I went with yes... i know I'm going to get hammered for this, and I always HATED cheerleaders... but working with them up close I really appreciated a lot of what they did for the Texans. So I went with yes... I figure that you have cheerleaders at every level of the game, why not at the professional level.

I don't need or want some airheaded dorks, male or female, shouting at me when to cheer for my team (especially when they're not watching the game anyway).
It's too "high school" or "college". We're adults, most of us men, and if we want to see attractive women we'll go home to our wives, to the internet, to magazines or to a strip club. Why go to a stadium that sits 60+ thousand people, be hundreds of feet away and get excited about women doing lame coordinated dances for a team then know NOTHING about?

Where's the "Not just NO, but HELL NO!" choice? I was wondering how long it would be before this poll was put up. Didn't have to wait long. LOL! Anyway, it's not that I'm opposed to cheerleaders, I just don't think the Browns need them. I would be ok with them using the high schoolers again. Support the local schools, give those squads a thrill of a lifetime. Paid professionals? Nah. I don't pay attention to them anyway (whether the high schoolers or not). My seats are too damn far away to see them very well or hear them at all.

You know BB, that's an idea I could be happy with. Let the local high school girls have an opportunity to cheer them on. Unless the fans start looking at them too creepy....you know who you are.

Im not trying to make a big deal out of this. People say they want to keep our "proud tradition." Quite frankly im confused by this. Hate to emphasize that our tradition isnt as good as people like to think. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN OR HOSTED A SUPERBOWL. Im sorry if it offends the actualy people that were alive during our championships. I wasnt even born during that time. The one positive about this is the feeling I will have when we do win.

Has nothing to do with tradition for most of us. I sure as heck wasn't around for the 64 Championship. I just don't think we need cheerleaders. We've got 70K+ in the stands.

I'm curious. Why vote yes? See, kind of a silly question, isn't it? Clearly peope would vote NO because they don't want them, just like people that do will vote YES.

Plus most NFL cheerleaders do more than just stand on the sidelines during game day... they do a lot of work in the community to help promote their teams.

Unfortunately the closet seats I've had were 17 rows up from the field around the 20 yard line. That was the QB controversey game where Couch got whacked in the head near the goalline against the Ravens and Holcomb lead them back to an almost victory. Set me back quite a bit for a birthday gift to my dad that game.

No. They bring nothing to the game. I'm watching what goes on between the lines, not the sidelines.

I think we just need to replace the concession vendors working the aisles with cheerleaders that will deliver our snacks and beverages. What the heck good are they to anyone down on the field? We need more scantily clad ladies up in The Pound
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I think the XFL experimented with that same idea.
The Chicago Blackhawks have some girls that clean the ice between play and roam around the arena for pictures and promotions. I call them the Ice Skanks but it's something a little more "family friendly". Anyway, I was watching the game when 3 of them came out near my seat. One was a very beautiful woman/girl. I could help wonder why such a beautiful woman would waste her time doing this junk (especially for such a crappy NHL team). The other two were AWFUL! They looked like they just got spit out the bottem end of the porn industry. Yuck!
My point? Most "professional cheerleaders" are skanky women that aren't good looking anyway. Why let them in the stadium?

Do the Browns NEED cheerleaders? No. If the browns did not have cheerleaders they would continue their day to day football operations as normal. So no, I dont think the Browns NEED football cheerleaders to continue their day to day football operations.
the question was worded improperly.

Then it should not affect you one way or the other if we have cheerleaders on the sidelines or not.. right? Does it bother you that the sidelines and endzone are lined with reporters, cameramen, VIPs, friends and family, etc.? They bring nothing to the game either...
I'm not as opposed to cheerleaders as I am logos and the uniform... I'm very much a traditionalist when it comes to the uniform, but the cheerleaders are not "the team"...... I could live with cheerleaders as long as it was done with a little more class than some teams show...

I believe it actually cheapens the organization. Having scantily clad women on the sidelines does nothing for the team and they are only there for men to drool over.
Now if you wanted to have cheerleaders like colleges, that are more of a pep squad, then I wouldn't be as opposed to that.

So you want male cheerleaders, like the Ravens have?

Having met and gotten to talk with all of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders I have to disagree 100%... at least in terms of NFL cheerleaders. The Texans Cheerleaders were all absolutely goregous but also very sweet girls many of whom are hard workers in other fields and can hold a good conversation.

I wonder how cheerleaders would look during the Buffalo game last year?
