DeWine urges Ramaswamy to take down Acton ad

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Republican Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has denounced a controversial ad featuring the estranged mother of Dr. Amy Acton, taking sides with the Democratic candidate for governor and former member of his Cabinet over her Republican rival, Vivek Ramaswamy.

At a gathering with reporters at the Statehouse in Columbus, DeWine called the ad “deeply, deeply troubling.”

“It’s wrong to run this ad,” he said. “I would urge Ramaswamy’s campaign to take this down.”

DeWine’s remarks place him at odds with Ramaswamy, whom he has endorsed. The biotech entrepreneur and 2024 presidential candidate has taken responsibility for the 60-second video, which has drawn bipartisan rebukes, and is spending $4 million to broadcast it online and on TV.

The police have been called to the Acton residence multiple times over the years. She has a drinking and prescription drug problem. She refuses to debate. She will not allow cameras at her campaign events. She was caught in lies during covid. She quit when things got tough. She worked for DeWine, but he endorsed Vivek. She is a doctor but the Ohio State Medical Association endorsed Vivek. Why is it that those that worked with her do not endorse her? Her own mother calls her a liar. Coincidence? I think not.

What evidence do you have to support those claims that she has an alcohol and prescription drug problem? She has never been to rehab and I've seen no documentation that would confirm your accusation. She has no criminal record.

You do realize that if you want to know what she says at her rallies you are welcome to attend one. These rallies are open to anyone and she is not elected to the position she is running for.

I don't think any politician is perfect. The most squeaky clean one recently was probably Mike Pence and trump ended up treating him like crap because he followed the constitution.
