seriously if all he gets is a 7th, i'd really start questioning savage's thought process..i don't see how anyone can look at our roster and say we're ok at CB..he'd be easily better than anything we have sans BM and maybe EW, not really sold on EW yet but he's still young

Talk about reactionary...We have no idea what Savage is or isn't doing. We have no idea how much it would take to sign Foxworth..basically, we have no idea about anything when it relates to what Savage is doing behind the scenes right now.

I'll wait a few days until Savage comes out and speaks on the issue of our defensive backfield before I make any judgements.

And your more qualified to make personnel moves than Phil.....Common...

I think at the end of the day I'll take Phil's opinon on a player before yours.

it may have been a little early for such statement, but in honesty tho, i would like to think phil is doing everything he can to better the team, but time is running out, as is quality depth. I hope something happens soon, because its going to be ugly this year if someone in the secondary goes down. i mean think about it this way...foxworth=7th daniels=7th..i know who i'd take..lol, and as far as an extended contract..we have to ask ourselves..is foxworth>holly..if so then it would be worth to work something out..hopefully savage will blow us away...he is a sneaky little

A 7th????????? That's all it took?

Damn, I would have offered them an 8th and see if they took it.

Report: Ravens agree to deal with Bouman
Veteran QB reportedly will sign one-year contract, ESPN.com source says
By a baltimoresun.com reporter
12:40 PM EDT, September 2, 2008
Todd Bouman, one of three veteran quarterbacks to work out for the Ravens yesterday, accepted a one-year offer to sign with the team, a source told ESPN.com.

Bouman, Chris Simms and Joey Harrington worked out for for the Ravens yesterday in Owings Mills. This morning, Bouman was offered a one-year deal worth $830,000, according to ESPN.com.

The 36-year-old Bouman has played for the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars and St. Louis Rams. Bouman was an undrafted quarterback when he signed with Vikings in 1997. He was released by the Jaguars on Saturday.

The Ravens yesterday named rookie Joe Flacco the starting quarterback for the regular-season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 7

Ravens | Team has yet to sign Bouman
Tue, 2 Sep 2008 15:51:37 -0700

Updating a previous report, Mike Preston, of The Baltimore Sun, reports the Baltimore Ravens have not signed QB Todd Bouman (Jaguars), contrary to published reports. The Ravens are still involved in negotiations with Bouman and QB Joey Harrington (Falcons). They could sign either by Tuesday, Sept. 2, evening.

Yet time after time Savage has stated we didn't really have any money to sign people inside the operating budget and we were going to go with what we have.

Do some of you think he is telling a fib??

He's already stated that they plan on moving forward with who they have, quoting RAC who said something along the lines of, "If we lose five corners, we may start making a few phone calls." I'm not saying I like it, or that it's written in stone, but it seems to me that it's already been addressed as far as it's going to be, barring injury. The hope he has something in the works is possible, but it also could be just a case of wishful thinking on the part of some fans who don't want to hear what he has already stated.

Evan Oglesby-DB- Cowboys Sep. 2 - 3:55 pm et

Cowboys released CB Evan Oglesby.
The move makes room on the roster for special teamer Keith Davis, who's expected to sign Wednesday.

I´d sign him and his playbook copy now

Maybe so, but much like the weeks leading up to the Draft there should be an awareness that not necessarily everything the FO publicly states what they're really thinking...

I certainly can't argue that. I would, however, say I'd be more surprised to see them sign someone at this point (barring injury) than I would be if they didn't.

In light of the news coming out about Lito Sheppard, I have to eat my words... Not unhappy about it if we get him, just a little surprised he was so vehement about not looking for someone. I mean, what's the big deal? We need help at that position... not exactly a State secret.

i understand wanting to win now, lets just do it without mortgaging the future completely.

Well, when you become a competitive and/or dominant team, IMO, you don't value the lower round picks as much. You keep your 1st and 2nd rounders to keep your talent level high, and the lower round guys are just "flyers" you take.

I'm still amazed we don't have another CB in here yet. and if its true Atlanta got Foxworth for a 7th rounder, think of this.

Cleveland 7th rounder = Travis Daniels
Atlanta 7th rounder = Dominique Foxworth

A strong arguement could be made that we've done better with UDFA's than we have with picks in rounds 5, 6, & 7 over the past decade.
