We suck!
Being a Reds fan.......I can say the same thing!
At least we all share one good thing in common around here...we are all BROWNS fans!
Well with the exception of a few!

I lived in Boston prior to the Sox winning their first of two Titles... and I said it then and stand by it now... their fans are the most avid and crazy fans I have EVER seen... and I'm a diehard Buckeye and Browns fan and have seen our fan base... but at least the fans in the NE area are just plain nuts about their Sox... which probably increased 10 fold when they won their first title... I mean people celebrated in that town for weeks after they won their title... I've never seen so many adults break down in tears after a game... it was just unreal.
I'm sure there are a lot of band-wagon fans... but there are a lot of serious Red Sox fans all over the nation...
Thats one thing I'll give em, their fans rock! They seriously love the SoX up there.
Our honor defend, we will fight to the end, for OHIO! GO BUCKS!

[and the argument about her being one person is she says "oh, well i've been a fan since carl y. came along" and like i said, she's just one person, that doesn't speak for the entire group...
Oh, is that really what I said or what you believe I said? You seem to be bordering on delusional. Here's the actual quote that I wrote on Friday. Reading words that are actually there is a very helpful way to comprehend.
Quote:
And to whomever said I'm only one, that's true. But I know as many or more truly devoted Sox fans than I know truly devoted Indians' fans and I've lived in both places. Regardless, as I said at the beginning, it's typical and to be expected. I really don't mind as long as my Sox are playing well and I'm able to enjoy it when I can.
So I'll reiterate my question to anyone since no one's answered yet. SO WHAT? Sox fans want to travel now or show up for road games because they're excited. (wow, who could've ever called that one?) I do not deny that some are bandwagoners but based on the folks I've met in my experiences, many are not. There really aren't many things that are like they were 5, 10, 15 years ago... I'm not claiming anything other than the fact that a good many of these people most likely aren't just along for the ride. I wouldn't want to try to ask you to see the possibility of that through all of your apparent anger. God bless haters.
Keep arguing that point though...it's good to keep the discussion based on conjecture when it's your point that has been called into question. (that's sarcasm)
wrong.
my thing was, i said the sox had a bunch of bandwagon fans that show up in opposing stadiums, and you said that you had been a fan since carl y, and i said, well you're one person, that doesn't speak for the whole bunch, and then dc tried to bring an argument where because i used phrases with i, that i was somehow selling you short...
wrong.
when there are giant groups of opposing red sox fans in all these stadiums, i don't doubt that some of these people have traveled to the city, or maybe they're relocated from boston, but i can actually vouch for a ton of people who have claimed them to be their "second favorite team", which is by far the lamest thing i have ever heard in my life, and those are the people who are showing up at these opposing stadiums the most...
i am not saying that each and every person is a bandwagon fan, but it's pretty obvious that there are some trendy, casual fans who weren't around prior to 2004, and it's pretty obvious
that's all i'm saying.

i really hate these bandwagon red sox fans...
seriously, where were you people 5 years ago?
Cheering for the Yankees.
Maybe a few of them but not all. As a student of sports, log, you know full well the Red Sox have always had a huge fanbase. So why get petty?
I've been a Sox fan since Carl Yastrzemski stole my 12 year-old heart. That's well over 30 years, crybabies.
ok, so let's calm down with the name-calling, i thought that wasn't allowed here?
second of all, you are one person, and it's very nice that you have been a red sox fan since yastremski came on, but can you speak for all of those who now show up at stadiums as "fans" when really, red sox fans weren't known for travel 5, 10, 20 years ago?
it's a fact, the red sox didn't have the traveling fan base that they do now, actually, only the yankees can say that, and the cubs to a certain extent...
and here is your quote, just in case you forgot, or what i "believe" you said...
i said you were one person, because you tried to make the argument, that because you've been watching the sox for 30 years, that you somehow spoke for every sox fan that has shown up in an opposing stadium the last 4 years...
and that somehow got turned around to me selling you short
again, wrong.

Wow, is that what you took from that comment that was made to no one in particular? That's some creative mind-reading and assuming. You see how that sentence is the beginning of a new paragraph? That means it's a new thought. I really do try avoid conversations with folks who assume they know what I mean rather than clarify. So, thanks for letting me see where you stand. Discussion over as far as I'm concerned.
...always have been, always will be...
