So I guess the question boils down to this. Would Jones welcome a "part time roll" behind a marquee OL where he can showcase his talent when the oppertunity is given? Or would he rather risk further injuries and futility behind a limited OL somewhere else?
The correct answer is for him to accept a Parttime role with a Marquee OLine... But in reality, he'll go where they give him the biggest buck.. They most often do.

I think in the case with Cleveland tho the question would be "IF" the opportunity is given. I mean how many times did Harrison touch the ball last year...when Lewis was healthy???
I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...

i like jason wright, he's a nice change of pace running back... pretty decent speed, a few moves...
but that's really all he is...

He's part of Cribb's wedge unit. You know when they say that the QB is only as good as his line? Well Cribbs knows the importance of his unit -
"That group of guys protects me at the point of attack," Cribbs said Wednesday. "I really haven't been touched. Those guys have been the solid breakpoint for us as a return team. If one of them misses a block, I'm caught inside the 20."
Wright is a great blocker. And while nothing special as a full-duty running back, he isn't really all that awful. But make no mistake about it - his intangibles that don't show up on a stat sheet are very critical.
I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in another back...but Harrison would go before Wright (and I like Harrison in the limited glimpses we've seen).
i was really just talking about him on offense...
there is no doubt that he's a great special teams player...
no need to bang your head into a wall, that may hurt a little.

Kevin Jones runs too much like Jamal, what is the point? Plus with his injury history and our luck, he wouldn't last through training camp.
If we want to get another back on this team, it needs to be a speedy change of pace back. Someone who can handle 10-15 carries and be a threat to break one at any time.
Sounds a lot like Harrison doesn't it?

That there there is a good point.

I'll solve all the problems....we trade our 5th rd. pick to SD for WR Parker, then we trade Harrison and Parker plus our 4th rd. pick to Philly for Lito Shepperd. Then we sign either Kevin Jones or Lamont Jordan for a season or two and there we have another solid vet CB and decent RB insurance in case of injury to Lewis.

I'll never understand people's fixation on Jason Wright.
Ok, he's a very high character guy. I get that and I appreciate him for it.
But he has no burst, no movies, and no straight line speed. He has no real redeeming qualities from a football perspective.
Jones, if healthy, is essentially Lee Suggs without the stenosis. The guy has speed and moves and a burst, but he doesn't wear you down like Lewis. I think he's the perfect compliment to Lewis and could easily take over as an effective every down back should Lewis go down.
We lose Lewis, we're screwed unless we give Harrison the bulk of the carries. I don't like Wright,
Good points, but Wright is a good blocker, as mentioned, and very smart. He had a pre-med degree or was in some sort of med field before going into the NFL...he got a 3.8 at Northwestern and was with ATL before us.
I remember when he scored two TDs in the '05 Tennessee game--the Titans 46 was used to doses of Droughns, Droughns and bam! Jason Wright scores TDs. A little guy, not as shifty as Pruitt or as fast but not a bruiser.
Harrison is a better WCO RB because we can go split backs with Jamal and JH and do wonderful things. Wright is a better I form back to spell Jamal and could be even used as the HB and Jamal as the FB in some situations.
I've met Jason Wright and he's kinda sweet.
Browns players at Kent State May '06
Cleveland Browns tight end Paul Irons and running back Jason Wright answered students' questions, signed autographs and talked about their own spiritual experiences for "A Night with the Cleveland Browns" co-sponsored by Impact and the Dive.
Aside from the draft, Wright and Irons don't dislike the Steelers as much as some may think.
"I haven't been here long enough," Wright said, "but I did get flipped off by two 11-year-old boys at Heinz Field."
Go Browns!

Wright is the best blocking RB I've ever seen, and is a good ST player.
I think Jones would replace Harrison as an insurance policy if Lewis goes down. Wright brings too much as a blocker IMO
even over the backs that blocked for Jim Brown, Leroy Kelly, et. al? What about Moose Johnston of the Cowboys blocking for Emmitt? There's been a lot of good FB-RB tandems--Johnston/Smith (Cowboys), Rathman/Craig(49ers) etc. But is Wright THAT good?
Go Browns!

Those were all lead blockers. I'm talking about blitz pickup primarily. Two different animals.
