I've only been once, to one race. So I'm not overly knowledgable of how good race week is, BUT...Race week at Watkins Glen is among the best 4 days I've ever been a part of.

Watkins Glen weekend is so much fun. With the 2 1/2 mile road course and the camping inside the place and just the partying and good times involved its amazing.

Watching the race is fun, but at the same time somewhat tough, because theres no place you can see the whole track except on TV, but I picked a good year to start going, with the whole Montoya/Harvick fight.

Amazing weekend. I feel like itd be tough to top that, because I'm not sure where else there could be such a camping feel.

I have never seen a track, during a red flag stop that was called for a car being flipped over - go into "let's fix the track" mode.

The red flag was for Mears getting flipped over ON the track. Next thing you know, they are cutting grooves in the track??????? B.S.

Mears, jr, and Hornish all ought to be complaining, as well as anyone else that was involved in the wrecks.

Oh, I don't know......I seem to remember a chunk of concrete coming up and hitting a car at Martinsville in 2004, and they patched the track and didn't allow the team to work on the car during the red flag. Yes, it was the 24 car who was coming off of two straight wins at Martinsville.......

The red flag rules need to be tweaked...

Are you implying they didnt allow the teams to work on their car during the red flag because it was the #24 car that got damaged? Was the #24 in the lead? if he was they probably would have ran the rest of the race under caution so he could win.

Was it Kenny Schrader who was leading a race(was it Daytona??) and there was a red flag, so he decided to get out of his car under red and yank on his fender?? I think they made him go to the back of the lead lap pack.

They're finally racing???? Did hell freeze over? Hamlin's and Earnhardt's cars probably rusted out by now and can't be fixed.

Nationwide is the new Busch series. Yeah, there's points involved, but it's last years "busch series" race - only this year it's the nationwide series.

The Nationwide Series is like the "minor league" for the Sprint Cup NASCAR guys. Or, at least it's supposed to be. There are a good number of "Cup" guys that race in the Nationwide series. These guys are often called Busch-wackers (since the name of the series used to be the Busch Series).

Why do they race it? Like I saw Tony Stewert in it, just for the money?

Money's part of it. And since normally the Nationwide race is the day before the Cup race, it helps the fdrivers learn more about the track. It doesn't help them learn a TON, since the cars are built differently, but it does give them an idea. And some guys, like Tony Stewart, will jump in and race anything, anytime, anywhere.
