Yes, I was so bored during the Big Red Machine days. I could barely stay awake during the back to back World Series Championships.

The Colts boards. You so much as think of an insinuation of negativity against the Colts and you are gone. Not just Patriot fans. I've heard of this from 49ers fans and Bronco fans too.

"Have I ever rubbed it in that the Indians are the proud owners of the 2nd biggest choke of all of sports? Umm no I haven't."

So, if I am reading this correctly, then you are saying the Indians had the 2nd biggest choke in all of sports? Should I assume you are referring to the '07 Indians losing the 3-1 lead (Yes, I am an Indians fan...and yes, they have choked on many occasions).

But 2nd biggest ever? In all of sports? Really? You must not be as big of a Boston fan as you believe. I think there might have been an ALCS that pitted the Yankees to a 3-0 lead against the same Red Sox for which you claim to cheer. I believe that might be a bigger choke job.

Also, as long as we are talking about Boston sports here, there is this routine ground ball play in the 1986 World Series that could have won a championship for Boston. I hear the Mets won that year though...what happened?

Let me get this straight. You called Jules a frontrunner because she roots for the Reds instead of the Tribe?

I didn't "rub anything in"until I was attacked by Jules unprovoked.

Yes 3-1 is the 2nd biggest choke in sports like I mentioned with the '07 Indians. (the Indians could have closed the door on their own field) The 1st and biggest being the ' 04 Yankees in the ALCS. We agree on that. Obviously you didn't realize that.Sorry if I take pride in the fact that both times a team came back it was the Red Sox.

'86 World Series (Bill 'freakin' Buckner) That hurt. Yes the Mets did win that year. The '04 and '07 Red Sox made it a tiny bit easier to forget that. That is along the lines of what I was saying is that the Super Bowl loss was easier to absorb then most people think it was. Cleveland fans say (at a party if your friend needs to use the bathroom) ... Do you have to take a #1 or a Modell. Boston fans do the same with Buckner.

Could I make fun of how many times Cleveland teams have choked in the past 25 years? Yes I could. Do I choose to? ... No.
I'm on Cleveland's side.

Either she cheers for the Reds because they have won the title and the Indians haven't OR she doesn't cheer for the Bengals because half of them are in jail and the Browns are a better storied franchise. Either way... either you are loyal to your home city...... or your not. It isn't rocket science. I have a real hard time arguing with a person who cheers for a different team in every different sport. That to me is a total joke.

Yeah, you probably would have an easier time arguing with a person who cheers for the Browns in baseball, basketball and hockey.

I think you are forgetting "The Comback", the biggest comeback in NFL history. Oilers had Buffalo down 35-3 in the 1992 AFC Divisional playoff game with 1:41 into the third quarter. Buffalo was without Jim Kelly, Cornelious Bennett, and Thurman Thomas.

Buffalo scores 28 points in the rest of the third and wins the game in overtime.

OBTW, I found this nice little tidbit on Wikipedia's Choke (sports) page

The modern epitomy of clutch performance, the New England Patriots had dubbed a dynasty after winning three Super Bowls in four seasons (XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX) However, two high-profile losses have brought them into debates about the team choking. In the 2006 AFC Championship Game, the Patriots led their bitter rivals, the Indianapolis Colts (who in recent years considered chokers as contrasted to the clutch Patriots), 21-6 after halftime. They would end up losing the game 38-34, in the largest collapse by a team in an AFC Championship . The following 2007 season, the Patriots had a perfect 16-0 regular season, and had set many individual and team records. Then in Super Bowl XLII, as the favored team to beat the NFC Champion New York Giants, the Patriots scored only 14 points, their lowest total of the season, and their defense allowed Giants quarterback Eli Manning to lead his team to victory with a game-winning touchdown drive in the final minutes of the 4th quarter.

How about some baseball:

Fewer teams qualify for postseason play in Major League Baseball than in the NFL, so the "choke" label in baseball is more frequently appended to a team that blows a substantial lead late in a pennant race. Probably the two most prominent examples of this have been the Chicago Cubs (most notably in 1969, 1973, 1984 and 2003) and the Boston Red Sox (most notably in 1978, when they relinquished a 14-game lead in their division, ultimately losing a one-game playoff for the division title to the New York Yankees

here's another one:

The Boston Red Sox were also involved in another heartbreaking choke in 1986, when they lost a 2 run lead in the 10th inning of Game 6 (with the Sox leading 3 games to 2) when there were 2 men out and no one on base and the count 0-2 . The New York Mets rallied to win Game 6 (with help from Bill Buckner) and then went on to win Game 7 and take their first World Series title since 1969. I added the part in yellow.

just thought I'd add my .02

Things happen. I'm not denying that. I could go on about all of Cleveland's "chokes" but there aren't enough hours in a day to cover them all. Your not rubbing anything in because as a Boston sports fan, I have other things to look forward to. Even more, there aren't enough hours in a day to talk about how many players left Cleveland and won a title. Or even an entire team that left Cleveland and then won a title. Spare me the grief. You can't win 'em all every year. Cleveland would just like to win 1 in ANY sport. You have a damn good soccer team but nobody cares about it. Beggers can't be choosers dude.

I still can't believe that this started with the Steelers and I get attacked by Browns fans. There are some serious wires crossed somewhere.

I don't live in Cleveland or Cincinnati so the home city crap is meaningless, just like your logic. I know a lot of people in my area who are Reds and Browns fans. They were Browns fans before the Bengals came into the league and they've always been Reds fans, or their parents were Browns fans and they became Browns fans from that. I suppose they are frontrunners. LMAO. I've been rooting for the Reds since I was a child, so the front runner thing is ridiculous and with no merit. I never followed the Bengals but became a Browns fan in college at OSU when I roomed with a bunch of Browns fans. How you come to the conclusions you do are beyond me.

Again, you have no clue what a front runner is, probably because you are one.

I hope they save a seat for you on the short bus in the morning.

No, this started out as an Anti-*Pats thread. Check the title of the thread if you need help understanding that.

And the reason you're being "attacked" by Browns fans on here is because you're accusing others of being front runners. Not only that, but it's hard to have any respect for a fan who excuses his teams cheating ways, which you are doing.

You're not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, are ya Cheatriot?

In my estimation, a frontrunner is someone who lacks loyalty. That's because they pick and choose the teams to be fans of based on the success of that team. To me, frontrunners don't stick with the same team their whole lives, because no team is successful year in and year out.

Just because Jules is fans of the teams who were on top when she was growing up doesn't make her a frontrunner. She stayed loyal to her teams through their troubles.

It doesn't mean she can only be fans of the teams from the same city. Most people let their allegiances lie that way, but that's not how it has to be.

LeBron James was a frontrunner growing up because he's said his favorite teams are the Bulls, Cowboys, and Yankees. But he's stayed loyal to those sports teams, and while that may give Cavs fans headaches when it comes to Cleveland football and baseball, he's not a frontrunner now. If he was, he would have jumped on the Patriots bandwagon for football, and hopped between Houston, San Antonio, L.A. Lakers and whoever else in basketball.

Jules was the one starting all the front runner B.S. Unprovoked and for no reason. Learn how to read. I never justified video taping Christy so stop making things up and snap out of your fantasy world. I mentioned that every team is doing something. I never said it was ok so don't bother using that. Your excuse (or denial) of the steroid use of the Steelers (when players have admitted it) speaks for itself. Now the two of you are getting into personal attacks etc. etc. and calling me a "Cheatriot" fan.? What's next in your bag of tricks? A nanner nanner naaaaner? The two of you are fresh out of ammo.
This argument between us was me shooting a comeback at you about this thread. Is that not ok? Can't you handle the slightest bit of resistance? Someone shoots something back at you and you resort to personal attacks? That is sad and your remarks are rather uneducated, childish and pathetic. I didn't know I had to be specific about everything. Raising yourself "above the bar" isn't a bad thing. You should try it sometime.

So you became a Browns fan because of peer pressure? Was it because everyone else was doing it and you felt the need to fit in? Or you couldn't make a decision on your own? Which one is it? Jules... your killin' me. And you questioned me. That's priceless.

When the Browns were good back in the 80's? When exactly did you go to college? Just curios.

I have a question for you... Why are you wasting your time, and ours posting on a Browns message board? My guess is because either you have absolutely nothing else to do and that you have no life or that you have been banned from the Patriots board and everyone elses in you division.

If it's a waste of your time... then why post in the thread then?
As I mentioned before... (apparently you didn't take the time to read and get informed about this argument and just shot off an obnoxious remark) my wife is from Bay Village and I have an interest in the Browns because of it. No I'm not banned from the Patriots boards. Steelers fans are the most obnoxious fans in the country. That is something that Cowboys ,49ers and Patriot fans all agree on. (at least the ones I've interacted with anyways) It's just nice to hear things and read things about my wifes home team. Is that enough information for you to get off the high horse?
I'm not here to be a troll towards the Browns, honestly. But when I'm attacked for no reason by another poster, you can't expect me to just lay down like a dog and take it.
So the reason people post here is because they all have no life and absolutely nothing to do? I post here for the same reason any other sports fan does. To interact with other sports fans.

Actually my interaction with Steelers fans has been a lot better than most teams, and I've briefly been on other teams message boards before. I know Steeler fans gave one of the classier tributes to Sean Taylor, and all the Redskins message board fans really appreciated it. I think it just all depends on the specific people a lot more than a certain team in general.

What am I saying? I hate Steeler fans. I hate Steeler everything.

Well, if a Jets fan (like yourself I'm assuming with your avatar) and a Patriots fan can be civil with one another... I guess anything is possible. There are a few rather annoying Steeler fans on our boards. I was just going with all the dynasty talks with other fans and the Steeler fans tend to be rather obnoxious. Yes, I know the team has nothing to do with that. I can accept the fact hands down that Montana was a better QB the Brady is. But in the same breath I feel Bellichick is a better coach the Jimmy Johnson was. It's a give and take thing with other teams except with Steeler fans. They tend to think that the Steelers are "holier then thou". First comes Bradshaw (or whom ever the topic is about) and God takes 2nd place. Some Steeler players openly admit to steroids but 99% of the fan base is in complete denial. The team doctor's office got raided last year for God's sake.

I've even had to explain why the Patriots didn't continue to wear the #21 (Sean Taylor) on the helmets and the Pats have been accused of being the only team to not continue to do so. Guess who... by the Steeler fans on our boards. That was rediculous. No one ever even said anything about Marquise Hill. He was the Pats DE who gave his life to save a female friend in Lake Poncitrane (sp) last spring. People were in a time of grieving for Darrent Williams as well. Nobody gave 2 flinging craps about Hill. No Pats fan ever cried about no other team acknowledging him. Redskins fans didn't even bother saying anything about it.(why the Pats didn't continue to wear the #21 on the helmet) But Steeler fans sure did. The Pats were in grieving themselves and were looked down upon by certian Steeler fans for not putting there own on the back burner.
I guess that if the Steelers don't win a title then the next best source of entertainment is cow tipping for 7 months... I can't expect much from that.

Jets are my #2 team behind the Browns. I only have the NYJ avatar because every Browns one available is being used by someone else and I would prefer to be different.

And they don't have a Wayne State logo. Hahaha.

Because of my wife... She suggested to me to have a Patriot logo with Browns colors. I don't know how I feel about that. It would fit my train of thought on these boards but it's something that would have to grow on me. As of right now... hell no.lol

You know whats funny is that months ago I said NEPats was only on here to degrade the browns/browns fans and tell us about how great the Cheatriots were....I love it

Besides I am Browns fan and a Reds fan...Sooo I guess I am a frontrunner too...wait a minute Cleveland has never won a superbowl...ever...and have only collapsed in every AFC championship game in my lifetime...yeah some frontrunner there

And lets talk about the Reds...sure has been a powerhouse...whens the last time they made the playoffs....and the last championship they won was when I was 5...yet again what a powerhouse front runner

As for Jules and peer pressure...are you really saying that NO ONE in your family or your friends were patriots fans....

Go Browns!!

Clueless? It's legitamit questions with the reason you gave me? Back peddling a little bit there Jules? YOU yourself said you became a Browns fan basically because of peer pressure.

How you would jump to that conclusion is beyond me. I don't really think you deserve my time, but I'll give you a brief comment. See, peer pressure is usually something that kids in middle school and high school succumb to. Most of us mature to the point by college where this isn't an issue. Honestly, the peer pressure thing was never an issue for me. Judging from your posts you probably had severe issues with peer pressure just to try to get one friend and not get shoved into lockers day after day, so I guess I probably understand why this would creep into your logic, or lack there of.

I didn't follow the NFL much growing up, I never liked the Bengals at all and didn't really watch a lot of it until I went to college. I met some Browns fans and they took me to some games and I absolutely fell in love with the team and the game and have been a fan ever since. I'm a season ticket holder even though I live 3 hours from Cleveland.

I have nothing to hide as far as being a fan of my teams, why you are trying to find something where there is nothing just shows how weak your smack is.

Total .....personal .....attack. Wow. I jumped to conclusions when YOU stated you became a Browns fan because your friends in college were. THEY ARE YOUR OWN WORDS Jules.

You started this between us Jules. I had no beef with you at all. All I'm attacking is your loyalty. You are attacking basically my life. My smack is weak because I am a visitor on this board and KEEPING IT WITHIN THE RULES OF THE FORUM. It's called respect.
Was the "frontrunner" label misused by me. Yes. I was a little annoyed at the time. At least I can admit when I'm wrong. That's what adults do. Unlike you and Christy. The word I meant was loyalty. I've been to 10 or so Bills games. In your eyes that must mean I am a Bills fan.
You started this battle between us and now I don't deserve your time? Don't walk away from something without finishing it Jules. All you have to do is admit you attacked me unprovoked and for no good reason and that will be the end of it between us. See Jules... I'm offereing you an "out". Take it.
As far as Christy goes... I'm quite sure that will go on.
