Yards are necessary to win games, so are stats. BE was our best wide-out this year.

And coming off an ACL tear, he played better than most receivers do their first year back.

All of this talk about, I'm not buying the "injury excuse" is so moronic. BE came back from an injury that would sideline your butt for more than a year. You sure as hell wouldn't be out in the yard catching passes over the middle with your buddy's. So give it a rest with the Braylon bashing.

Sure, he's been a distraction this year. But any player that worked his butt off to come back from an injury---then finds himself on a losing team, is going to be frustrated. He's young and brash, like K2 coming out and calling himself a soldier and wrecking motorcycles---he wasn't living up to his potential, and he was a distraction---but after some time he settled down and became a player worth keeping.

Why can't that happen to Braylon. He's young, he's going to say and do some stupid things, but that doesn't mean you should write him off as a flop. He could come back next year a better, more committed player.

And I definitely think he will be our #1 WR next year, JJ will be #2, and Wilson #3. Cribbs #4.

LMAO... I've had the same injury as the bum, and was back on the field in roughly the same amount of time... Try again...

I bet you were.

Maybe the Browns should sign you then.

Was I pro level, No... but was doing things I shouldn't have because I worked hard during rehab... Like I said the points your trying to make don't matter... A bum is a bum, is a bum...

Go bar tend at the age of 14 or whatever you were, then tell me who needs to lie...

Comparing yourself to Braylon Edwards. I guess I did need something to laugh at.

Bottom line, BE will be here next year as the #1 receiver.

Not comparing myself... I understand the injury and it's sad that people want to use it as an excuse... He doesn't...

Oh come on guys,,,, I don't think anyone is having a love fest over BE... he's disappointing to say the least... yes, as I said earlier, he had 61 receptions for about 884 yards, and no, that's not bad,,, but if your the 3rd pick in the entire draft, more is expected.,, and perhaps for the money,,, more should be received.

Given the talent and general overall performance of the offense, perhaps it's all that could be expected. Who knows,,,

One thing for sure, he's gonna be here next season,,, of that I'm sure... So deal with it.

Your problems with him are the same as everybody else's, including his supporters. No need to rehash them. We all know what they are.

Dude, you specifically asked me a question. I answered and you tell me there is no need to rehash things. WTF?

I feel the reasons I gave are valid and will prevent him from being a top 5 wide receiver. Don't ask me the questions if you don't want the answers.

Your reasons are valid and I totally agree with them... I don't care if his name is Braylon Edwards or Tryone Shoelaces... fact is he's been a huge disappointment, and when he's gone it won't bother me one bit... He is not the answer he's part of the problem...

Edwards has 2007 to either walk the walk, or get the hell out.
You know this...and i know this..he isn't going anywhere till his contract runs out....no way in HELL the browns would give up on a 1st round pick in 2-3 years...unless the person is unable to play football...

Every year for NFL players is "make it or lose it" which is why it's called not for long....but if the money factor keeps some players around longer than others....BE is one of them....i don't know whats the fuss about....he doesn't completely suck ass....he just isn't great...big whoop....you make it sound like he is our only problem on O... did u forget we had a rookie QB?

I don't want to make excuses..he dropped some balls he should have caught...but in the end to say he needs to get off the team after 07 if he doesn't catch more is BS....

I was looking for something a little more philosophical.

What he doesn't do well NOW doesn't seem to be an answer to the question of whether or not he will turn the corner LATER. Otherwise, there would be no corner to turn.

Maybe I just lost something in translation or context, but I guess you feel he won't improve on those things and that will prevent him from being a top tier player.

I didn't really get that from your post. I got that you think there is a 30% chance of him turning the corner because you don't think he has the mentality to do it. Take out your bullet points, and I still get that same message. Hence the 'no need to rehash' comment.

But his dropsies killed us this year...

While annoying and unacceptable for a 3rd overall pick, they didn't kill us.

I can't think of one of his drops that made a difference in the outcome of a game.

New Orleans.. 4th quarter from Cleveland 35... perfect thrown pass ... tipped.... intercepted... end of game....

Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

Braylon caught some TD's to help us win games too. Its not as if he consistently lost games for us. Sure he dropped some passes in some critical situations, but that can be expected. All receivers drop balls.
Even Jerry Rice dropped a few.

One guy doesn't lose a game for you, and one guy doesn't win a game for you.

OK, I respect everyone's opinion, even that one.

Cribbs has speed. And do we know TW doesn't?

I guarantee you Ted Washington is nowhere near as fast as Braylon

Your right. But Ted has better hands, runs better routes, knows the playbook, and blocks better. He also has a better attitude.

It's not just production (although he's got to catch 70-plus balls a year to justify his high draft selection). I'll take the occasional drop (but with him, it seemed more thsan occasional) if he also delivers big plays. It's his attitude that bugs me, and lack of accountability.
Now believe me, when I was his age I was just as childish, but I was held accountable and knew damn well when I screwed up. He apparently doesn't.

It would please me to no end if he grew up over the off-season and became a professional. I hope he does.

If our coaches can't deal with an out-spoken WR, then it's time to either get new coaches or dig up the Woody Hayes 3-yards & cloud of dust offense.

Braylon is #1....
Wilson waited.. Got a few snaps.. Caught a couple of passes.. Will show more in training camp and battle it out with Big J...

Cribbs will be the 4th WR..

We will probably add a few UDFA's.. and i got a feeling Rideau will be back..

LOL......just wait. In a couple of weeks, these guys will be telling us how we have a real shot at the playoffs next year. They're already starting.
