Bieber makes sense, Kwan not so much IMO

Forgive me if I'm posting in ignorance (I don't follow baseball super closely... only even remotely care about the Guardians), but wouldn't this be indicative of a firesale?

Cleveland seems to operate in cycles.... they load up on young talent and try to piece together a playoff roster given their budget constraints. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't (gotta have enough quality players but also have to assemble those players into a complete roster). When it looks like the roster isn't moving in the right direction on a good enough schedule, they get what they can for the pieces they have, and start anew.

I was worried moving Kwan might be the sign that they're working on rebuilding the roster again.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Their careers are over. Looking forward (then again, maybe not) to hearing the finding from the investigation.

It would be nauseating if Clase's case involves his pitching in the playoffs last year.

You think so? Maybe Ortiz because he hasn't done much yet, but I think Clase finds a home or plays here again. I guess I am thinking through the lens of football (Calvin Ridley) and I think the Pete Rose issue is a bit antiquated. So I'd expect them to not not be banned from the sport. We shall see.

If they bet on themselves, especially if they bet against themselves, they should be banned. I would fully support the ban. Recently in the NBA there was a player that bet against himself in prop bets and got banned. I believe baseball will follow suit.

I do think they are given lifetime bans (assuming any wrongdoing is found). NFL has been more lenient than baseball.

MLB has already banned a player for life for betting on his team. He was injured and at home.

Rule 21d(2) in the MLB handbook states: “Any player, umpire or club or league official or employee who shall bet any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has a duty to perform, shall be declared permanently ineligible.”

Here's Zack Meisel on Casket and Phelpzzz.

Kayfus was a fast riser this year. Lots of Manzardo and Kayfus. Very little of Santana please.

I’m sure Kayfus will play some RF.

Man, I hope the team can work out a long term deal with Kwan. The city absolutely loves him.

Kwan should definitely be a Guard for his career

Guardians take game 2 from the Mets ....... go for the sweep tomorrow. Now 7 behind the Tigers, as they continue to slide.

It was funny peeekiing in on CBSsports's tracker ..... they had Nimmo from the Mets as the current batter for probably 7 innings. (and for both teams) Weird.

Gavin Williams had a no hitter into the ninth with one out. Soto breaks it up with a homer to dead center. Guards get the sweep though by winning 4-1.
