Your right about Winslow. Man he has looked disgusted the last 2 weeks! The man is a winner and seems to not tolerate sub par, uninspired performances from teammates. wouldn't be suprised to see him move on. (Although I think he shortened his own career by many a season by his own immaturity)
Edwards...so much talent with a seemingly empty head and no guts.

Where are all the RAC apologists A million excuses for RAC and DA....ya know "just wait, this week it will be different...we played good teams week one and two". Just curious where they are......RAC is done, this team did not show up mentally, emotionally and physcially AGAIN!!! This team had a chance to play for RAC, show he's the guy! But if fans are expecting this coaching staff to make changes........ ....might as well get ready now, it wont happen.... Same old crap....but remember..accordingto RAC, its just "another game"......that we LOST!

BUT if you really need it:
It will be better next week, I promise.

I'm right here .... what u want ...
he shouldn't have been fired after 2 games and he shouldn't be fired now .. u can scream and act as ignorant as U like .. that won't change the fact that he should not be fired now ...
and the 50 game .. err .. now 51 game analogy is for the birds ...
the main reason this team is struggling is directly related to the injuries .. we've been DECIMATED when it comes to them this year ..
RAC has his faults .. the main two for me are:
1. The penalties .. NOT ACCEPTABLE .. and that is a direct correlation to coaching .. that one falls squarely on his shoulders ..
2. his time management skills at the end of games ..
other than that .. the rest of what u haters spew is BASELESS CRAP .... no matter how irrational and frustrated U get every Sunday ..
anything else???

These aren't all haters calling for his head. There are quite a few of us who've supported RAC until last week. How much longer are you willing to put up with his gametime cluelessness? The team is lost out there and they don't perform for him.....and it's not just the injuries. His apathy and confusion are contagious. He needs to go, and the sooner the better.

In case you've not been paying attention, we're 0-3 and what you're spewing is baseless crap. No matter how irrational you are or how rose colored your glasses get this guy is pointless and he needs to be gone as no good can come from him staying here.

I have to post something that just made me laugh out loud.
I got this from another board. A poster started a thread titled "Would it matter if ..." and everyone filled in the blanks with their own thought.
When I read this one, it just got me rolling on the floor ... the poster said "Would it matter if ... RAC telecommunted.
I'm still laughing.
Another poster followed it up with saying that they had an image of RAC calling Savage and asking him if it would be ok if he could "work from home".
I'm crying I'm laughing so hard.
All in good fun ... I just thought that was funny as hell.

I like RAC and i think he is a good coach but i don't think he's a head coach. It's obvious to me that the guy doesn't no how to prepare his team for a game or how to game plan for opponents. He is just not a game day coach.

I don't think Romeo and Savage are tied at the hip.
Nor do I.
Historically speaking, a GM usually gets a mulligan when it comes to a head coach, meaning that if a coach turns out to be a dud, he gets one more chance to find a winner before he himself is canned. When it's realized that Savage didn't "hand pick" RAC, there's even more reason to believe that Savage would survive the firing of Crennel.
As for Opie's track record, he's no bum, but he's no Wunderkind, either. Luckily for us all, he isn't part of this problem, not yet anyway. We have enough offensive talent to be winning, or at least staying in these games. We have to keep in mind exactly what it was that Savage was handed.
I won't sit here and say I saw the game, because I didn't. Today was a work day for me. However, based on what I've read of reports regarding the game, RAC is right on the verge of losing this team totally.
As much as I dislike RAC as a head coach, firing him now solves nothing. There'd be only one single legit reason to can him right now, which is to get an extended look at what Chud can do. Don't be fooled into thinking that we aren't viewing Chud as a likely potential head coach for this team. We are. Yet making that move now simply dooms the season to a guaranteed failure (though at 0-3, the odds are now officially extremely long that we can even sniff the wildcard).
I will say that if this team loses to the Bengals next week, we stand a real chance of going 0-10, as we play teams like the Giants, the Jags, the Broncos, the Rats again, etc etc. If RAC gets us to an 0-6+ start, he could very easily be fired, and based upon the mental outlook and performance of the players, perhaps should be.
I thought RAC should have been fired after the 2006 season. We've waited too long. He shouldn't be fired yet, as that isn't in the best interest of the team at this moment, but he's on a very short leash, shorter than many would believe.
One last thing. The injury problem was a legit reason the first couple of games. That's no longer a reason, it's an excuse. Anderson had two games to get into a groove. He couldn't. Edwards has had two games to get into a groove. He hasn't. The line has veteran players who can step in and produce. They haven't. The defense has some ability, but aren't doing squat. The injury thing doesn't hold water anymore, not in week three.
Even if we turn this thing around and get to 7-9 or 8-8, RAC needs to go. He's near (if not at) the bottom of the league in gameday prep and performance. It's clear he doesn't have this teams attention.

I don't disagree, and hope to not be misunderstood in my earlier comments.
I agree...Savage walked in to the RAC deal a bit late..it was sort of a done deal with Romeo...Phil's ok was as much ceremonial as it was anything else.
My only thinking is if Lerner wants a strong coach(not that you can't the other way) and decides a guy like cowher is who he wants, it might take away from savages role.
What we don't know is this, and people can say I am crazy, but we don't know if Lerner hasn't been questioning Savage about Romeo for a while now...I know I would have.
If Savage has been a staunch supporter, then the two can be tied a bit closer than you think.
I agree...the odds Savage doesn't survive this are pretty small, and I hope he does. Lerner has been a pretty laid back owner, but that doesn't mean he always will. If Lerner decides we need a coach and that coach demands roster control, something Romeo really doesn't have, then it might create a problem. One where Lerner has no real choice but to dismiss Savage or one where Savage feels his only choice is to resign if a lesser role isn't what he desires.

I think this is the direction that we need to go. He's a guy that you don't want to have to face coming to the sidelines after not doing your job properly. Romeo might as well be sitting in the booth upstairs.

I really don't want Cowher, but I think we need a guy like him. In deference to his actions when you do something "bad," he was always as equally ecstatic when you did even just one little thing a little bit correctly,...that's what I always admired about him and leaders therelike. Mr. Crennel does neither. I fail to understand why we're told that the players like playing for him, because they DO NOT perform like they do.

Rac should go if we are 0-4 going into the bye..... Savage has a power trip, if he can just stick to being a GM and let the coach be the coach then i think we should go after Jim Fassel or possibly due to the rumor i heard on WMMS after the game last night Cowher.. supposedly Bill has been looking in strongsville for a house, but that was a rumor and you guys know how rumors are.... Rac is just not suited to be a leader... everyone says he just looks lost.. I also believe our Def. Cord. should be fired after the season if we do not improve as a unit, our blitzes are either too late, or picked up too early. The teams fundamentals and discipline is just not there............ No Vocal Leader!! guys are afraid to speak out and call some guys out...

1-12 against your #1 & #2 rivals. This in itself is a fireable offense.
The mindless penalties....seven total games into THIS season, and they still haven't cleaned this mess up from LAST season!

Thankfully he did or we'd have seen the Vickers pass and the PA FB dump pass 16 times. Had Phil not forced RAC to fire him, Mo Carthon would still be here.
Phil has to get involved like a parent watching a kid color, so the kid doesnt eat the crayons and choke.

Well that's Phil's job, I took the comment as Phil is trying to interfere with the HC on the side lines. I've never seen any thing from Phil to suggest he has a power trip and over stepped his duties as GM.

DA is a Savage mistake as well. You can't simply point out the positive and say "see there", without looking at the negative things he's done as well.
Yes and no..I will go further than DA..After Dill[pickle was gone..it was then Phil should have tried to get a veteran QB..then after THAT, that vet should have competed with Frye for the job..there wasn't a whole lot on the market (I'm sure someone could see who was available)so Phil looked at someone he scouted ..thats why he went after DA..BUT NO ONE KNEW that DA would have the season he had..so being fair (but having doubts) they wanted DA to prove this year he's the man.. However this is the ninth game DA has had that he's gone backward..he hasn't improved..he's still inconsistant..his big problem down is his reads and decisions.. His decision not to take the draft picks for DA was the team trading was going to try to jump up by using DA as further bait... Yet I wouldn't have let that worry me so much if there was a stud player I needed at the spot where I could get him. DA being on the Rats wouldn't scare me..

I weighed in once before, but here I go again....a week later.
My vote is RAC needs to go. I was in his corner until the first two games this year. Im further into the other side after yesterday.
Here's why:
Game management...There is none.
Team Discipline...There is none, 3rd most penalized last year, and even worse this year. We're average 9.33 penalties a game this year. HORRIBLE. Inexcusable.
Awful effort. We come out flat, we get stepped on, and then we look even flatter. someone kill me.
Halftime Adjustments: If our halftime adjustments are to play into our opponents hands, then we do a very very good job adjusting. But if not, then this is the most pathetic coaching job in history.
Clock Management: I cant even go into it.
Gameday Preparation...hahahahahaha, laughable
Schemes...are terrible. Really? our QB has been bad, our WRs cant get open or catch the ball and we only run 12 times? oops.
Division record. Its preposterous. He's won what, 4 games in his time here? in nearly 4 years? inexcusable.
Thats not even everything I can think of. Those are all reasons to be fired, and thats a large number of them. Even if half of them were there, I dont think we could call him a good coach.
The biggest problem, is that most if not all of these problems shouldnt be problems in a coaches 4th year. Horrible.

For the record, my mentioning Cowher isn't a pimp job for the guy....he is just a name on the front burner for any team on the brink of a coaching change.
I wouldn't be opposed by any means, but at this point any coaches name can be inserted in to the discussion.

This is a question that I'm sure is going to spark a firestorm.
What about Billick? I know he never could get an offense going but until he flat out lost his team last year they always played hard for him. Plus, when I've listened to him in the booth, he's been pretty impressive. Very intelligent.
Thoughts?

My disappointment at yesterday's game was exceeded by my disappointment this morning when I opened the paper and no mention was made of Crennel being fired.
Cowher is my first choice. Billick ... I don't know.

Just clickin,
I agree with what someone said in one of these threads that what we need is head coach who has been a head coach before so here is some names of past head coaches:
Marty Bill Cowher Jimmy Johnson----long shot Jim Fassel (Giants) Jim Mora Jr. (Atlanta) Denny Green (Minnesota and Arizona) Mike Sherman (Green Bay) Mike Martz (Rams) Dom Capers (Carolina) Mike Mularkey (Buffalo) Greg Williams (Buffalo) Dave Wannstedt (Bears and Miami) Steve Mariucci (49ers and Lions) Marty Mornhinweg (Lionst) Jim Haslett (Saints) Chan Gailey (Dallas) Vince Tobin (Arizona) Dick LeBeau (Cincy) Ray Rhodes (Pilly and GB) Bruce Coslet (Jets and Cincy)
* I know some of these guys are currently assistant coaches, others i have no idea*
