Well... just gradumatated and am getting a place on my own with a reliable roommate and well, of course the topic of keeping the fridge stocked at all times came up, and it will be so Heineken Draught Keg is a must have we've decided, but other than that, it's really shaky as to what else should be in the fridge! I mean, especially light beer. I just don't know which largely-distributed light beer is most worth buying. Other than that, I love connecting to my roots with Guinness Draught, and enjoy a smooth Corona with lime and all.

What major beers are worth having in the fridge? I mean what is in your fridge and that you recommend (that is easy to get your hands on throughout the country for anybody)?

Bud Light and Natty Light (for the guests in the instance you wanna let loose and throw back more than just a few).

Cherry Wheat if you wanna be upscale about it.

P.S. Glad you have a reliable roommate.

I'm a Miller Lite person as well. I was a Bud Light person for a long time but I switched..

As for the fridge. Keep your staple beer on hand, whichever you drink recreationally. Keep a few good beers on hand for the occassional good meal. And keep a handful of other things on hand like Bacardi Breezers or something... a lot of ladies, in the event you ever get ladies to come over, tend to like stuff like that..

Oh, and put some food in the fridge too..

8.5% alcohol.

'nuff said.

...I also have a bunch of Modela cans in the crisper. Isn't that what the crisper drawer is for?

Personally I always keep Rolling Rock for myself, Corona for the boy. Our friends and family know if they don't like it, BYO... and because of that there is usually left over Bud Light and Miller Light that I cook with... that's all it's good for in my house.

Idk what area you're in but there is this stuff out of PA called Yuenling (sp?). To me it's like a softer Guiness. Not bad. I'm also getting back into Killians Irish Red. Or try Ichiban... it looks very Japanese when in fact it's bottled in the states... good for a theme night though.

What I want you to do is check back in with us in a few months to see if you've slipped into the Beast/Naddy curse of the college students.

Congrats on the new place and always remember your priorities.

Exactly, in fact I can't drink anything that doesn't come in a brown bottle except Carona. For some reason I don't have a problem with that.

St. Pauly Girl....

dark, in the winter months, and lager for the warm weather.

Both pair up nicely with Knob Creek for "shots and chasers."

In Ohio you can not go wrong with great lakes brewery. I've tested better, but not at many places.

Rolling Rock, Killians, Great Lakes Holy Moses White Ale, Genesse Cream Ale, Miller High Life, Keystone Light.

No I'm not an alcoholic. The Genesse, Miller, and Keystone is all left from a semester ending party in may. People brought it and just left it lol. The Genesse isnt bad though. Personally, I don't drink much maybe one or 2 a week.

My advice is to try to find a couple sampler 6 packs. Figure out what you like and go from there. Great Lakes and Sam Adams both have some very good beer, expensive, but great to sit outside and relax with one or two.

You are so not my friend anymore. Are you sure it was the Rock's fault? Maybe YOU just went a little overboard that night and need a scapegoat.

at least where I'm at I've never seen "sampler" versions--or do you just mean regular 6-packs of whatever. I love Jaeger.

Well my family usually keeps a fridge stocked with pop and water all the time but I could see some beer getting worked into the equation there. Without a doubt the brands that must be in there for me are Miller Lite, Redstripe, and Labatt Blue.

Haha... you believe in Miller Lite enough to drive it up north 6 hours? Sweet

I would just like to thank all for contributing to this discussion... There's something just great about thinking of the dream of cold beer soon to be realized

Still not too sure what Light Beer I'll be going with, but I have a feeling Miller will be the main staple. Don't worry about me falling into the Natty/Beast curse, there's standards for beer for God sake!

What about Liquor? What do you guys like to do in that department while we're at it?

Jager isn't a beer, it's a liquor.

There's the Sam Adams sampler, but its a 12 pack. I can't find sampler six packs either.

P.S. Asian, have you been to that relatively new beer spot by NAPA and the tire mart? 1500 different beers, 2000 different wines. I'm pretty sure they're the only place in town with Joose too.

I was the one who brought up the Naddy/Beast curse... I've seen it too many times. I fell into an Icehouse relapse a month ago... I'm back on track now!

As far as liquor goes... Tequilla, Rum and Vodka is all I need. Once in a while I'll go for a flavored vodka or rum and try mixing it with new stuff. It's not hard to find a good combo and even harder to mess up! Just chug it down and start over!!!
