Saying he's a Mi.guy playing in Ohio, takes excuse making/coddling to new hieghts.Praising him for catching balls out of bounds borders on outragious.
I don't need to know what disciplinary measures,if any, they are using, but making idiotic excuses such as the one above,is insulting.
Right now,Savage's first draft pick has to be an embarrassment to him.Coddling and false praise will only make the situation worse.

You can tell those that have coaching experience from those that don't in these responses. Eo and Diam have it 100% correct. You present a united front once you walk out of the office doors.

You don't even need to be a coach, Coach...
Anyone who's been part of a team or understands the mentality of a 'team' knows you don't air dirty laundry in public... and you don't blast a teammate in public.

I know he's been not the best team citizen in the world, but he just wants to win.

Okay.......I won't mention the drops. Some guys drop a lot of balls. However, don't you think that a player who "just wants to win" would learn the plays? Don't you think that a player who "just wants to win" work on his route running? Don't you think a player who "just wants to win" would know where to line up? Don't you think a player who "just wants to win" would not be late for meetings and practices?

On the original post. About Robiskie Being fired because of Braylon? I hope no one thinks that. I think Robiskie got fired because none of our receviers have lived up to the hype given to them since hes been with the team.

think back to the year KJ, QM, and DN made the cover of our media guide. They were lame that year. I dont think it was all them, I think part of it was coaching.

I keep asking this and never receive an answer. What did any of our wide receivers do after they left Robo and went to other teams? Truth is.........they did less!

Vers...

About Robiskie and the response. I agree, they did do less, and i dont have a good response answer to it, but, sadly, its true.

I guess the only way i can answer your question is with another question. Why did we have so much hope for them then?

and the first part. I dont have a good answer for that. I hope he doesnt become another TO/Randy Moss type guy. Thatd be lame.

But maybe, its a think like Dawson. He seems to get worse as the team falls farther from contention, and it seems like BE did just that.

Not a good thing...but, i dunno what im saying. I am disappointed though in it no doubt. But im willing to give him a 2nd chance i guess is what i meant to say from the start.

They were high round draft choices. They did show some signs while they were here. We had a pretty good passing game that one year, especially when Holcomb played. We scored over 30 pts. against the Cheifs in our opener and scored 30 + in a playoff game. That's pretty impressive.

I think part of the problem w/our wide receivers is that in all the years they were here, we only had a decent OL once, and that was during the playoff year. That line couldn't run block very well, but they were pretty good at pass protection. Don't get me wrong, they were still a bit below average, but at least our QBs and WRs had some time to do their thing.

I think it is a mistake to take skill guys, especially wide receivers, before you establish an offensive line. People say I hate Savage, but that is not true. I am disgusted that he drafted a WR w/the # 3 overall pick and then drafts another one in the 3rd round the following year. I'm thinking......... another wide receiver?

Do you realize how many wide receivers we have taken in the first three rounds since 1999? We also took K2 in the first. Now, how many offensive linemen have we taken in that same time period? What's our record? What was the success rate of those wide receivers?

You see what I'm getting at? Robo is very respected in the NFL, even if the uninformed fans on this board don't respect him. The NFL people know a bit more about football than the fans do. And Steve, you've been around. It's a common practice for board members to blame the coaches for all the teams ills.

I personally think that the powers that be have had a flawed plan on how to build a team, and as a result, both coaches and skill players will suffer. What kills me is that we have had 3 separate groups in here. And every freaking one of them have had the same strategy. At least Butch tried to build the DL, which is equally important.........but, he ignored the OL just like Policy/Clark did and Savage is doing now. All three groups thought it was wiser to build outside-in.........and "fix" the OL through free agency and the waiver wire.

Stupid is.........as stupid does.

It's hard playing for a losing team. What's that old saying?

Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it.

Something like that.

I'm w/you on giving him a second chance. We don't have better options. Hopefully, he changes and realizes his vast potential. If he doesn't change, he is going to continue being a cancer on this team......and that isn't good for anyone.
