Another one for the "Old Coots" on here, including me. Late 1960's/early1970s------ish.

The Choir....."It's Cold Outside

Ironically, I delivered their newspaper and at times they would be in their garage playing/practicing, etc.

When I first heard this band, when I was about 13 or 14? I think it changed my DNA - permanently.

I ran across this young woman a month or so ago. She has maybe a hundred vids going back 15 years since she was a young teen.
I didn't pick this song so much because I like it but rather because it displays her talent as a fingerstyle guitar player. She is fantastic. Really, really good.

Her name is Gabriella Quevedo.

An yet even more so when Ozzy started his solo career. Black Sabbath was certainly the foundation of it all. I was a huge fan. But once Ozzy went solo I never bought another Black Sabbath album. Why? Because I could listen to music like this.................

He took it to an entire new level.

Black Sabbath's 'Heaven and Hell' album was great without Ozzy, but so was the guitar playing/songwriting of Randy Rhoads with Ozzy.

And that's where it ended. They had one good album left in them after Ozzy departed. Let's face it, if Ozzy hadn't kept Black Sabbath afloat with reunions over the past four decades they might very well only be playing in dive bars now.

Black Sabbath has sold a total of 75 million albums world wide. The vast majority of those albums were those in which Ozzy was on. Since leaving Black Sabbath, Ozzy has sold over 100 million albums.

Ozzy was Black Sabbath.

I will add: bob daisley helped with a lot of the songwriting and arranging when ozzy went solo. But yeah if it wasn’t for Randy... he played a major role in reviving Osborne’s career. And by the way, I hate his wife, despise her. She’s a see you next Tuesday kind of gal. I’m sure Jake e. Lee and other former bandmates would agree.

And Zakk Wylde picked up where Randy left off. Ozzy continued to have hits decades after Randy died. Ozzy hired far better musicians than Black Sabbath ever were and assembled people that made far superior music. And Sharon was the brains behind the entire thing.

Just a personal opinion, but i don't get the Ozzy love. Black Sabbath had it's time but seemed to get old in short order. I'd also say that Ozzy was a good stage performer, but he wasn't a good singer.

I will give him some credit, at least he tried to sing, unlike many metal bands where they just scream into the microphone.

No, he isn't, but a different kind of singing. Conway wasn't Frank Sinatra.

I liked Sabbath back in the day, I bought a couple of records, but it had way more to do with some of the sounds the band made over anything vocal.

Music is a personal choice.

What one likes is what appeals to their ears.

Some music we can share a like for. Other music we may not.

Yet when Ozzy went solo the world bought far more if his music than Black Sabbath's. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but those who buy and listen to music flatly reject yours.

Conway was my dad's favorite. My dad was born in 1930.
