p.s. this is the single greatest youtube video ever, ever.

I couldn't tell U the first thing about hockey, but it's evident that that Hextall guy is one mean mickie flickie! Nice vid, LeBron, thanks for sharing. BTW, I have 2 questions:

1) Did I hear the announcer say that Mr. Hextall is the only goalie to ever score a goal?

2) Who is the artist singing on the video?

1. hextall was the first goalie to score a legitimate goal (other goalies have scored, but it was because they were the last on their team to touch the puck before it went in) he was also the first to score a goal in the playoffs (again, at the time, marty brodeur did it about 10 years later

2. it's puff daddy doing a remix of kashmir by led zeppelin, jimmy paige was on hand for guitars too, it was made for the godzilla movie (which sucked)

yeah, i loved watching hextall when i was a kid, i don't play like him, but that dude never backed down from anyone, he was a gamer

As I'm not a hockey fan I can't agree with you. I'd rather watch Jim Brown breaking tackles on the way to the end zone. Hockey is too violent for my taste. The game is incidental to gang warfare on ice. IMO

I'm not much on BBall either but I'd rather watch LeBron James hitting 3's or slam dunkin hangin on the rim than this crap. Again, that's my opinion.

BTW I have been to live NHL hockey games many years ago.

Mark Price is the true sports love of my life

Bernie Kosar and Hanford Dixon

Dixon is the reason I play defense in football.

That and I can't always catch real well!

it's not for everyone...

it's a violent game, but that's just the way it goes, today's nhl is nowhere near the violent game that it was 20-30+ years ago...

they've cracked down on a lot of stuff too... they have all but fazed out the goon, or the enforcer, every guy on the team has to be somewhat of a complete player, if the guy is still an enforcer, he can also probably play the game, back in the day, you had guys who were probably low-level minor league talent playing in the nhl, strictly to protect star players...

although fighting happens in all the sports... and with football, don't act like things don't happen when there is a pile up over a fumble... i've heard the horror stories...

not to mention the way the nfl was played in the 70's and 80's, with the cheap shots, late hits, and headhunting...

the nfl is no clean sport, but we all watch it.

I wish I was astute enough to call him an idol when I was just a boy, every year i find more and more meaning in his ESPY speech and now as an adult I absolutely consider him a hero

nice list, ORJ

Don't feel bad about the passage of time... we are when we are.

To your list, I'd add:

Browns:

Lou Groza
Leroy Kelly
Bernie Parrish
Vince Costello

others:
Deacon Jones
The Orr Bros.
Sandy Koufax
Roman Gabriel

man... there are so many.

It's kinda cool to see all the names, from various decades. We Browns fans really do span the generations.

exceptional.

Marshal Faulk, Eddie George, Randy Johnson, Pudge, Mike Piazza, Jim Thome, (Reds fan, but for some reason I used to like the Tribe also) Ken Griffey Jr., Chris Carter, Barry Larkin, Kenny Lofton, Allen Iverson, (messed up, I know) Rich Gannon, Kurt Warner, Orlando Pace, and Tony Gonzalez.

No one from the Browns, because the either didn't have a team, or well, the sucked. I mostly just learned about players through video games, my brother and dad, and the t.v. AI, for example. My dad fell asleep when flipping through the channels, and I watched a 76ers game. I thought he was good, even though I had never heard of him before, and he became my favorite player. To this day I am an Iverson fan because he is a good, unique player, and I decided he was going to be my favorite player when I was five.
