That's a pretty neat looking set up,, kinda looks as if there is practice facilities outside the stadium as well....

"I'd say it didn't have a thing to do with where she was from"

And the fact she was from St. Louis just a coinkidink...

Bit of a stretch...but you are correct not an immediate move after the inheritance.

Just a little more than a handfull of years after the Bidwells moved out of St. Louis and left a void in the city for a Football team

Home Town Girl.... oooo, ooooo ahhhhh...she's a Home Town Girl!

Ideally, the Arizona Cards should move to LA.
Then the cities of LA and St. Louy should trade teams.

No, I think it was a bonus for both her and St. Louis... You have to ask, Had Cleveland said, hey,, Georgia,, we'll build a you new stadium, we'll build you a better training facility, we'll guarantee 10 years worth of sell outs, we'll provide a rabid football fan base ....

You have to wonder, might she have come here. Don't forget, this is the home town of the RAMS you know

The stretch is believing that she would uproot the franchise because she wanted to bring them to her hometown.... Now that's a stretch.

Don't forget, her husband died in 1979 and she didn't move the team until 1995.. It was certainly no knee jerk reaction. it had to be a calculated decision based on more than Just wanting to bring a team to her home town... had to be the Money....Just had to be the biggest reason.. But that's just my opinion....

Look close and it looks like there is a mega mall and possibly a hotel or two on the other side of the stadium complex.

It would be a destination.

They would sell seats.

Being a Browns fan I hate hearing any team threatening to move. Sounds like a nice scare tactic to get the fans to shell out some more coin and fill their stadium. I doubt (hope) it doesn't happen b/c they have a pretty decent team and they are a young organization.

My question is if the market is small and the area is already saturated with football, why did the NFL expand there in the first place?

I understand what your saying BF337, but the situations are COMPLETELY different between the Browns in 1995 and the Jags today.

First, the history isn't there for football. The Jags have what, 12 years of history, the Browns had 40. The Jags have had success at times, but the Browns were virtually unstoppable with plenty of championships to prove it.

And this is the biggest difference.. FAN SUPPORT.. The Browns could stink and they still filled the stadium. Since 1999 when they returned, the browns have mostly stunk.. with the exception of 2 years, this teamed sucked.

But yet, the joint was filled.

That's the difference as I see it anyway.
