Unfortunately, no surprise here. We kind of knew it with the Schwesinger pick.
My guess is that his career is likely over.

I am saddened by this news.
I have great respect for Jeremiah as a player and a man.
I hope he recovers. No matter how this injury pans out; I hope he will go on to enjoy a full life.

Sad news for JOK and the Browns. I really thought he was coming into his own as a star LB.
The LB corp is in trouble with JOK out and Bush facing a possible suspension. I like the Schwesinger pick but he is untested and may take a while to adjust to the NFL play. I also wonder about him not being a starter the first 2 games the beginning of last year at UCLA and only 10 starts (all in 2024) for his college career. His first 2-years at UCLA were very unproductive in a backup role logging only 27 tackles in 26 played games.
Like I said, I like the pick and believe he has a high upside but is he NFL ready? Only time will tell but losing JOK hurts the Browns defense no question.

Sucks. He was really on his way to becoming a elite player. Honestly this could be the end of his career. Poor guy. A huge blow to our defense to. Teams can now focus on garret completely as we don't really have any other players on defense that pose a consistent pass rushing threat.

The Browns defense can't afford to lose it few playmakers It has 2 now . Garrett and Ward. And Ward is a concussion away from joining JOK. The defense was already questionable at LB regarding depth JOK total class act. Other players should follow his lead

This saddens me. My nephew, his boys and I attended the playoff game in Houston after the 2023 season, and after the game we approached a woman who was JOK's mother. We spoke to her for a while and she seemed like a nice, down-to-earth lady. I don't want his career to be over, but I also don't want him getting permanently damaged.
Best wishes to you, JOK.

I loved his play, I loved the draft pick. Can’t mess with a spinal injury. He’s done a lot of good things as an ambassador for the Brown, including in Africa.
Props to him, as the kids say.

I’ve been rooting for this kid all the way back to Notre Dame. This really is a sad situation. Right now I just hope it isn’t life debilitating. Football is a career, but it’s just a game. JOK is smart enough to move on if this is a career ender. I just hope he doesn’t move forward if the experts are saying he shouldn’t. He had nothing left to prove, he just needs to get a front office job or broadcasting.

Such a bummer. One of the more exciting players in our history since 99. Prayers to him

I believe the selection of Carson S with the 1st pick in round 2 was an indication this was going to be a reality. I was still hoping he would be able to play. Now first and foremost I hope this injury does not affect his life outside of football. secondly I hold hope he can return to the field and play inspiring football again for the Browns. I loved watching him fly around the field.

I think some of us had a feeling this was coming. It doesn't make it any easier to hear and it makes me feel sad for him. Always loved his intensity and once he was put in position to play to his strengths his light shined brightly. Wish him the best of luck and hope I'll get the chance to see him play in a Browns uniform again.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

True that! I will miss him. He was a bright spot in the middle of some horrible play around him. Wishing him healing and a full recovery. I would love to see him on the field and playing for the Browns again. Best prayers going out to you.

Sad but not unexpected.
I think he wants to play, but if he can't get a MD to clear him, nobody will allow him.
With all the liabilities the NFL has faced over the last 10 years, and MD's a well, if a MD isn't willing to sign off on a player, the player is done.

if an MD won’t sign off, he should be done. ANY risk from the oriiginal injury should prevent him fe playing, period. With the nature of the injury, sadly, he should work on mental therapy instead of physical therapy, this is his life, he’s a young man.

I saw Jeremiah interviewed by Tom Pelissero.
Both Pelissero and Rapoport were blown away by the maturity and intelligence.
He has a real presence about him. On top of being a terrific player I am a fan of his.
Both Nick and Jeremiah may never play for the Browns again and that is a tough pill to swallow.
Neck and spine injuries are dangerous. Nerve damage is always uncertain.
If he is risking permanent injury of any kind. There is nothing worth that risk.
I can only wish him well. He is the only player I wanted to draft before the draft that the Browns actually drafted.
