When Myles was traded I really didn't know much about him.
Then all the build up came that he was DROY in 2024. He was the key for the Browns in making the trade.
It was stated by local media we would love the guy. Big heart and lots of effort.
We play game 9 Sunday. He has done very little.
Then the Steeler game and he runs his mouth. Obviously the Steelers on their field were not going to let it go. He got lifted and slammed.
Now he is pissed because his teammates didn't back him according to Verse.
Honestly, I don't care much for trash talk unless it is backed up. What I do care about is on field production. He is at the bottom of the league in all categories.
He needs to play better. Now he may have created a locker room problem.
"Hey Verse, let your play do the talking and earn your keep."

Myself, I don't care for trash talk from anyone. Completely agree, but I am old and remember when players tossed the ball back to the ref on TDs. Hopefully Verse starts playing like he was expected to.

we can tolerate an awful lot if you are producing and we are winning ... unfortunately he's been horrible and has been doubling down on the trash talk, which directly led to the Steelers destroying us
In terms of his play, I don't see anything of value thus far.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Boston is far to the left as KC settles into the slot. Fannin is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Sampson are split in the backfield as the ball is hiked ... Here we go."

I think Verse has the attitude and fire that is needed for the defense to take the step to the next level. I will admit that he needs to do more, but his fire is needed to push others to the top of their game.
The Cleveland Browns - WE KNOW QUARTERBACKS ( Look at how many we've had ... )

I don't mind a little trash talking but if you're going to do it back it up at least somewhat. I heard that Verse has to get used to the D we play in comparison to what he played with the Rams. That's fine if true but how long is the learning curve going to be? He has the talent and the attitude to be a leader on this team but he needs to back it up with his play.

Much like arch I don't care for the trash talk by players. But if you're going to trash talk, have the resume' and ability to back it up. Vers lacks that. has been doubling down on the trash talk, which directly led to the Steelers destroying us The Steelers had beaten the Browns 22 times in a row at home prior this game. I think laying the loss at the feet of Vers over a little trash taking is quite a reach.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

The way the Steelers ran through and over our 'D' maybe Verse should move to MLB

I'm not a fan of trash-talking, but I know some players thrive on it.
With that said, Schwesinger says a lot. There is a lot to read into his presser.
Is everyone happy with Verse?

JMO, Verse doesn't want to play for the Browns...trade him for a 2027 draft pick.

It's not about how things start, it's about how they end. There are still 9 games to go. Let's see how the rest of the season goes before we start looking to trade the guy. I am not ready to write off his first 2 seasons as flukes and this seasons sample as the reality. I'd also caution that there might be some comparing to Garrett. I'd say 98% of players are going to look inadequate when viewed in those terms.
Verse just needs to play his game and not try to fill the ghost of Garrett.

I am not positive but it seems like he is not being used as a pure DE.
I need to pay more attention to his role. I have noticed him dropping into coverage. It seems like he is playing OLB at times.
Myles has way more moves to rush the passer. Verse plays straight up. I don't see any swim and dip move.
I don't see a featured true edge rusher in him.

The most logical comments I've read about Verse are that he was a 4-3 DE in college and thrived. He came to the NFL and they wanted him to be a 3-4 Edge and he thrived. He has trained to be the stand-up Edge since he was drafted...right up until he was traded. Now he's a traditional 4-3 DE. Might take an off-season to get back to what he was in college.
I'd make that trade still today.

He is not going anywhere.
So, he is going to have to perform.
Not thrilled by his comments.
So far he has not done much.

So far he has not done much. In today's NFL, you cannot make a player perform who does not want to be in Cleveland.
Verse biggest concern looking forward, is his future.. where he will be playing and finding a team that is willing to pay him a huge contract.
From Verse perspective, his NFL career is in limbo and he is not about to play on his rookie contract for a team that is rebuilding.
He is not performing on the field and now his attitude is bleeding over and into the locker room with his criticism of his teammates.
The only thing the Browns can do is either negotiate a huge future contract or trade him asap..jmo, mac

Here is my only issue with your post. In today's NFL, you cannot make a player perform who does not want to be in Cleveland. Your very next statement was this........ Verse biggest concern looking forward, is his future.. where he will be playing and finding a team that is willing to pay him a huge contract. You can't have one without the other. If he plays like crap here who would offer him some huge contract? To further his career and future contractual wealth a player has to be playing well while he's here.

I just hope Haslam and Berry don't pay the guy just to put a happy face on the MG trade.. verse is not happy in Cleveland.
