None of that has anything to do with your trying to use the Reagan quote.

It most certainly does if you bothered to read the context of how that single quote was used. It was most certainly used in regards to the federal government. In case you forgot, Republicans used to be all about states rights and keeping the federal government out of things. But with the huge shifting of the tides I can understand how that concept has gotten buried.

Man child denied again.............

Judge rules Kennedy Center board cannot put Trump's name on building again

A federal judge again blocked the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' Board of Trustees from adding President Trump's name on the building on Tuesday, finding that a proposed resolution to add Mr. Trump's name to the building "bucks a federal court order and a statute Congress enacted."

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper sided with Rep. Joyce Beatty, a board member who sued last year over Mr. Trump's changes to the Kennedy Center. Beatty, an Ohio Democrat, argued that the board's recent efforts to recognize the president violate federal law, and her legal team asked Cooper to issue emergency relief blocking the changes.

"Defendants are hereby enjoined from inscribing "renovated and restored by Donald J. Trump" on the main building or renaming the campus the "President Donald J. Trump Plaza," Cooper wrote in a 22-page opinion. "Simply put, Defendants cannot install memorials for President Trump or anyone or anything else at the Kennedy Center without Congress's blessing. The board resolution bucks a federal court order and a statute Congress enacted."

It was, but it was more about any government taking power away from individual people. Unfortunately, many states governments are going the way he was complaining about the Fed going.

The growth of state governments is pretty crazy when you step back and think about it.

Quote
96 percent — the proportion of the growth in total government employment since 1955 that is from state and local government employment, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In 1955, the first year in which BLS data for federal, state, and local government employment are all available, there were 6.95 million civilian government employees in the United States. Today, there are 23.6 million. That 240 percent increase is much higher than the 127 percent increase in the U.S. population over that same time span.

[...]

In percentage terms, state government employment has increased the most, 379 percent. Local government employment has increased by 329 percent. Federal civilian employment has increased by only 31 percent. Total state government employment was actually lower than federal civilian employment until 1972. State and local government employment accounted for 67 percent of total government employment in 1955; it accounts for 87 percent today.

Almost the entire increase in government employment over the past several decades is at the state and local levels —

edit: I'm for smaller more transparent government over huge bureaucracies where it is easy for information to get hidden/lost. Too much of the behind the scenes machinery is about maintaining the power of the governing rather than acquiescing to the desires of the governed. The States of today were the Fed of the past.

'Best MAGA event' in the country collapses days before gates open amid lousy ticket sales

A right-wing festival headlined by Kid Rock and Dog the Bounty Hunter has been canceled.

This year's Freedom Fest, the Northern Kentucky MAGA gathering known for drawing thousands of attendees and A-list conservative speakers, has been called off entirely just days ahead of its scheduled start on Saturday, according to organizer Eric Deters, reported the Cincinnati Enquirer.

"I am never ever, ever, ever, ever doing this event again – ever," Deters announced Monday in a video posted on his Facebook page.

The event, held annually at Deters' Morning View farm about 25 miles south of Cincinnati, has previously featured live music, food trucks, fireworks and children's entertainment alongside a lineup of prominent conservative figures, including Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Candace Owens in past years.

Deters has described it as "the best MAGA event, no question." This year's planned speakers included Kid Rock, Dog the Bounty Hunter, U.S. Rep. James Comer, Fox News contributor Joe Concha and Kentucky Republican Ed Gallrein.

Deters said his budget for the event depended heavily on a small circle of wealthy contacts purchasing $1,000 VIP tickets, and not enough of those sold to pull off the event.

"When I put together Patriots Day Freedom Fest, I put it together with the game plan and the idea that I could pay for it with VIP sales of $1,000 from these 100 people that I interact with on a regular basis," he said.

Only six of those tickets ultimately sold.

Deters, a polarizing figure in Northern Kentucky's political and legal circles, didn't hide his frustration with the donors he'd counted on.

"Rank-and-file Americans are the backbone of this country, (from) both political parties," he said. "I want to tell you something, rich people, as a whole, suck."

Despite the setback, Deters signaled he isn't stepping back from public life. He continues to host "The Eric Deters Show" across YouTube and social media, and pointed to his existing audience as leverage for future efforts.

"With 600,000 followers and 50 million views a month," Deters said, "I know I've got some power and I will use that power for good and I will use that power for the people."

A staunch MAGA supporter speaking out against the 1%. How refreshing!

NFL asks DHS to take down Brian Dawkins social media video

The NFL asked the Department of Homeland Security to remove a social media post likening former Philadelphia Eagles star Brian Dawkins' greatest hits to immigration agents' treatment of migrants.

DHS published the X post in question Sunday evening in response to another account's report that a "huge migrant caravan" was approaching the United States' southern border.

"Our time has come," the agency wrote, adding a video of Dawkins' most violent on-field collisions.

Dawkins, in a text, told ESPN he had not given the agency his blessing to post the video but declined to comment further.

"I have very respectfully not given permission," the Hall of Fame safety wrote.

The NFL said it requested the video's removal, though it remained up as of noon ET Monday.

In March, the White House posted video interspersing NFL and NCAA football highlight hits with video of airstrikes on Iranian targets, days after U.S. forces destroyed an elementary school in southern Iran, killing more than 100 children, according to Amnesty International. The NFL declined to say whether it had requested the removal of that video.

That video also remains on the social media site.

Dawkins, one of the most physical defensive backs of his era, retired in 2012 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Pentagon launches Office of Religious Affairs, will report directly to Hegseth

The Pentagon is launching a religious affairs office to address what Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth calls a loss of religious community within the military after an era of “political correctness.”

Reporting directly to Hegseth, the Office of Religious Affairs, or ORA, is meant to offer service members “first-class religious support,” according to the defense secretary. Hegseth first announced the office during his State of the Force address on Wednesday at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, to junior officers and enlisted leaders.

“Our department is, you might say, putting on the full armor of God because while we wage physical war, we all know the real battle is spiritual,” Hegseth said on Wednesday. “God is good. Evil is not. And America’s military must understand the difference.”

Hegseth announced the new office alongside a slew of other initiatives, such as the Autonomous Warfare Command, but he said all would be incomplete without faith, which he described as the “most essential part of our republic.”

Hegseth said that less than 5% of the joint force identifies as nonreligious, and the other 95% recognizes an “Almighty God.” The Pentagon has not released an official report of the religious makeup of the military since 2019, when the composition of active-duty personnel was 70% Christian, 2% atheist or agnostic and 24% reported as unclassified or unknown.

He said the force previously did not prioritize faith and instead emphasized “political correctness and secular humanism” and claimed that “secular careerists” and lawyers with red tape were dictating the spiritual life of service members, instead of military chaplains.

“The people who actually practice faith and religion, our chaplains, were buried echelons deep, waiting for permission,” he said. “We asked chaplains to serve and sacrifice, and then sidelined them with paperwork and process. And that ends now.”

Service chaplains will continue to serve as the department’s primary providers of religious support, with the office being their advocate, a Pentagon release says.

ORA’s First Steps

Effective immediately, the office will report directly to the defense secretary, according to a Sept. 30 memorandum. Its director, who has yet to be named, will serve as the principal advisor to the secretary and deputy secretary for religious affairs across the department.

The office’s core responsibilities, as outlined by the memo, will be to ensure that the Pentagon and military departments obtain sufficient funding and resources for religious affairs, such as chaplain-led programs and faith-based initiatives, as well as sponsoring and overseeing research and analytical tools to support and assess spiritual fitness and readiness across the military.

The office will also align and issue policies on religious affairs for the secretary; represent him on all religious affairs matters in engagements with Congress, religious endorsing organizations, and external governmental departments; and realign the Armed Forces Chaplains Board and its executive director under the office’s authority for chaplain advisement.

“This is not going to be a paper-pushing shop,” Hegseth said. “It’s going to have real teeth. It’ll protect budgets, demand infrastructure and strengthen religious support. The experts, our chaplains, will finally have an advocate at the highest levels.”

Within 60 days of the memo’s date, the office is expected to submit an initial baseline budget to Hegseth for fiscal year 2027 funding, the memo says, including permanent manning requirements. In the next 90 days, the director of Administration and Management will work with the office’s director to incorporate it into the Pentagon’s organizational framework and identify the initial allocation of senior executive service, civilian and military billets to stand up the office.

Within 90 days of the memo, the military departments’ secretaries are also expected to submit a baseline report of all unfunded and underfunded religious affairs requirements to the office’s director.

Pentagon’s Religious Overhaul

The announcement comes as the Pentagon has largely reduced the number of officially recognized faith affiliations from over 200 to 31, sparking criticism that most are Christian denominations and pressing the department to update the classifications by removing the subheading that grouped the Christian denominations.

In what the secretary described as a “top-down cultural shift,” he directed an overhaul of the Chaplain Corps and later required military chaplains to stop wearing rank insignia and to instead wear symbols of their faith.

To further align with the Pentagon’s policies, military services recently began requiring service members to update their Religious Affiliation Codes in their personnel records. The Department of the Air Force said the requirement exists only to improve chaplains’ knowledge of the force’s religious makeup.

In the past, Hegseth has faced backlash from advocacy groups for hosting monthly Pentagon Christian prayer services and his religious rhetoric in public appearances, raising concerns that he is associating the Christian faith with politics and the military.

“Our national motto is, after all, ‘In God We Trust,’” Hegseth said Wednesday. “Today, we reaffirm that trust. We’re placing spiritual health at the same level as physical health.”

President Trump is expected to name Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton as the White House’s artificial intelligence czar, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Professional Career

• Sullivan & Cromwell: Spent over two decades as a partner at the law firm, specializing in mergers, acquisitions, and capital-raising.

• SEC Chairman (2017–2020): Led the Securities and Exchange Commission during Donald Trump's first presidential term.

• Private Sector: Served as lead independent director for Apollo Global Management and board member for American Express.

• U.S. Attorney (2025–2026): Served as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he oversaw high-profile cases like the narco-terrorism indictment of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

• Director of National Intelligence (2026–Present): Nominated by President Trump and confirmed by the Senate to oversee the nation's intelligence community.

It sounds as if he has an extensive career to be an AI czar. Totally qualified and highly versed with a long background in and knowledge of AI.

Jared Kushner tied to new 'alarming' deal day after he blasted 'misleading' scandal story

Jared Kushner's questionable ties to a deal he helped negotiate are again in the spotlight a day after he spoke out to defend himself.

On Saturday, The New York Times reported that Kushner's business partners stand to profit from a Russian oil deal he helped broker. A day earlier, Kushner took to X to blast a CNN report scrutinizing his business dealings in Israel.

Talks between the Trump administration and Russia over ending the war in Ukraine have widened to include a multibillion-dollar sale of international assets owned by Lukoil, one of Russia's largest oil companies, the Times reported. Russian President Vladimir Putin raised the deal during a September 5 Kremlin meeting with Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff, according to the report.

ALSO READ: 'MAGA morons' and 'insanity': Retiring GOP senator unleashes ruthless Trump onslaught

The leading group bidding for Lukoil's assets includes Trump megadonor Todd Boehly, a federal agency and two Middle Eastern investment groups with business ties to Kushner or Witkoff's family. One is a Qatar-based conglomerate run by brothers Moutaz and Ramez Al-Khayyat, who have partnered with Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, on a luxury resort in Albania.

Another member of the group is a fund controlled by Emirati national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose separate fund Lunate ranks among the biggest backers of Kushner's private equity firm.

The Times found no sign that Kushner or Witkoff would personally profit. But a senior administration official confirmed both men had a direct hand in shaping the federal government's financial stake, pushing for a "substantial upfront payment and profits interest for the United States."

Hui Chen, a former Justice Department prosecutor and ethics adviser, raised red flags about the arrangement.

"This is an alarming and very concerning set of entanglements," Chen told the Times. "And it means you have to question how the Trump administration is evaluating the different bidders involved here. Are the personal interests involved going to wrongly influence the outcome?"

The revelations land one day after Kushner went on the offensive against CNN, which reported Thursday that his firm Affinity Partners is the top shareholder in an Israeli financial company invested in suppliers to Israel's military. CNN noted it found no evidence his diplomacy affected those holdings.

"For the last 10 years, I have ignored false and misleading stories about me and focused on the work," Kushner posted on X Friday. He called CNN's story "deeply misleading" and vowed to start publicly rebutting coverage he views as inaccurate.

Ex-US congressman sentenced to 10 years in prison for $50m lobbying scheme

A former US congressman has been sentenced to 10 years in a federal prison for money laundering and working as an undeclared foreign agent.

David Rivera, 61, who was elected as a Florida Republican, was found guilty in May after a seven-week trial heard Venezuela's state-run oil company hired his consulting firm to lobby members of Congress to help improve US relations with Venezuela.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a former housemate of Rivera, and Texas congressman Pete Sessions both testified to the court that they had no idea about his activities.

Defence lawyers had said the lobbying was for a US subsidiary of the oil company, not the Venezuelan government.

Rivera's associate, political consultant Esther Nuhfer, who was tried alongside him, was also found guilty in the case.

As a part of his sentence, Rivera, who served in Congress from 2011-13, must also forfeit his Florida properties.

Federal prosecutors in Florida said Rivera and Nuhfer engaged in a "secret political influence campaign", receiving a $50m (£37m) contract for three months of work on behalf of a US-based subsidiary of Venezuelan state oil firm PDVSA, which is also known as Citgo.

Prosecutors alleged that, in 2017 and 2018, at the behest of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro's government, Rivera and Nuhfer attempted to lobby Rubio - then still a senator and former housemate of Rivera - as well as Kellyanne Conway, a former senior White House adviser.

The lobbying came during a moment of tense relations between the US and Venezuela, during President Donald Trump's first term in the White House when his administration imposed sanctions on the South American country.

Defence lawyers for Rivera and Nuhfer argued that the pair did not need to register as foreign agents because their contract was with a US-based subsidiary of a Venezuelan state company.

But Judge Melissa Damian said during Friday's sentencing: "There's no dispute this money came from the Maduro regime."

Rubio, who was not implicated in the wrongdoing, testified during the trial that he was close friends with Rivera but was unaware he was working as a lobbyist.

Trump doxed Tom Cotton over Daylight savings time.........

Trump posts GOP senator’s cell phone number over daylight savings act stall

President Trump posted Sen. Tom Cotton’s (R-Ark.) cell phone number on Truth Social Saturday, lashing out at Senate Republicans to move forward with legislation that would make daylight saving time permanent.

“Tom Cotton, a friend of mine, is holding up a very important Bill,” Trump wrote, describing the Sunshine Protection Act. “For some reason, Tom is stopping the Bill and, in the Senate, it’s very easy to do, it only takes one! It should pass overwhelmingly, in a Bipartisan fashion.”

“To the Great People of Arkansas, please let your Senator know it would be a GREAT Bipartisan WIN for the United States Senate, and for America, itself. Call Tom on his cellphone,” the president continued before he wrote the number. “Let him know.”

Trump blamed Cotton for the bill — which he called the “No More Changing of Clocks Act” — stalling in the Senate after it passed the House with a 308-117 vote.

When asked about the post, Cotton’s office referred to the senator’s statement shared on social platform X, where he said, “No one likes changing the clock, me included, but Congress has enacted permanent Daylight Savings Time multiple times before and repealed it each time once Americans experienced absurdly late sunrises in the winter.”

“Arkansans don’t want their kids going to school in the pitch dark, and I’ll always put Arkansas first,” he concluded.

Cotton, who chairs the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, has been among the most vocal opponents of permanent daylight saving time —expressing concern that without the twice a year clock changes, many children heading to school and millions of Americans traveling to work would be left in the dark.

“If permanent daylight saving time becomes the law of the land, it will again make winter a dark and dismal time for millions of Americans,” he said last year.

Trump countered that more evening daylight would help reduce crime and traffic accidents, while benefiting public health and industries including sports, tourism, restaurants and retail.

In his Saturday Truth Social post, Trump continued that the bill would help the PGA Tour who “needs more Daylight in the afternoon in order to finish their Tournaments.”

“Likewise, regular Golfers, Tennis Players, Hunters and, perhaps most importantly, Farmers who want more Daylight to play or work,” he added.

The post included a letter from PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp who wrote in “strong support” of the bill — citing that it would generate $1 billion annually in new direct revenue for the sport.

Trump has pushed for the Sunshine Protect Act’s passage since August, but Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) has cast doubt on whether the measure can secure the 60 votes needed to advance.

Federal Statutes and Jurisdiction

Because Washington, D.C. is a federal enclave and seat of government, certain doxing incidents may cross into federal territory:

Fox News ... the nations most followed "news network" - interviews a man claiming he met Jesus while in a coma for 18 days.

I'd say unbelievable but apparently this is big news in MAGA land.

This is a MAGA thing?

Only in your imagination, bub. Well over 20% of people who experience a near-death experience (NDE) report seeing or meeting Jesus.

Jesus doesn't ask their political affiliation, but I bet it's about 50/50 since that equates to millions of people.

Weird post. 😬

My problem with it was the fact that it's on a freaking (supposedly) "News Show" - and no it's not overtly MAGA to see Jesus. It seems more so when he's spouting stuff about Jesus being angry and like a mustang and because this was Fox News.

If 20% of people who experience near death report seeing jesus (or whichever deity they believe in I assume) -- then Gabe isn't exactly news is he? I heard a good analogy that applies - if a dog bites a man, it's not news. Its an every day occurance. Man bites dog would be newsworthy.... so 200,000 + near death experiences each year in just America - 20% of them see jesus or some other deity. It's not really news. Maybe I just suspect or expect an agenda in portraying jesus as a fiery angry dude, maybe I expect Fox or it's viewers to then suggest Jesus is angry because of these damned sinful and Un-American communists in the country, and all those Trans people...

Wow. That does seem a bit triggering.

I'm still trying to understand though. You just think it shouldn't be on the news or mad because it's about Jesus?

I mean, MSNOW, over the last week, has had stories about an empty energy drink can hoarder, a rogue emu and a diamondback terrapin turtle that was born with two heads. Would you just draw the line if the hoarder was saving the cans for Jesus?

I think you make a pretty good point. These "news networks" for the most part report on things that really aren't "news". And their "talk shows" are more about entertaining and catering to their target audience than anything else. They're trying to fill their airwaves 24/7 with "news" which there isn't enough actual news to fill it with. So a lot of it is more fluff and strictly to invoke emotion from their audience than to be informative. Much as you have pointed out it's a two sided coin.

Right? I can barely watch anymore. That's why legacy media is dying and "randos" are taking up the slack.

Remember back when they each had an hour a day to report news? It was ALL news with a 20 second "feel good" story at the end.

"Those were the days".

I do not believe that trump is suggesting Iran "should take out" these cities. But that doesn't change what he said. He is saying if Iran were to attack on U.S. soil let them take out L.A. and San Diego. That's no less disgusting. At what point does the right wing say enough is enough?

I remember. I'm not sure we agree on what "legacy media" means however. Maybe that's because of my age. I was in my 20's when CNN first aired and almost 40 when FOX News first aired. So I don't quite consider them a "legacy". At least not yet. But I get what you're saying. I think back to the days of Huntley and Brinkley and Walter Cronkite when I think of legacy media. Those men actually left behind a legacy. But then so did Edward R. Murrow. Some of his quotes still resonate with me to this day.

The problem with "randos" taking over is that in most cases they are even less accurate and more bias then either FOX News or CNN. And then there's the fact that some people repeat and spread that even when knowing that's true. That seems to be even further going down the rabbit hole.

The saddest part for me is that it only seems to be getting worse. I think we can agree that most all of these "news channels" have their share of bias. But it has gotten to the point that bias is now on steroids with channels like MS Now, OAN and Newsmax arriving on the scene.

Trump says his super PAC will pay for taxpayer-funded ads that sparked backlash for glorifying him

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Monday that he will stop using taxpayer funds for television advertisements glorifying himself that sparked a major backlash, and instead tap his super PAC to cover costs going forward.

In a post on his social media site, Trump defended the ads, which cost at least $1.5 million in federal funds and have drawn intense criticism. Trump said they were “positive promotion for our Great U.S.A.”

“This is a rather standard thing to do,” the president wrote, while blaming intense criticism for using taxpayer funds on the ads on the “Radical Left.” But the president added that he’d “decided to do the Patriotic Ads, among others, and pay for them myself, and with money I raised for MAGA, Inc.”

That is Trump’s political war chest, which had amassed more than $400 million by the end of July. Trump has begun to tap it to boost Republican candidates around the country ahead of midterm elections.

Trump provided no details on reimbursing taxpayers for ads that already aired, nor how he would go about having his political organization pay for such future advertising.

The White House — which had fiercely defended using taxpayer money on spots meant to promote the president — said Monday night that MAGA Inc. will pay for such ads going forward. It did not answer questions on how it or Trump might prove that his political funds were being used on such future advertising.

Trump’s abrupt about-face came after leaders from both parties criticized using taxpayer funds for the ads.

Legal experts said the ads might even violate federal statutes, including a law against congressionally appropriated funds being used for “publicity or propaganda” and one limiting the partisan political activities of government employees.

The spots began airing in late September

The first ad featured clips of Trump talking about defeating communism interspersed with onscreen text promoting the “largest tax cuts in history,” “reigniting American manufacturing” and a call to “defend law and order and police.”

Later the same week, a second ad began running. It showed scenic videos of Mount Rushmore with quotes and clips from Trump’s Fourth of July weekend speech there honoring the country’s 250th anniversary.

A third, more recent one was virtually identical to an ad for Trump’s Republican reelection campaign in 2024 and showed him walking down a hallway as his voice can be heard warning of a “final battle” against “globalists” and “warmongers.”

All ended with a message: “Paid for by the U.S. Government.”

According to AdImpact, which tracks media spending, the spots had cost at least $1.4 million by the end of September. The actual amount spent could be far more, depending on whether networks classified the ad as a political ad.

That would be a point of no return for sure !! Yes - maybe it's a bit triggered. Maybe it was an innocent fill in piece. I haven't watched Fox for a while now - but often I saw it weaponizing any story it can to attack opponents to Trump/MAGA. Much the same way MSNBC would do the same in reverse - MSNBC may have less than half as many viewers overall but it's the same thing that's been discussed on this board: Politicians and Media basically spend most of their time attacking what they see as their opposition. . . as I said maybe not on this story. Guess we can wait and see if it has legs or if thats it.

I will say that they have weaponized Christianity to the point of convincing many in the MAGA world that if you aren't a part of MAGA you are a part of the Godless hoards. That is dangerous territory.

Pit you are correct that nowhere is it found that being MAGA, conservative, or Republican makes you righteous with God. The Bible says that the only way to be righteous is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you do not accept Jesus Christ righteousness cannot be found anywhere else. On that same topic though a Christian can never support Abortion. That is killing someone made in the image of God. A Christian can never support gay marriage. The Bible clearly defined marriage as between 1 man and 1 woman. The two join as one to form an even more perfect image of God. A Christian can never support homosexuality and transgenderism. They can love the person but hate their sin. That is not the same, and acceptance is not love it is actually the opposite of love. It is clear multiple times in the Bible what God thinks of the sin of homosexuality.

By legacy I mean (and I'm pretty sure by definition): Print, Radio, Broadcast TV.

Anyway, as far as the accuracy angle, there is definitely more of a tendency for the fringe to create a little critical mass; however, there's also a lot of news that has been broken by those that are just beating the street.

You can agree or not agree; most "news" organizations have at least a "bit" of an agenda. so most "stories" have to hurdle that agenda before they ever hit the airwaves. From that standpoint, we should all be thankful a lot of the randos beating the street have a voice. It's not all b.s., and there are plenty of cases where that news survives a [censored] meter that national media never faces.

As far as "the sad part", I agree 100%. Just as sad to me is that many of the national sources choose bias by omission. I'm aware we don't see eye-to-eye on many of these issues, but acting like there were no issues at the border for four years was disgusting.

It's crazy today... and I've made a practice of jumping back and forth during my day if I'm working or chillin' around the house... but France is on FIRE. It's wall-to-wall coverage on FOX with the narrative being that mass migration and the loony-left is driving the riots.

ABC does a short segment showing some law enforcement talking to a few students like they're discussing the weather. Then they move right on to a story about climate change. FOX shows the mass protest, cops in riot gear, teargas everywhere, crap being throws at cops, etc... You won't see the Palestinian flags flying around Paris on ABC, that's for sure.

A picture tells a thousand words; it all depends on which picture you choose to represent the situation.

Edit: I forget the best part from ABC... "things aren't as bad today as in previous days". 😲

To this point we agree.

First, there is a difference between "supporting something" and deciding that you shouldn't force your religious beliefs on others. I have the right to live as I so choose. I was faced with a pregnancy early in my life and the choice was to keep the baby and not choose abortion. I have known and know people who are gay and they are good and decent people. The way our system is set up without gay marriage they are denied rights that straight, married people get. Once again my religious beliefs have nothing to do with me supporting they be discriminated against. Our nation was set up in the fashion that we should all be treated equally. At least in theory.

Our nation isn't ran by "the laws of God". I also don't think everything decided for all people, some of which believe differently or not at all should be dictated by a single religion even if that religions beliefs to some extent reflect my own. We have freedom of religion as well as from religion. Something our own forefathers were fully aware of how much it impacted their own lives while they were still in England.

Now let's get back to abortion and this myth that keeps being perpetuated. I once again will remind you that I do not "support abortion" and when faced with that choice fully agreed that was not an option I would ever choose.

But let's get real about this. When God decided to flood the entire earth during the time of Noah, he "chose" to kill every embryo, every fetus and every child on the face of the earth. Every son and every daughter of every woman and man. What were these great sins these embryos, fetuses and children committed to be given the death penalty by the Almighty God?

Then there is this one..............

2 Kings 2:23-24 KJV (King James Version)

And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

For making fun of a bald man, really? As such they received the death penalty?

I'm not using these examples as a reason to "allow people to choose" abortion or not. I'm using them as examples that maybe, just maybe God hasn't always been "pro life".

I don't think we disagree enough to argue about at this point. I would like to point out a couple of things however. I have already agreed with you that both sides are bias and paint their own narrative. And I also agree that a part of that is created with bias by omission.

Places we disagree, and that's more about the suggestive part of your post than anything factually based is this........

First "a lot of the randos" are there to do nothing more than amplify the bias and division. In that respect they are simply adding to the problem. I am happy they do have a voice because the constitution gives them that right and luckily we don't have our nations leader attacking them every time they voice a dissenting viewpoint, yet. Something we have totally left out of the discussion to this point. And I agree that it's not "all BS" Just the vast, vast majority of it.

As far as "there are plenty of cases" is concerned I think it's much more rare than your verbiage indicates. Especially if you take per capita into account.

Most of that difference is probably more about our personal perception than anything else.

And the reason I think we may see the term "legacy media" differently is because of the very word legacy being included in that description. A legacy is something you leave behind after you're gone. Something carried on from the past. I get that legacy media is a term used to describe exactly what you are saying. I just believe that term is way off base. That's why I brought up journalists from the past to show what a legacy in broadcasting means to me.

To paraphrase the Pretenders. My City is Gone.

Yeah it hits quite close when you live in San Diego county with Camp Pendleton as your backyard.

Just add it to the list of stupid things said.

President Trump said Monday that reporters from The New York Times and other media outlets should be “arrested” over their coverage of his Saturday rally in Ohio.

“The Ohio Arena was already full to the brim — And yet these people were still trying to get in,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, sharing a video of people in line for the rally.

New York Times correspondent Katie Rogers wrote Sunday that “several areas of an upper deck were empty” by the time the president finished speaking at Butler High School in Vandalia.

The school’s student center, where the event took place, has a capacity of 4,500 people, Rogers noted.

“The New York Times, and many other Artificial Media Outlets, should be arrested for their dishonesty and disservice to our Country,” the president added, accusing outlets of inflating crowds for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and downplaying how many people attend his rallies.

“The Arena was totally MAXED OUT, including all upper sections,” Trump wrote in a subsequent post. “What does happen at all of my SOLD OUT Rallies, is that the people in the upper sections tend to migrate down to the Main Floor — The ‘migration’ process always happens!”

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/6130397-trump-media-arrests-ohio-rally/

How can you "migrate down" to a place where all of the seats are full? It was certainly full at the beginning of his speech. But then again if a POTUS can't fill a 4500 seat high school auditorium what would that say? An AC/DC cover band could fill up a 450 seat auditorium. I wonder why they aren't scheduling larger venues? Once again we see the president calling for the press who opposes him be punished by the legal system. The constitution means nothing to this man.

Some see them as stupid. Others see it as such a man not only saying such things, but getting millions upon millions to support the crazy things he says is quite dangerous. I consider it far more dangerous than stupid. History should have taught us all how following this path ends up. It's never good.
