The Combine is a media show.
The teams get the physicals done and get to meet with players.
The rest is more spectacle than substance.
But it can be entertaining.

I feel as though the meetings with the players is the most important element of the combine.

Nothing gives us a hint about the draft until after the FA signing period is over. I've been watching this same movie for decades. Nothing about it has changed. To have a clue about the priorities in the draft you have to first see what holes are left after free agency.

I think Kurtis Rourke is my QB in the draft now. I'd feel good about getting him at his current projection.

I've been reading a lot of posts stating that AB doesn't draft well etc. IMO he's had some hits and misses no doubt. I can understand how difficult it is to draft a talented QB for the pros. It's hard for everyone. However, I don't get why it's so difficult to draft at most other positions. You have so much input at your disposal not only within your own organization but outside of it with all these draft analysts. Seems pretty difficult to me to MISS on a CB, SS LB DL etc. yet it does happen. Obviously drafting isn't easy but on paper it shouldn't be that hard to find solid players.

I would think that analytics would help.
There has to be good data on drafting especially positions. I know there are size guidelines.
Speed etc.
I think mental makeup is important. You have to want it bad. I look for driven people. What motivates them?
How are they wired. I think of Nick Chubb.

John Dorsey and or Sashi Brown might have been the best talent evaluator we have had in 20 years.
both had some pretty big wins
