I have been dead on about the Tribe for four of the six of the last seven seasons. When I have time I'll get into the WHY'S, WHO'S, and HOW'S. Just like everybody else who jumps the gun and starts bashing the Tribe, you will be eating crow at the end of the season.

It is a mistake to bring a football mentality to baseball, and therefore ridiculous to bury the Indians after 11 games.
On the other hand, constructive criticism is not uncalled for after a disappointing start. I agree with others that say the Michaels/Dellucci platoon is not working out - you need production out of a corner outfield position. Not necessarily power, but "runs production". With that in mind, I wish the Indians would consider bringing back Lofton to play LF and to lead off. I know he's not the player he used to be, but he brings a certain edgy attitude - call it a swagger - that's missing. Lofton leading off will get you more walks too, which is missing from Sizemore's game. It would also allow Sizemore to hit third (where he belongs, IMO), Victor cleanup, Hafner 5th (taking some pressure off him), followed by Peralta and Garko. This offense needs an ignitor and Lofton might be able to provide it.

7-1 Tribe going into the 9th. Great 8 innings by Lee...

Joe Thomas made Justin Timberlake change his name. He didn't want wusses to have the same initials...

I have been telling people for years that Lee has the stuff to be a excellent pitcher. I hope he is past the injuy problems of last year and has his head on straight. Lee has the ability to be a VERY good #3 for us.

You know, Shapiro made a great deal when he got Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee, and Brandon Phillips ( ) for Bartolo Colon a few years back ... maybe one of the best trades ever by the Indians. Its a shame it didn't work out for Phillips here.

That deal was really the beginning of the rebuild. Shapiro has done a supeb job of rebuilding this team into a contender. They are still not quite there but things do look good.

I like Lee too. I also think the Indians starting pitching is pretty damn good and will--despite what soup says--keep us in the thick of things all year long.

Lee with another very good outing. What were the odds on Cliff Lee being the best hurler for us thus far?

2-0 with 12 K's, 0.48 WHIP and a 0.61 ERA

I don't expect him to do that the whole year but both he and Jake have pitched very well. If we can get Carmona and C.C. going we should be in good shape.

I'm liking Lee so far this year.

C.C. will get back on track but I don't think he'll be Cy Cy like last year...the contract business is in his head and I just don't think he has the mental makeup to stay calm.

P.S. Why do "contract years" in baseball negatively affect performance, whereas in football it's the other way around? Of course, I'm basing this on Hafner last year and C.C. so far this year. A-Rod was the other way around.

I'm very concerned about Byrd...I know the year is young but he's getting absolute shelled right now.
