scenarios.
From Dane Brugler after the Senior Bowl practices wrapped up...
At one point during Wednesday’s practice, I was standing on the sidelines within 5 feet of three NFL coaches: Kevin Stefanski, Mike Tomlin and Dave Canales. For the prospects at the Senior Bowl, the chance to make a lasting impression in front of these coaches is invaluable.
Here are the players from each position who maximized their opportunities in Mobile:
Quarterback: Tyler Shough, Louisville
If we’re being honest, none of the quarterbacks — Shough, Jalen Milroe, Jaxson Dart, Riley Leonard, Seth Henigan, Dillon Gabriel or Canadian prospect Taylor Elgersma — jumped out in a major way throughout the week. Based on an informal poll of scouts in attendance, no one disagreed.
However, Shough was the most consistent of the group, which isn’t a major surprise. In my Senior Bowl preview, I highlighted Shough as an underrated candidate to be QB3 or QB4 in this class (behind Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders), and he didn’t do anything to hurt that projection. With his size, arm strength and mobility, he has the requisite physical traits and sees the field well to deliver the ball downfield. If the main criticism against him is that he is already 25, plenty of teams can live with that.
Runner-up would be Gabriel, who processes things at a high level to make quick, snap decisions. The Oregon quarterback also was the most impressive in group interview sessions, multiple scouts said. In which middle round will the Miami Dolphins draft the southpaw?
Milroe and Dart entered the week with plenty of hype, and scouts were hoping to see them play at a level that left no doubt they should be top-50 picks. That didn’t happen in Mobile, as both were inconsistent, at best.
.........
Offensive tackle: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
Here’s the thing about offensive tackles during Senior Bowl one-on-one drills: They all end up getting beat at some point (often multiple times). And that was especially true of this year’s group, which was tasked with facing a stacked defensive line class. There wasn’t one offensive tackle who truly impressed. When focusing on the positive reps, however, several handled themselves well — and Conerly is a good example of that.
Everyone has seen the Mike Green bull rush that left Conerly on his back, but I was encouraged by the way Conerly responded. The former Oregon left tackle put that play behind him and got better on the next rep and in the next practice, performing his best during one-on-ones on Day 3. When he is late with his hands and exposes his chest, Conerly is in trouble; when on time, he stays square and can get himself out of some compromising situations.
" Dart named top practice QB at Senior Bowl. Jaxson Dart had a phenomenal week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. On Friday, the Senior Bowl's executive director revealed that Dart had been voted the American squad's Practice Player of the Week at quarterback by defensive backs at the all-star event."
"ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky has gone as far as calling Dart a potential first-round selection. To add to that, ESPN College Football host Matt Barrie took it further in his Senior Bowl commentary, saying, "Jaxson Dart should be in the discussion as the top overall QB."
I challenge someone to show on game tape why Sanders or Ward is better than Dart.
I don't see it. I have looked.
Dart has the stronger arm. He is just as accurate. Completion percentage is not the only measure.
He is mobile and is a good runner. He is a renowned leader by all who have ever been around him.
He has improved yearly. He has size at 6'2" 225.
He throws with touch and anticipation.
The BS about the Kiffin offense is "group think" that keeps getting repeated and is meaningless. What has that got to do with how Dart plays the position of quarterback.
When you look at the fine points of playing quarterback like throwing mechanics, touch to all levels, accuracy at all levels. Dart does it all very well.
When April comes people will be singing a different tune.
I don't know much about him. So how do you think he does at processing information quickly? Going through his progressions quickly? Reading the defense quickly? For me those are some of the most critical measures of a QB.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

For perspective, Dart beat out Milroe and Riley Leonard to win the award. Not exactly the highest bar.
Before the Senior Bowl Milroe was QB 3. He is not now.
People can talk about the Kiffin offense. That to me is cheap shot bs. That is where he went to school.
He follows the coach's directions.
For anyone who wants to look further. Just watch the games. Watch him play quarterback.
Watch Sanders, Ward, Milroe and Dart. Come to a conclusion. Forget what others say. Forget draft profiles and scouting reports. Forget the school. Watch them play the position of quarterback under the conditions he played in.
In the end it is about how will he play in the NFL.
If someone thinks the others are better ok. I think Dart is better than Sanders, Ward and Milroe.
"Here’s some fun feedback on Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, from a longtime NFL scout: “He’s gonna be a major steal in the draft. Throws the ball down the field as well as anyone, which I realize is kinda this lost skill in today’s game, but that’s what makes him so interesting."
Glad to see others talking Dart. I have been high on him since early in the process.
I have never felt he will be a top 5 QB, but rather a guy near top 10....which is good enough, especially when you look at the value of not having to pick him at #2. I'd seriously look at trading down if we can find a trade partner. That would give us a good player at a premium position, then the ability to trade up to later in the 1st round to select Dart if we feel he won't make it to the 2nd round.
This is just another step in the process, but the Senior Bowl is an important step. Not only do all the important people meet to watch the practices and game, but also get together at dinner and around the bar to start the process of feeling out deals if deals are to be made.
Now we move on to the combine which is another networking meeting for the most part. A few times a player presents a surprise, either good or bad, but for the most part the teams already know about the physical traits of a player.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Well, therein lies the problem. One of them. If we think Dart can be our FQB, just take him at 2, because that might be the only chance we’d get him. His rep seems to be to be rising, but is that because it’s a weak QB class and the media will pump up the QBs, no matter how pedestrian they are?
The Browns were at the Senior Bowl in force. It is a relaxed time of year and everyone gets to meet up with old friends.
The Browns had staff coaching teams plus KS, and AB. They know who they want to watch closely. Most of the homework has already been done. This gives them a chance for some close face time.
There are a lot of resources thrown at this. I hope they get it right.
"Charlie Weis, the father of Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., said he thinks Dart will be considered a first-round pick by Monday, after the Senior Bowl concludes."

I agree. Dart was always looked at as a high day two pick....but
QB's are always elevated by the time the draft happens.
Teams see real value in getting the 5th year on the contract as happens with 1st round picks.
If the Browns want Dart they with have to do one of 2 things. Either stay put at #2 and figure out a way to get back in to the middle of the 1st round, or trade down from the 2nd pick.
If Dart is the target, I favor a trade down. Get another 1st next year and another 2nd this year plus whatever else the trade may call for in the way of compensation. Even if we can only get a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year to move down just a few slots. If Dart is the guy you want, you have to make sure you get him and not try to get greedy.
This is a good draft to help fortify the run game. A couple of 2nd rounders this year would be a big help in doing so. Another tackle and TE in the 2nd round. There are a lot of possibilities.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
