LOL, still trying to use semantics and take a word out of context to make your point. Here, Phil, is the defintion of "craft" 1. an art, trade, or occupation requiring special skill, esp. manual skill: the craft of a mason. 2. skill; dexterity: The silversmith worked with great craft. 3. skill or ability used for bad purposes; cunning; deceit; guile. 4. the members of a trade or profession collectively; a guild. 5. a ship or other vessel. 6. a number of ships or other vessels taken as a whole: The craft were warned of possible heavy squalls. 7. aircraft collectively. 8. a single aircraft. –verb (used with object) 9. to make or manufacture (an object, objects, product, etc.) with skill and careful attention to detail. You use one definition in the quote you provide and twist it to another. LOL, good spin, Phil. I see you hve that crystal ball shined up real nice, Phil, and claim to "KNOW" something that you can't possibly and state it as fact. Some things never change.

All I'll say is back in 2000 my dad said "If Bush is elected we're gonna go into Iraq even if there's no reason to, or he'll grasp at straws trying to find a reason to go."
Well, IMO, he grasped at straws. Now our country is paying for it.
It requires too much money to run for president or any elected official, and the people elected are elected for their public speaking skills and how much media exposure they receive. The common man cannot run for a major office and be successful.
Meanwhile, cronie capitalism is all over the place, not just with Republicans but with Democrats as well. Pork barrel spending is all over the place, lobbyists influence bills without the best interest of the common man in mind.
The entire system is dysfunctional and needs a SERIOUS overhaul. A legit 3rd party would be AMAZING right now.

You accuse me of being semantical, yet you merely picked at the word "craft" and ignored everything else.
It's not like we looked at overwhelming evidence saying that Hussein was armed and dangerous and we bounded in only to find out we were wrong. That's a completely inaccurate portrayal; evidence was ignored and left out and misquoted and narrowed...there was an actual committee that was instituted in September of 2002 whose purpose was to refute and minimalize CIA intelligence that didn't support an invasion of Iraq...how do you explain that as not being manipulative and crafting a case around tailored evidence?

So I won't be voting republican.

George H, and George W are going to be sitting at a high priced hotel room in Saudi Arabia after Jan, Bin Laden will arrive with his entourage , they will shake hands , drink a shot and laugh at the STUPID americans. Then proceed to count their millions they made off this war, after Bin Laden thanks W for getting his family out of america after 911.
Anyone that doesn't think this was about the Bushes getting richer is nuts.

Two more well thought out posts. Obama will probably have Bin Laden over for a cook out along with Castro and that screwball in South America.

Sez you and other liberals Phil. Quit listening to the lefty media and learn to think for yourself.
Why do people say "think for yourself" when its just a differant opinion. You have no clue whatsoever on how and why he thinks that way.
Like when conservatives say that FOX news tells the news as is, and the other news outlets are liberal biased

Not only are they biased, the are campaigning for Obama. They have ripped Hillary at every turn, and played footsie with the Obama campaign. Hell, Hillary went on the O'Rielly Factor to get some positive press.

That is pretty much how I saw it at the time too. What got me was all the jokes about how ungrateful France was being. Not that I have any respect for France, but I expect Iraq to be even less grateful towards America than our "buddies" the French.

YOU accused the White House of "crafting" the intelligence. I'm waiting for you to prove it and you didn't. I focused on the word YOU used and the quote you put up. With your superior intelligence, surely you understand that when you believe something is true, you present the proof of it. That is what happened here, unles you have actual PROOF of something else. You don't, you just throw out statements and then fillibuster when asked to provide proof. In fact, Phil, the White House did something quite like you do. You ignore or dismiss anything that doesn't fit your beliefs on a situation. Yet you cry foul and accuse the White House of manufacturing false intel without any proof of it. When you do it, it's analytical thinking. When those you detest do it, it's some vast conspiracy by an evil President. Make up your mind, Phil. Is Bush the bumbling fool you have always claimed he was or is he an incredible mastermind that was able to fabricate information and go to war and keep the conspiacy completely quiet with no leaks and no one exposing it? You can't have it both ways, though you certainly enjoy trying to.

The world will be a better place when Bush is gone.
Sometimes I can't believe the IDIOCY of our country to elect him to a second term.
He was despised before 9/11...9/11 saved him...and he still won by the skin of his teeth in '04, only to get buried again.
What does that say?
Bush is one of the worst Presidents of all-time. We have serious repairing to do. I almost feel like apologizing to the rest of the world because we had so many IDIOTS who re-elected that moron...the world hated him and we thumbed our nose at the rest of the world.
The world likes Obama...will we tell the rest of the world to screw off again? I sure as hell hope not.

I would much rather people vote for their candidate based on his policies and views rather than what the rest of the world wants. We need to worry about ourselves and correcting our problems before we worry what everyone else thinks we should be doing. If people feel that Obama is the person to help do that, then by all means that is who they should vote for, but to vote for him simply because the world likes him is going down the wrong path.

I don't see how Vietnam was lost over here? I think Nixon basically expressed that communism wasn't all that bad through his trips to China. That pretty well put the nail in the coffin for Vietnam. I'll contend the war was lost in China as he led a PR campaign for opening up China while selling the non-communist in Taiwan down the river.
Or perhaps you're the blame-America-first type that holds us responsible for lacking desire for extensive nation building? Whose responsibility is it if democracy doesn't take root in Iraq and it becomes the case of whoever controls their military controls the country? We gave Cuba its chance and they never got the hang of democracy, I don't see that as our fault.

Vietnam and Iraq have one thing in common that makes them virtually impossible to win, an undefined enemy. You can't expect to win a war when you don't know who you are fighting. And saying that people who don't support the war are causing it to be lost is crazy. If it is lost, it will be lost because we went in without a plan and weren't prepared for what needed to be done.

The difference in my mind = The Vietnamese did not want us to die because we aren't all (radical) Muslims. How soon we forget.

Do you spin for msnbc or nbc?
I love it when the Bush-haters roll out the "Mission Accomplished" banner. THAT mission WAS accomplished. The brave men and women on THAT ship accomplished their mission. Simple.
It is ridiculous for anyone to claim that Bush had that banner put up as a way of saying the fight was over. He CLEARLY stated time and again and right from the start, that this was going to be a loooong fight. He told the truth and was correct.
Lastly, everyone I know is against the war. Not one American I know wants to see American soldiers die...for any reason. No one likes the idea of spending the money we must spend to fund it.
However, 9 of 10 of those people who I know understand why we are there and believe that we need to be there. They also believe that one cannot be against the war while simultaneously supporting our troops. It's like being a little pregnant.
I think the part that gets me the most is when the anti-Bush/anti-war people act as if they are special because they are so willing to shout that they are against the war. Great...good for them.
NEWS FLASH!!! So is everyone else. Get off the high horse and tell us HOW we can get out. Call the Generals over there and tell them where they are screwing up. Where they can do better. Good luck with that.
You know what else we are all against? The 9/11 attack, the USS Cole bombing, the first World Trade Center bombing, the bombing of our barracks...you know...stuff like that.
How quickly we forget.

Which countries hate Bush so much? Iran? Russia? China? Syria? Which ones? Because if your list includes those countries...I could not possibly care less if they hate Bush or not.
We have allies who hate Bush? Which ones? I don't see it.
The world likes Obama? Where did you come up with this stuff?

Our FIRST "responsibility" is to our country. It's very nice that you want a warm and fuzzy feeling saying we need to be all of that for the rest of the world, but the number one priority is our nation. What a cute thought, the world like Obama. Well, hells bells, the french loved Jerry Lewis....maybe he should have been our president?

That's absolute horse manure. You can be against the war and support the troops. I have friends over there who I say a prayer for every day, I hope they do their jobs well and stay safe.
But I really think they should be in AFGHANISTAN hunting down bin Laden.
As for 9/11, USS Cole, etc...what did those have to do with Iraq? NOTHING. We took our eye off the ball, looked for the smallest reason possible to go into Iraq (even if it involved being in denial about intelligence that stated there were no WMD's) and bin Laden is STILL free.
All we did was make the middle east worse when we had the opportunity to take al Qaeda to the woodshed.

This is absolute crap. I disagree with the war, disagree with why we are in Iraq, and think that we went into Iraq without a plan. I completely support the troops. The troops are doing the job they are assigned to do. They don't have a choice in the matter. They don't choose why or where they go to war, they just do what they are told to do. It isn't the troops' fault that our government leadership doesn't know how to handle a situation they shouldn't have been in to start with.

DD...I'm not only sure I want change...I'm positive I want change.
McCain has already promised 4 more years in Iraq with no mention concerning how he is gonna pay for it and no mention of the cost in soldiers lives for 4 more years of war in Iraq.
I've already seen the results of 7+ years of GOP dominance of America's political system...and with confidence I can say...
IT IS...TIME FOR A CHANGE FROM GOP TO DEMOCRATIC POLITICS.

Exactly.
For the record, I think Hillary is equally as poisonous to our country as Bush is, but from the opposite spectrum.
Any President who's a polarizing figure is bad for our country when we need to be the UNITED States.

France, who has been our biggest pain in the ass ally, voted in a prime minister who was very pro Bush. We have great relations with almost every one of our typical allies. Sur people in other countries hate us. Big deal. Catering to other populations is the last thing I want in a President. We should apologize for voting in Bush? Please.
BTW, I believe JFK had an approval rating that was absolutely terrible at the time he was assinated. Does that mean he was a bad President to you guys?

The challeng with Bush from the world prespective is that he has pushed an unthinable agenda.
POW's have no rights under the Geneva convention? Give me a break. These are not the actions of a country that recognizes "unailenable rights"
If you want to act like the leader of the free world, you can't change the rules to fit the current situation.

You know Pit, I was talking about some of the promises the Dems make and then everyone with half a brain should know they are a bunch of liars. Remember Slickster telling us he would lower taxes then giving us the biggest tax hike in history. Now Obama is saying the same thing and you, Ammo and his Daddy are fighting to be 1st in line.
And Dems , please don't act like you give a crap about our military. Believe me most of them know what you really think. They might miss their next paycheck because of the crooked Dems in congress.
