You keep saying that anything before Superbowl 1 doesn't matter.. Reading that statement to mean what I think it means, then the Packers first two Superbowl wins are "legitimate" championships in your eyes. The funny thing is that the first Superbowl was played during the 1966 season. The Browns won the NFL championship during the 1964 season. That's only a two year difference and do you know what the amazing thing is? The only difference between the league for those two seasons was the addition of one team. That's it. In 1966 there were 15 teams and in 1964 there were 14. All that happened was Pete Rozelle and Lamar Hunt coming up with the idea of changing the name of the championship game and implementing that change. The Browns essentially played the same teams, players, and the same number of games as the Packers of 1966. So why is our championship in that particular season not "legitimate" in your eyes but the Packers' championship two years later is? I'd love to hear one solid reason backing that up. The championship is called something different but it is the same exact thing as what the Browns won.
Oh, and here's another follow up for when you come up with some BS for my previous question. What if the NFL granted an expansion team to LA and changed the name of the Superbowl to the World Football Championship (or anything else for that matter)? Would all history prior to that be forgotten about? Would the 49er, Steeler, Cowboy, and Patriot dynasties instantly mean nothing because the name of the championship game was changed? Would the records and stats of the players from the past 40 years not count?
I guess I'm basically asking you, because apparently you have all the answers, at what point in time do accomplishments count and at what point do they not mean a thing at all?

My goodness methwoman, can't you use new smack? You keep repeating yourself....maybe you should seek professional help and get clean and sober, then maybe you would remember that you are repeating yourself again.
Eh, if he does it, I'll do it. Still waiting on your response, Meddy.
Quote: Why don't they count? Why is it too long ago? Because Jim Brown was a bad player? Because Paul Brown was a bad head coach? Because the hall of famers that played back then aren't recognized?
Why do Super Bowl losses give you merit? Because everyone achieves to be second best? Because people ultimately remember who loses the big game? Because when you have nothing else, saying that you lost two games gives you merit?
By the way, our team RETURNED in 1999, not 98. That's a good example about the average football knowledge every person from Cincinnati possesses. By the way:
Why don't we keep our history? Because the league said we couldn't? Because nobody talks about the Cleveland Browns past? Because the Ravens use the Browns history to define their records? Because we don't include the past Browns records to define our own?
History of losing, eh? Well 10-6 and 9-7 since 2002 gives us more winning seasons than you've had in 17 years.
Also, who are "they" that call us the Clowns? Someone whose team logo is a cat? The worst fans in the NFL? You turn the word "Brown" into Clown. What's the name of your stadium? Who's it named after? Yeah, that means a lot. LOL.
As for being the poorest city in America. Well, let me just say I've lived in both cities. Cleveland may be poorer, but I don't remember the last time I was in Cleveland where I had a race riot or a curfew therein. I don't remember the last time I was in Cleveland where I had to leave my city to go to another state to have fun. I remember all of those in Cincinnati. You talk about us being poor when you have Over the Rhine. You talk about us being poor when you had Jerry Springer as the mayor of your city.
Yeah, you really bring up some excellent points. *PFFFFT*

you take pride in coming in 2nd place?
how many league championships have the bengals won again?
how many? zero? what?
lolz.
zero.
dude, none.
none.
zero.
none.
not one.
as in less than one.
1964 is better than never.
dude, never.
as in, it never happened.
as in, not once.
what's it like to root for a football team that has never won a championship?
also, what's it like to go 15 years without making the playoffs, or even being relevant
hell, the browns were gone for a bunch of years and they have as many playoff appearances in the last 15 years as the bengals do, that's pure comedy right there.
If I was a Cleveland Clown fan I would be embarrassed to admit that in the last 44 years, the Browns have won absolutely NOTHING! "BUT" in 1964 we won a trophy back when it was easier to win because there were only 12 team. Kinda makes our absolutely nothing in 15 years not look so bad.
I have said it before & will say it again "Oh you Sad & Pathetic Cleveland Clowns".

If by not look so bad you mean "Holy crap my team has sucked so long that I have to pull out the fact we won a few AFC championships in the era where spandex and leg warmers were popular because we have never won anything worth a hot-diggity-darn." then yes you'd be correct.
The Browns have won an NFL Championship, The Bengals have never won anything that is involved with the NFL Championship and have never been crowned the Champions of the National Football League.
There were 14 teams, genius. And I like how you never reply to anyone's post that proves you wrong. You pretty much sum up every Bengal "fan" I've ever met. Congratulations.

still beats the zero sitting next to cincinnati's championship trophy count...
i love how you avoid this question like a politician...
1964? How pathetic & I don't even think they even televised games back then, anyway that team moved away to bigger things in Baltimore, I think it's funny that as soon as they get out of Cleveland they win the Super Bowl, too bad for you!
I'll tell you what, why don't you dig out your no sound 8MM black & white movies so you can relieve your glory days from ancient times.
The truth is that the Cleveland Clowns are now nothing but a bad expansion team with a throwback name, how sad for you!

1964 is better than NEVER!
Again, you lose...but you're a bungles fan, so you should be used to that.
Rogers Blows! The guy is fat & slow & you'll get maybe 18 or 19 plays out of the guy in a game, he may be good & then again maybe not. However I am dismayed that once the wheels strated turning that the deal was not done, kinda strange. Oh well, I still like the players we got & the draft will soon arrive so not worried here.
As opening weekend of the NFL's free-agency period unfolded, a line from one of my favorite movies — the 1976 classic, "The Outlaw Josey Wales" — played in my mind like a broken record: "Whooped 'em again, didn't we Josey?"
Jaime's (Sam Bottoms) famous phrase to Josey (Clint Eastwood) is being repeated by Cleveland Browns fans, who are laughing uncontrollably at the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Browns fleeced Cincinnati during free agency 2007, ripping off guard Eric Steinbach and defensive tackle Shaun "The Hamburglar" Smith. Would they do it again? You betcha.
After the league office voided the Bengals' trade for Detroit defensive tackle Shaun Rogers on Friday night, Feb. 29, the Browns swooped in and stole the prized "Big Baby" because they made the best offer.
The Bengals were willing to give up third- and fifth-round draft choices to the Lions, but the Browns coughed up a proven player — cornerback Leigh Bodden — and a third rounder.
Cleveland has re-signed Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Anderson, added twin D-line terrors in Rogers and Corey Williams, and turned the receiving corps of Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow into a three-headed monster with the addition of Donte Stallworth.
Meanwhile, the Bengals whiffed on Rogers and lost defensive end Justin Smith and free safety Madieu Williams.
From my humble point of view, not quite 7,000 yards away in the press box, the Browns are the team to beat in the AFC North ahead of the Steelers, Ravens and Bengals.
Cincinnati traded for Dwayne Robertson from the Jets, so I guess they did upgrade their d-line......oh wait, that deal fell through too? Haha, players are refusing to renegotiate their contracts because they don't want to play in Cincinnati. 2 trades for DT's, and 2 DT's that refuse to play for the Bungles.

Who want's to be a part of the "prisoners release party" ???

That's why there are 20+ pages of posts calling for MB's head on the bungle forum for botching this deal. The suicidal/homicidal posts on that forum are the funniest things I've read in a long time. The bungle bandwagon fans are already jumping ship and writing off next season.

HA HA! We picked up FA Antwon Odom yesterday from the Titans, 8 Sacks last year, nice job Bengals front office!!
It ain't over yet clownies, picking up a bunch of free agents does not always translate into championships, at least it hasn't for you over the last 44 Years!!
You really are sad. I guess you had to wait along time before one of the trades actually went through. Nobody wants to come to the Bungles, they will do anything to get out of the trade. FYI, two of those 8 sacks came in the last game against Indy's practice squad. Poor old Bungles.
