Lot of things to unpack.

New QB to start with.

Vikings already have home advantage because they’ve been in the UK awhile now, gotten used to bangers and mash and warm beer, the bloody wankers.

Our defence should be able hold those hooligans to a respectable number, points-wise, but our STs are week to week in terms of competence.

We have a shot in this one, mostly due to Wentz.

DG’s mobility should, but not necessarily, help our OL. I’m hopeful Conklin will play because our OL really really needs him.

Judkins is on an upward trend, I’d like you to see him get 100+ on the ground.
We’ve been turning the ball over too much, obviously, so our newest new QB needs to put a stop to that.

Catch the ball, Jerry. Thoughts, DTers?

How can we win?

Have the Defense keep the Vikings Offense off the field.

Have the Offense keep the Vikings Offense off the field

Then there are the SP teams

Any given out of country Sunday

It's all about their OL holding up against our DL. To me that's our only advantage

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

We can win this game.

The formula does not change.

Get turnovers don't turn it over.

Establish the run game. Protect the passer. Catch the damn ball.

The defense can apply pressure and Wentz is a guy who is prone to making mistakes when pressured.

Dillon is not going to rattle. He has played a lot of football. Take what is given.

Special Teams has to be play better in all aspects especially kick off coverage. Damn, I am talking to you Bubba.

The North is ripe for the taking. No way the Steelers are anything special.

I see us having a slightly different variance of offense too. Moving the pocket, a little more of the bootleg stuff

No reason the Browns should lose this game. The Vikings are banged up, and the Browns have a new shiny QB that is ready to perform at a high level.

On paper I agree however the Vikings are another team we historically have had trouble beating from the days of the purple people eaters. I would love to see us beat them.

I don't see a rookie QB coming in and pleasantly surprising anyone against this D. It's a tough draw for a rookie. To have a chance, we will have to limit turnovers and run the ball well. If we fall behind we're cooked. DG needs to take care of the ball and not take sacks.

Defense will need to dominate, as they have, but they need to generate turnovers. They've been doing more than their fair share, but if there's a gripe to be had it's that they don't take the ball away from offenses.

The Vikings run defense ranks 26th in the league

Allowing 110 yards per game

The Browns run game should excel in this game

Should allow for Gabriel to relax and not have the pressure to win by his arm

The Browns still have to take shots downfield

Unfortunately, the Vikings pass defense ranks 3rd in the league

id feel more comfortable with our run game if our OL was better

My expectations are that Gabriel will not go quickly to checkdowns like Joe was doing.

Joe was anticipating the rush and went to checkdowns early. In addition Joe's ball placement on the checkdowns were not good. He was throwing behind guys and negating their ability for run after catch yards. IMO he was missing layups.

Gabriel will be decisive and get the ball out. I expect KS to scheme the game to Gabriel strengths and the run game.

Look for motion and roll outs with use of the TE's.

Judkins will get carries. I hope they mix in pass plays to Sampson.

At least there is some excitement on my part to see something different.

I feel it works both ways with the O- Line

A mobile QB that can move can help a struggling O- Line

It Might be as simple as not having a 40 year old statue who couldn't move from defenders

to a younger QB who can make plays moving which helps the line

Hopefully it'll look better Sunday morning

I think being his first start what will be asked of him to do will be very limited. I call it the "crawl before you walk" theory. I get it. He's a very experienced college QB with a lot of starting experience. He has been very cool under pressure. But this is a much bigger stage and I think they will want him to get his feet under him before they open things up for him. To me that's the only approach that makes sense.

I am excited.

I want to see how he will do. I like the young man. He has conducted himself the way you would want him to.

Ya never know but I think he will be fine. Just play the game like he has been doing.

His approach is the right way. Greg Maddux used to say "I can only control my next pitch." Which is short for focus on your next step.

Gabriel all camp long has been about getting better today. Learn. Correct mistakes. Do everything you can to improve.

I am pulling for him.

I think we should draft a QB next year because of their potential but if by some chance Dillon really lights it up for the rest of the season then we may just pass on a QB next draft. It's now become a wait and see situation.

I'm certainly pulling for the kid. I'm also curious to see how he does. It's a little early in the morning for shrimp and nachos but it will be fine with breakfast or brunch. naughtydevil

I don't really know what to expect. The Vikings have a rather complex defense which makes it very hard to read. He's certainly a smart kid who is very focused on his craft. He has overcome a lot of obstacles. I hope this is yet another step in that direction. It makes it very easy for me to be pulling for him to succeed. I'm more anxious about this game than any other game so far this season. A lot of questions yet to be answered.

The decision was made to hand the baton to Dillon Gabriel. I expect the Browns to win. If he is starting, then he has to give the team the best chance to win. Now he has to get it done. Let's see if the smartest guys in the room who drafted Gabriel almost 3 rounds before he was projected to be picked knew what they were doing. Maybe they are the smartest guys in the room? Maybe they are not? Either way they need held accountable for this season. GM's and Coach's should not get passes 6 seasons into their reign.

Aren't you using the projections of the same people that predicted Shedeur Sanders was going to be a first round pick to claim they knew what they were talking about more than NFL GM's do?

Does that mean the Browns got a steal on Shedeur Sanders because every other NFL GM was too stupid to draft him for a full three rounds AFTER your supposed experts projected him to be drafted?

Or do you want to have it both ways?

Both were bad picks. There were more pressing needs like O Line that was neglected. Also, they made the trade to draft a QB in 2026. That will not change making the two selections in 2025 wasted picks. We now have the QB that was the biggest reach in the 2025 draft and the QB that had the largest fall in NFL draft history. Sounds like real solid work to me. Let's face it Berry and Stefanski do not know what they are doing. You are what your record says u
you are.

Surely you are not going to pass judgement based solely on one game? Even Josh Allen took 3 seasons before he rose to the top...

I'm not going to make excuses. If he does not give the team the best chance to win he should not be under center on his tip toes trying to see over the line.

Now you're trying to change the subject. Those same experts you're state made those projections also claimed Sanders was a first round draft pick. I'm not the one who has been repeating that Gabriell was drafted too early according to "projections". You are. Obviously they have no idea what they are talking about yet you keep acting as if that is some kind of gospel. But I didn't expect you to address that so you managed to meet my expectations.

Of course he is. This was him just setting the stage to do just that. At this stage it's all rather predictable.
