I can't stand him. Cavs are up 20+ and he's talking like they're getting stomped, freaking out when Washington makes a fancy pass or a dunk or something. He's always hating on the Cavs, just like Chuck.
i think he's just trying to keep viewers on the tv... i think he's a pretty solid color guy, and he gives you a lot of inside insight, considering he's only been out of the league a few years...
actually, chuck isn't always riding the cavs (although he did say they wouldn't make the playoffs) he was a fan of the trade, and despite what people thought, he actually called the cavs win in game 6 of the ecf last season, saying that the cavs "were going to run detroit right out of this building"
he just says whatever is on his mind, he doesn't care if he's wrong, that's what makes him great... i love him, he's the heart soul of that great tnt studio crew...
i don't think we go to washington looking for a split... we are looking to send these guys home on their own court...
Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. We have played 2 solid games in a row, both of them with a playoff crowd behind us. In all fairness to Washington, things kind of snowballed quickly tonite and we got pretty much every break (which i will take). Realistically, it will be VERY hard to close this out in DC. Not saying we can't, but I don't see it happening.
The keys are the usual things. Play with urgency for 48 minutes (defensively), play with composure on the road, and play smart.

About tonights game, I didn't get to see any of it I did have it on the radio though and did hear "three ball,,,,,,GOT IT!" and "WHAM with the right hand!" a bunch of times!
I do have a couple of questions (I'm not watching the highlights till later or after class in the morning.) 1st, I heard a lot of booing but was too busy to pay attention. What stuff happened in the game? I did hear on the way home from work someone on Wash was ejected for a blatant foul on LBJ. What was that all about? And how did Wally play tonight? It seemed to me I heard his name called a lot tonight. I hope he is paying dividends finally.

Haywood got tossed with a flagrant 2 for shoving Lebron with two hands out of midair on a drive into the cameraman in the front row. And Big Ben was immediately up in his face. Loved seeing that.
There was also some booing when Stevenson hit a 3, his first shot that he actually made after like 8 misses, and he started taunting the Cavs. Funny thing was, they were already getting blown out, he hasn't done squat, and he starts taunting. The announcers were even ripping him.
Damon Jones hit one with a minute left to push the lead to 30, and he mocked Stevenson going back up the court. Gotta love it.

Stevenson is a friggin joke. He just sucked ass on Saturday and then runs his mouth again, gets blown out tonight, and still tried to act like a moron talking smack. If your team is losing by double digits you have no right to say ANYTHING. Esp some weak smack of all things. I did hear the crowd going nuts when Damon nailed that 3 towards the end. All Tait said was "the crowd is going crazy. They want Damon to shoot another."
Like I said before, I hope who ever we play next talks smack as well. It seemed to bring the team together or something. While Wash runs their mouth and loses focus and their heads when frustrated

The problem is now every ref is gonna have that in the back of his mind in the next round. Plus as everyone can see all the calls go the cavs way, that won't happen against Orlando, Detriot or Boston.
I like our play, we just have to be careful here and not let it get out of hand in Washington where people could get suspended or hurt, then that has serious consequences down the playoff road.

Charles Barkley just mentioned that on TNT's Post game show. He didn't have a problem with hard fouls. And he said that both teams are getting real close to the line. On Heywood's foul, they showed a postgame interview with Antonio Daniels where he said that there wasn't anybody in their lockerroom that was out there trying to hurt anyone. Charles basically called that a lie. He said Heywood's foul was flatout a dirty play.
Most complete game I've seen the Cavs play all year... (granted I don't get to see many)... Now they need to back it up and go take at least 1 in Washington and come back and close this thing out in 5... don't play around with it.
The foul on Haywood was the right call.. no attempt at all to go after the ball just a shot to chest with arms extended. Playoffs or not, if you let that go, things are going to get out of control.
I agree, have to take at least 1 in Washington, although I would love for them to take both, Game 5 I will be en route to Vegas, I might be able to catch the 2nd half if I head straight to the bar from the airport.
I went to the game last night. Its the first Cavs Playoff game I have ever been to. I must say the place was a rockin! I don't ever want to go to a regular season game again. Just give me this. Hard fouls, intensity you can cut with a knife, the fans going bonkers. Haywood the goon got the Browns Stadium A-hole taunt by fans BIG TIME.
I can't wait for one of these at home for the Browns.

The Wiz brought this on themselves. When you go out and say in the media that your going to intentionally rough up the other team, the ref's will take notice. Your right, we won't get these calls against Boson or Detroit, because those teams will actually play basketball while being physical, not just be thugs.

Washington Wizards center Brendan Haywood will not be suspended by the NBA for his foul on LeBron James during Washington's Game 2 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, The Washington Post reported on its Web site.
Haywood was charged with a flagrant-2 foul and ejected in the third quarter after he knocked James to the ground while James was mid-air on a drive to the basket.
An NBA spokesman said Hawyood would not be suspended, although the league agreed with the call and the decision to toss Haywood from the game, according to the report. Haywood and James also had a run-in during Game
The series, which the Cavaliers lead 2-0, has been chippy from the outset, with the Wizards hoping to slow down James with physical defense.
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday night, and Washington will need to reverse recent history to climb back into the series. The Cavs have won eight straight playoff games over the Wizards.
I can't say I'm all that upset or all that surprised. I think they sent the message that "rough" is ok, but keep it in the context of the game... and that's what they needed to do.
I don't want them having anything to whine about when this is over.

and no, we will get those calls against boston, detroit, and orlando, they won't play that way, but if lebron gets shoved in mid air like that, he's getting that call every time... so no.

these guys are playing well, they are knocking down shots, moving the ball well. playing stellar defense, now i want to see it done on the road, if we can win on the road, the sky is the limit
i said before the playoffs this team would beat washington, but probably lose to boston, but playing like this? they have a legitimate chance... that would be one hell of a series...
and wow, ben wallace, looks like the ben wallace of old, i don't care about the stats... the one thing he did last night that doesn't show up on the stat sheet is that help defense, washington didn't even try and attempt to go to the rim but maybe 4 or 5 times in the second half...

i played very little organized basketball, meaning, like 1 year... haha (due to hockey season being the same season as bball) but basketball is no different than any other sport, you have to overcome pressure, both physical and mental, and also emotional...
the cavs have been badmouthed on and off the court, ever since lebron was drafted...
the experts always pick against them, everyone is always talking about what city they'd rather see lebron in, everyone ignores their great defense, and just labels them a "one man show", the pistons try to intimidate them, and it just doesn't even work... even when they were swept by the spurs, the cavs never looked intimidated... sure they looked at times like they had never been there, but the better team won that series, and that's really all you can say about it...
i've heard some people referring to the tactics that washington has used this past week as being compared to the "jordan rules", not even close.
the wizards talked their game, assumed we were a bad basketball team because of our barely-above .500 record, and right around somewhere between lebron throwing an elbow back at andre blatche to the cavs tying the game on saturday right before halftime (on a techincal free throw from the haywood/james thing) they realized that they aren't nearly the team we are...
in the standings, and during the regular season? sure, maybe they're even better, but come playoff time, they aren't even close, they aren't in our neighborhood, and it's quite laughable...
this is a classless bunch, and the sad part is they have some really good players on their team, and a good coach who just doesn't quite get it

i agree, and i think the move of wally to start not only locks in our starting 5, but it seems like we know our bench now... and guys are going to know when they come in and when they come out...
we're deep, and i love it... we can run 4 deep on our bench, and that doesn't even include damon jones or sasha pavlovic, the latter who was a key player in last year's run...
the other thing is, when we're up late in games, our depth will be key to closing out games, we can have ben wallace out there when we want, which could keep them from fouling him and putting him on the line... we can run joe smith out there, and while he may not be the force that ben is, he is still a very solid defender, and a smart player, a guy that always makes the right play... i love having that guy, he's everything drew gooden should shoot to be...
I think it's important for the Cavs to start strong... The Wizards will feel that home arena rush from the crowd and all and wanting a measure of revenge for being embarrased in Cleveland and having Heywood ejected.. if the Cavs can knock the air out of the arena early and get real strong first quarter, I don't think the Wizards will recover.
I'm really curious to see how the Cavs look when they play a team (Wizards or next round team) that actually has a game plan.

There's nothing wrong with having confidence in the team you root for!
