Isnt that what college kids are supposed to do

Allot do it, but that doesn't mean their supposed to, last time I checked I thought college was for learning but I guess times have changed.

Doing those things in moderation is normal, but it shouldn't be constant since it will lead you down the path to nowheresville.

Then again I paid for my own schooling so I took it a bit more serious I guess, but I have no complaints, if kids wanna waste there time they are going too, thats why we see allot of kids in todays society still living at home when there in their mid to late 20's. At some point and time you need to be held accountable for your actions, and not have an excuse for everything, which seems to be to be normal now.

Thats me...in my 20's (22) and in college, and I mean i know im up late on weekends from gettin tippy on weekend nights.

I just hate that I get so tired and then lay down and then i dont feel tired. Its suck. I know half the problem is that I sleep all day on weekends.

Just...why do i wake back up, when i lay down for bed. thats the idiotic part.

But go through stretches, i used to sleep perfect back in the day, but a few summers back i worked graveyard shift at the post office and now i go through stretches where i just cant get to sleep before like 4-5 am. then i sleep til 2-3 in the afternoon, and its not good sleep, so im sleeping longer.

Id rather fall asleep at 11 and wake up at 7-8...because i know when i get that sleep i feel way better.

However, i was up til 4 doing the homework i didnt do all weekend. Which is part of the annoyance, was that i was so tired doing the hw, and when i lay down, boom im up

Ahhhh to be young again and to not have to worry about sleeping.

And I know all about that study Jules mentioned. Everytime I'm tired my mom mentions that I'm probably not getting enough sleep and that all the studies show blah blah. In case anyone thinks I don't get enough sleep, I do, I get between 8.5-10 hours every night. Its probably usually closer to 9.

I have no trouble falling asleep. Whether it's 9:30 or 1:30 a.m. - bam, I'm asleep. What ticks me off is, even on vacation when I have nothing to do in the morning - I'm up at 6:30 to 6:45. I would love to take naps on sunday afternoons, but when the Browns are on - that ain't happening - there's 16 weeks out of the year. And when nascar is on, it ain't happening - that's 36 races, but football and nascar overlap some. But, with a 7 yr. old daughter - it never happens regardless of if I want it to. "dad, can we play softball, basketball, volleyball? Can you read to me? Can you pull me sledding? Will you paint my fingernails, and I'll paint your toenails (she knows I won't let her do my fingers) Can we go fishing, can we ride 4 wheelers - it never ends. No naps for me.

I used to stay up, several times a week even, till 3 am, maybe 4 am - get up and go to work. Now? I'm in bed by 9:30 as often as I am by 11:00. Never had any trouble sleeping though - getting enough sleep, yup - but falling asleep is easy, for me.

Does anyone else ever get incredibly annoyed, when youre getting ready for bed and youre exhausted, and you think oh man i cant wait to hit the pillow and fall immediately asleep im so tired,

only to lay down and wake right back up.

Maybe you should lay off the amphetamines.

My days can be very long and I don't get to bed till 2am or later. Then I am so tired and start thinking about school or finances or something and then can't fall asleep. That and my back problems will make my legs get shooting pains so my Dr gave me Ambian and that works alright but I don't like using it. Tylenol PM can do the reverse effect and keeps me awake or makes my hands and legs tingle. Exedrin PM works very good but all of them make me feel like crap when I wake up the next day. Most times though I am so drained mentally and physically I usually can fall asleep no matter where I am.
Plus self "relief" is a good stress reliever/sleep aid,,or so I'm told Not that I know or anything,,I just heard Dr drew talk about it once on Lovelines

You could take the advice Fletch gave me...turn your clock forward and go to sleep early. Of course, not all of us are robots who can sleep at will.

I HATE when people tell me to go to sleep earlier. I am the same, I just can't fall asleep just because I go lay in bed. If I go to bed earlier, I end up tossing and turning for hours.

If you wanna try something that is over the counter, not habit forming and won't make you groggy the next day, try Melatonin. My mom takes it and she says it helps her. Not strong, but helps her to sleep a little better.

Last night I slept great, fell asleep shortly after 11, woke up at 5:45, 10 minutes before the alarm.

Went to bed at 9:45pm, fell asleep around 11:30pm, had an employee call me at 4:13am telling me she couldn't make it in to open today, so I had to wake up, shower, and be downtown by 5:15am.
