I'd absolutely LOVE to boo him to his face.

I don't like Ohio State, I don't like Michigan - I LOVE the Cleveland Browns - so I'm about as impartial as he's gonna get.

He's consistently ahem, stunk, all season. He's taken the art of dropping balls to a new level all season. Now he's said this about me and mine (the team/city/fans)? To hell with him.

I'll be sitting in section 535, Row 31, seat 22 Sunday like I have the majority of home games since 1999 - listen for me on TV because I'll be bringing the rain of boo's everytime his name is mentioned or refrerrenced or his mug is flashed on the scoreboard.

I gotta go take my vitamin C - wouldn't want to hurt my vocal chords.

eo......I can't speak for anybody else, but I didn't like the Edwards selection, because I thought (and still do) that taking a WR top 5 is not a good way to draft. Unless they are truly dominate they simply aren't worth the selection, because comparable talent can be had in later rounds. I don't give a rat's butt that he went to scUM, but I still think it was a wasted pick, because he hasn't made enough of a impact on the field to warrant being a top 3 selection. JMHO.

Edwards is a "me" player....what is it with receivers being that way???

If it was my team, I would get rid of him one way or another ASAP.

That's a good question, 'Peen. For whatever reason, it's like we expect WRs to have these huge egos, just like we expect our Center to be a real "team" guy.

Maybe it's just a microcosm of their jobs. A WR is generally out by himself. He is going to make a play, or he isn't. There isn't anyone out there to cover for him. So, his personality is developed in a "me" kind of way.

A lineman can screw up and there's the possibility that someone will cover for him, whether it's another lineman or a RB or a TE. Or, the QB could scramble. So, the OL can rely on other people.

Just a general thought, right or wrong.

Doesn't excuse it, though. I'd rather have 11 "team" guys on offense and 11 "team" guys on defense than have someone who's a "me" guy first.

If it were just getting on a guy because of his play that would be one thing, but it has begun to go way beyond that.

To me it's not about BE, although I know that is the topic of the conversation.

It's about booing DA, it's about chanting for BC, it's about a laundry list of bad behavior that comes from the fan base.

I know this if I were a player or coach I would not want to play or coach in Cleveland, and I’m a fan. That’s how bad it has gotten.

Toad I don’t know how old you are, and perhaps it doesn’t really matter.

But everyone needs to be reminded about the Kardiac Kids.

Back in those days the Browns were just an OK team, not great by any stretch.

But on a consistent bases the Fans literally willed that team to win. They never gave up they always supported the team, and believe me on more then one occasion the 12th man made the difference.

Ask any player ask any fan who remembers attending games back then, you could feel the energy coming from the stands pushing and willing the team forward to victory.

Better yet ask a player from that era what it meant to them? Think it doesn’t make a difference it does, and perhaps cheering yes cheering for a guy when he is struggling might might help the player, and ultimately the team.

I know I do better when I receive encouragement, perhaps sense the players are people too they would do better as well. I know factually that it helped the Kids, perhaps we would all be better served to remember what helped the team in the past from a fan perspective, because there is now way, no way in hell that what’s going on now is helpful in any way.

And it’s not that they didn’t get on a player if he goofed up they did, but it didn’t continue beyond the moment.

The fans now come to the stadium sit on their hands, hurl insults at the teams players and coaches, cheer our own players injuries along with a laundry list of other acts of stupidity. And it does need to stop.

Sad as it may sound I think the 12th man is dead in Cleveland. The fans can proclaim themselves the best, but I have seen enough to know that isn’t even close to being true.

Back in the day those where fans the ones now are just a mob of mostly idiots, incapable of one single thought of their own. No Toad nobody can justify to me the displays I have seen.

Wanting to win doesn’t have anything to do with acting like an idiot, but that seems to be the mode of operation many a fan has adopted. It’s SICK.

Many a fan has stuck a fork in the coach the franchise the players, but me I’m sticking a fork in the fans. Their as bad if not worse then the team on the field.

After this most recent stunt he just better pray we don't throw him off the 480 bridge!

Anyway...Youtube "Vince Russo shoots on Hulk Hogan." That kind of anger is EXACTLY how I feel towards Braylon right now.

I hope we make him MISERABLE on Sunday.

Can´t believe it has not been posted yet....byebye Braylon...what an idiot

“I’m not Paul Warfield, Webster Slaughter or Jim Brown,” Edwards said, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I’ve given my all to this city for four years, and I realize it will never be enough. I went to the Pro Bowl last year and resurrected this team from the darkness, and nobody cared.”

Nobody cared? Didn´t he hear the SB-chants in ST? Wtf did this guy expect? It´s a team sport shthead...Get tf out

And I wanted to take him??? That was the Merriman year...lol

But you know a funny thing happened. He was taken and became a Brown. Once that happened then I open my arms to him like a new found Son. Wanting him has nothing to do with it...We got him and now what. He is a difference maker and important for the Red Zone - now that we got him make the best of it.

Brown to the Bone...I don't think when all is said and done all will want out of Cleveland.

Look this is the end of the RAC regime. Depression sets in players who believed in the team are in Purgatory right now - they know its over. If a player is asked to open his heart out in this atmosphere it can only be dark...very few will be saying stuff like - Well we believe in this team and look forward to the Off Season to build off of it and make it better. Cause there is no heart felt sentiments when a regime is ending.

That is one of the responsibilities of the NEW REGIME...Breath new heart and soul into the players in believing on what Goals they are setting for themselves.

All I have to do is remember the UTTER Depression when the Butch Era elapsed - I don't think there was a lower time in Browns football and honestly this Pales in comparison. If BE buys into the new regime...Great if not the new coach surely will get rid of him. It is as simple as that.

But to hold every thing said in a depression environment is rediculous. All the players are a little depressed right now. They failed, they failed RAC who they truly like. BE only stupidity is the fact that he's talking from his heart in this environment...he should just be quiet cause anyone talking probably wouldn't have good stuff to say about their experience. BQ, the New Coaching Staff I'm sure will all get the rah, rah back for the 09 season from the players.

#17 may be all about #17 (amazing how on nationally televised games he plays 10x harder, isn't it?), but I can't shake what I saw from him last year.

Once things were going well, he was blocking better, finishing routes better, he was even running down DBs that picked of DA to make sure they got tackled. He still dropped a few balls, but made it up by catching the ridiculous ones.

So, it seems to me that #17 is the type of player that HAS to have a winning environment to feed their ego or his insecurities take over him. This seems to be common among WRs in the NFL (TO is obviously the exact same way and now even winning isn't enough to quell him....DeSean Jackson is a new WR that exhibits some of the same signs, we could go on all day here). If the new regime this offseason is able to convince him that they are building a winner, he will probably work hard and play it out....but the first signs of adversity could just as easily knock him back into his current funk.

It's obviously not a trait you want one of your best players to have...but given our current WR situation, I don't think we have much of a choice right now but to build around him and bring in his replacements to the point we do not need him.

Our media is tough on the entire team, coaching staff and all. But they should be. They're holding people accountable for what's going on.

Do I want to get rid of Braylon? No, who next season do we have that can replace those throws? I know nobody is thinking Stallworth could be our number 1 with Steptoe or Sanders as number 2.

Do we want to take a WR in the draft ALA Crabtree? May be if we can get the straight up trade for a pick to get him. I doubt it after this season though. I think Braylon is gonna be with the team, and we should let him know. Go find a trade, get a pick of 1st round value, we will make the deal. A FA reciever won't be cheap, so we won't get value for those second tier guys........

We don't have Antonio Bryant, who, while a jerk with a big ego as well i imagine, was a second rate number 1.

In my book, we need Braylon right now. And if he thinks he is going to get a top deal contract after this season, forget it. He should play hard next season to get him at the value where we can either move him, or we can sign him to an extended deal

Fact is, getting your hands on this kind of talent is difficult. I want to see how Braylon is feeling after we get a new coaching staff.

I really think he's going to only improve and will never have another year as bad as this year. I also think that the fans will be better to him when he plays better. He talks such a big talk, and inspires such hope, and this year, he didn't back anything up. We win games, the fans will love him.

Sorry Eo but my comments were about fan behavior not player behavior.

As I said, I understand the topic is BE, but the fans actually are part of the problem. They expect the player to act like an adult, but act worse then 3 year olds themselfs.

To me it's called class, you either got it or you don't, but calling out a player while in public with his family no less is classless. The Jerry Springer trailor trash act don't play with me, lets just put it that way. I have seen enough bad behavior on the parts of the fans to say without reserve that a great deal of the fan base does not deserve to have a winner ever. You reep what you sow... And in this instance in spades.

I know that the vast majority of fans are respectful, and decent people, but some of the fan base are nothing more then trailor trash, and they are dragging down the good fans, and the team they claim to love at the same time. I don't like it.

But the fact is your response to me, well it's got me puzzled. I write about the trash the fans have tossed out and you write back about the state of the team/BE. I can pretty much gauge that on my own. Your season is in the toilet and the fans are acting like idiots towards you and your family and your dog to boot. I know how they feel, and like the fan they are now becoming emotional too.

But to those that attend the games and see the players in public and rib them BE is just giving back what he got. And as distasteful as I find his remarks I understand them, and where they come from. This will blow over for BE. But bet your ass he won't forget and niether will the team. That damage is done, and it can't be fixed, EVER.

I agree BTTB.

No matter how many balls he's dropped, it's inexcusable for fans to disrespect his family in public. And for the idiots who dislike him because he's from Michigan, they are idiots who are completely clueless.

i completely agree. there's too much entitlement, as if the new players owe the fans for what happened from 1999 to when they joined. everywhere i go, message board-wise, i read all this crap about how "oh we're the fans, we help pay their salaries by supporting the team, i pay $xxxx a year so i should get a good product" and it's actually upsetting. no one forces a fan to pay, they are not entitled to a 'y' product for putting in 'x' dollars. the only person who might be in that situation should be the owner. this town holds so much bad blood for all the losses and we're so stuck in the past (yes good things happened back in the day but you don't hear about steeler fans talking about the past in the same way our fans do) with this whole "woe is me" attitude that it shows in our treatment of our players, the same players who bust their butts and risk their necks for our entertainment. we, as a fanbase, show no gratitude because, simply, nothing is good enough for us. we focus on the negatives instead of the positives and turn the next butt cheek the moment things go sour. instead of looking for signs of improvement, we constantly beat down on a player for the mistakes. some support.

you're right, if i were a player or coach, it'd be very tough to want to come here. fortunately, that thing called "money" will eventually entice people if we're willing to shell out enough, but that just restarts the whole cycle as one of the poorest cities in the US sees someone getting $x million to catch a ball or to coach a squad, thinks "man, if i were offered a fraction of that, i KNOW i'll work way harder than that guy at it" and that envy/bitterness grows.

The real bitterness comes when the guy holds out, talks a big game and then turns in a performace that looks like he didn't know which way his shoulder pads went on.
This team is easy to hate because they are so inept. If we were at least losing in an entertaining fashion I don't think things would be quite so frustrating. I love football but this team is finger nails down a chalk board to watch and it makes me mad. Fair or not, it's no mystery to me that the players feel the heat.
When Savage got here he referenced the woe is me/ negativity in this town. I wonder if he's beginning to understand it better.

take an insecure person, put him in front of millions of people, and then put a mike in front of him and what do you expect him to say? we're bitter because someone says stupid things? i agree with everyone that edwards did not play to expectations but how do we know he's not working hard? everything i've read says that the guy is working very hard. he's spending extra time with qbs, with the jugs machine, etc. if we believe the coaching staff is so inept, why is there no blame on his coaches either? make no mistake, i'm no player apologist but it's clear this town has been unfair to edwards as well. some he brought on himself, other stuff, unwarranted..

you hold it against edwards that he held out yet everyone chooses to forget that quinn held out? for a longer duration and for no reason at all? if you're edwards, is that fair? quinn gets a pass because he's the golden boy? if i'm edwards, i'm trying to figure out why. "hmm, people hate me and are heckling me because i'm from michigan...must be why." sounds like what edwards said is true to me...

I think your reading a little too much into it. I don't believe illegal is holding that and only that against edwards. That just makes it a little worse. Quinn held out, yes. No reason at all? Well, no - he wanted more money, but that's beside the point. Quinn has been a team player from day one. Supporting the starting qb, as well as the team and coaches. He's not a 4 year player that stunk it up this year.

Quote:

If edwards is comparing himself to Quinn, well, let's just edwards shouldn't do that. After all, edwards is the one that stated "I led this team out of the darkness last year". If that's true, then breylon, you turned the lights off this year.

I happen to believe edwards didn't lead us out of any darkness last year, and I happen to believe he didn't turn the lights off and take us back to the darkness this year. However, if wants to believe he led us last year, than he ought to man up and say he didn't play for squat this year. I know he wants it both ways (I led us last year, but this year is someone else's fault), but it doesn't work that way.

Ridiculous. How you got to that conclusion is beyond me. You seem to be forgetting his performance on the field, during games. Believe it or not, any fan of any team will tell you what happens on the field is what matters.

I don't care if be worked hard in practice. I don't care if he spent extra time with a machine. It matters not in the least!!! What matters is what he put on the field on game day. He's been bad this year. Bad. Drops, wrong routes, half assing on routes.

THAT, my friend, is why breylon has fallen out of the love. Nothing to do with Quinn. Nothing to do with where he went to college. Nothing to do with his charity work......no reason at all other than his performances on game day.

If he can't see that, that's HIS problem, not the fans and not the city's.

It's typical of the be I know to want to find an excuse for his behaviour. This is just another example. He's like leon - it's not me.

I agree with those that are saying be's family should not be included in heckling at any time or any place. I concur that when be is out on the town he should not be disparaged. However, he needs to grow up and realize that a small fraction of the fan base is doing that, and if he can't deal with it, he needs to seek help as he would be classified as unstable in many places.

ummm...never mind.

Seriously...on the fans. So many just don't know. Don't believe. Are Frustrated. Never experienced winning and Browns football tradition. All they know is 99 on as young adults.

I don't agree with them. I pity them some what. I can't wait for them to experience a regime of winning so that they can be HOOK LINE and Sinker...Unconditional Die Hard fans. So many aren't - they want to be. But they need to experience it first.

JMHO - I don't like it but I understand the plight.

i agree. i was just trying to step into edwards' shoes. it's clear that he's not the type of guy who will go look in the mirror before pointing any other fingers. in his mind, he can only do wrong but he associates the hate with the hecklers who are calling on his michigan background.

I agree. But the question is, does one's mental state or "personality defects" impact his play? Are the two connected?

So far he has not done that. And how can he ever do that with his current attitude? I agree with your post in theory, but I believe that the two are connected.

Yes, this deserves its own thread. No, it does not belong in the Braylon wants out of Cleveland thread because the information in this article is contrary to the information in the other.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5...mp;confirm=true

From NFL.com

BEREA, Ohio -- Braylon Edwards isn't sure he can catch a break, either.

The style-conscious wide receiver, whose drops have defined Cleveland's calamitous season, hopes to repair his rocky relationship with frustrated Browns fans and said he has no intention of asking for a trade, despite his unhappiness or the team's expected upcoming offseason overhaul.

"I don't want to be traded," Edwards said Thursday. "I want to be here in Cleveland. I want to make plays. I want to have fun, and I just want to enjoy it.

"I don't know, maybe I care too much."

Edwards' passion has never been questioned. But some Browns fans have grown tired of his inconsistent play and showboating ways.

Edwards leads the NFL with 16 drops, and this season, the former first-round draft pick has become a target for fan abuse -- he says because he went to Michigan and most Clevelanders root for Ohio State.

Edwards also believes that fans begrudge him because of the team's infamous championship failures. Denver's John Elway broke Cleveland's heart with a 98-yard drive in the 1986 AFC title game, and one year later, Browns running back Earnest Byner fumbled at the goal line in another loss to the Broncos.

The way Edwards sees it, the present-day Browns are haunted by their past.

"I can't apologize for what happened before I got here," he said. "I wasn't a part of 'The Drive.' I didn't fumble at the 1. That wasn't me. I think fans are still disgruntled about that, and they have every right to be because they're fans, but that's not me. I'm Braylon Edwards, and I just want to be Braylon Edwards."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edwards has had some positive moments, but his three best games have all come in Cleveland's appearances on Monday Night Football.

Coincidence?

"Uhhh, yeah," he said after a pause. "I don't know."

Following Monday's loss in Philadelphia, Edwards said he felt unappreciated by Cleveland fans and that "since Day 1, I've been a marked man coming from Michigan. Even when things are good, there's heckles."

Edwards' postgame comments came across to some as him setting the stage to demand a trade this winter. He swears that's not the case at all.

"Why would I?" he snapped. "I wouldn't ask to be traded."

Edwards revealed Thursday that he and his parents have been harassed in public at restaurants. But he doesn't feel unsafe in Cleveland and hasn't been threatened with physical violence.

As for the anti-Michigan sentiments, Edwards believes it unfairly separates him from his teammates and makes it tougher on him. He's not the first former Wolverine to play in Cleveland as Thom Darden, Steve Everitt and Leroy Hoard -- all Michigan men -- had successful careers with the Browns.

"I'm not making anything up," said Edwards, who's signed through next season. "I'm not reading into anything. I'm telling the truth. The day I got drafted, the first thing you guys said was about my Bentley, and the next comment you made was, 'How do think you're going to fit in with the Browns being that it's O-State country and you're from Michigan?'

"Every time I come up to people, it's O-H-I-O. I'm like, 'I play for the Browns.'"

To his credit, Edwards, who missed three weeks in the preseason after cutting his foot while running after practice in his socks, hasn't used his college choice as an excuse for his statistical slippage. He enters Sunday's game against the Bengals with 50 receptions for 837 yards and three touchdowns this season. Last season, he had 80 catches for 1,289 yards and 16 TDs.

"I never used me being from Michigan as a copout," he said. "All season, I've owned up to my play. I said I'm not playing well, I'm dropping passes I need to be catching. I never blamed it on the quarterback. I never blamed the offensive coordinator. I never blamed it on anything but me not concentrating and focusing."

No Cleveland team has won a major championship since 1964, a drought that has inevitably led to fans being more cynical and critical of pro athletes, especially one as flashy as Edwards.

Edwards knows football fans here expect more, and he's trying to please them.

"There's been a lot of bad things that have happened here," he said. "We can't ever get over that hump in any sport. I understand their frustration, I really do."

With the Browns facing an uncertain offseason -- both coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Phil Savage could be fired -- Edwards was asked if he finds the future unsettling.

"I've gotten used to it," he said. "I've played for, what, three or four offensive coordinators? I've played for six, seven quarterbacks. I've experienced a lot of change and adversity since I've been here. All I can do in the offseason is make sure Braylon Edwards is 100 percent fit, come here in shape and be ready to catch passes and help this team out. That's all I can really do. I can't worry about who is going to be here."

Yes, this deserves its own thread. No, it does not belong in the Braylon wants out of Cleveland thread because the information in this article is contrary to the information in the other.

Yet the topic is the same, which is the intent of threaded discussions, hence the merge.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's simple, Braylon. Shut up, catch the ball, and all will be well w/ you & the fans.

First off though, just shut up . . .

Good advice.. now if we could just get the fans to shut up.

Nevermind Edwards, we are saved

Hubbard gets the call to active roster
Steve King, Staff Writer
12.17.2008
Just as the season was ending for one Browns draft pick, there was a new start for another one.

The Browns announced on Wednesday that, among other personnel moves, inside linebacker Beau Bell has been placed onto the Injured Reserve List with a knee injury, and wide receiver Paul Hubbard has been promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Bell, the Browns' top selection in the 2008 NFL Draft (104 overall), will have arthroscopic surgery on Thursday. The hard-hitting UNLV product had missed time earlier in the year with a knee problem that resulted in arthroscopic surgery, but said the latest injury is to the other knee.

"I hurt it against Indianapolis," Bell said as the Browns began getting ready for Sunday's home finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. "My knee just kept swelling up and I thought it was just some tendinitis, but it wasn't."

Bell played in just four games this year, entirely on special teams. His highlight came against Jacksonville on Oct. 26 when he forced a fumble on a kickoff return that was recovered by teammate Joshua Cribbs and eventually led to a fourth-quarter field goal by Phil Dawson in a 29-27 win.

"Any injury is a setback, and being unable to finish the season is an even bigger setback," Bell said. "Really, it's the biggest setback I've ever had in my football career.

"But at the same time, I don't consider this to have been a wasted year. I still got to practice and learn. I still got to work on my technique with the help of the older guys."

Hubbard was the fourth of the Browns' five draft picks, being tabbed in the sixth round, at No. 191 overall. The big (he's 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds) and athletic Wisconsin productwas waived just before the regular season openerand quickly re-signed by the Browns to their practice squad, where he had spent the entire season.

"It's definitely been a learning experience for me this year," Hubbard said. "Things happen, and you have to adjust to them. When you're a rookie in the NFL, it's like being a freshman in college in that you're starting over.

"I talked to my father about it, and he said that things happen for a reason," he said. "The Lord wanted it to play out this way. I've just got to move forward now."

If he drops a pass on Sunday, boo 'til your hearts content.. but if you see him in public, shake his hand and tell him you still have high hopes for next year.

I think Edwards should just stop talking about this. He's dug a hole and nothing he can say will dig him out. Truth be told, he stands a much greater chance of making things worse, talking about the Drive and such.

Just drop it Edwards. Let your play do the talking (for good or for ill).

He's thinking out loud and telling the truth...which is always a dangerous thing to do.

But those who like him - will still like him.
Those who hate him - will still hate him.

And frankly those who just really are die hard fans and could care less about his interviews just what he brings to the table...this talk won't do anything one way or another.

Braylon Edwards isn't sure he can catch a break, either.
When he consistantly catches passes he'll get a break..
OOPS he'd dropped it

Edwards also believes that fans begrudge him because of the team's infamous championship failures. Denver's John Elway broke Cleveland's heart with a 98-yard drive in the 1986 AFC title game, and one year later, Browns running back Earnest Byner fumbled at the goal line in another loss to the Broncos.

That is a load of crap Dropwards....only stupid braindead hateful fans would even associate those events with you let alone the team..you just need to shut up..you don't know what to say.
U have a ton of talent..you just don't know how to use too well...

I disagree that they aren't associated. I agree that it's not a direct association, but if you don't think Browns fans have frustrations built up from 30 years ago and that isn't reflected in their actions today, then I think you are wrong. Nobody looks at BE and thinks about the Drive or the Fumble.. people look at BE (and this whole season) and see another in a long line of disappointments dating back to the 60s.. or as far as most fans can remember.

I think most fans do their best to look at each season as a fresh start but the minute things start to go bad.. a lot of fans get the "Here we go again" doom and gloom feeling...

I'm not saying fans are wrong for feeling that way and I'm not saying he's wrong for pointing it out.. it just is what it is.. Browns fans have 30-40 years of disappointment and frustration built up and in the right cirumstances, will take it out on whoever they can find.. and this year, he's been an easy target. Tons of players have missed tons of assignments this year, but when he does, it's out there for everybody to see..

Exactly,

I honestly like Edwards' play, when he's catching the ball. But do I want to trade him after his play this season? No freakin way, there's no one on this team we can replace him with and no team is going to give us anyone or a pick valuable enough to replace him. Do we want Stallworth to be our number one reciever? Yeah right........ So in that case, we're sort of stuck. Unless we get Crabtree and trade Edwards for a good pick, there's just no reciever who we can get who deserves to have that many balls thrown to them.

May be Antonio Bryant will become available next year? Pain in the butt in the locker room, but we need a second tier number one guy, which is what Edwards is right now.

Sorry Braylon, play well, and then we'll trade you for a decent first round pick. Until then, you stick here and have little leverage to any contract situation.

As for me, I hope the best for Braylon. I hope he starts catching passes like last year and we'll be much better.

As my highschool coach used to say (and still does actually) "If people talk about you and say you have talent, what it means is you don't do it on a consistent basis and you need to work your ass off to get better."

I played 20 some years ago, and that statement applies directly to b.e. today.

definitely he is reaching a bit regarding the drive and the fumble.

But what he is alluding to is the Browns fan Alibi to blowing up and reacting frustrated...its the fundamental lack of patience of the average Browns fan to see things through. In other words BE is stating how much is the hatred that has been shown towards him...OSU vs Mich crapola? How much is about the drops and funk that he was in? How much was about us just plain losing? How much of it was about the past heartbreak losses (drive n fumble) ?

A lot of it is a combo of all that...I think regarding hatred shown to BE the History of frustration is miniscule more so the hate and disrespect shown to RAC and even at times Savage is more to that accord. What BE is trying to state...regardless of how accurate he is. Is that the Brown's fans are frustrated....very frustrated and at times they do like to make him their Whipping Boy (not a politically correct statement but a term used in the military and I can't pick another that fits quite like it) In the Military there might be somebody in the plattoon that the sargeant will pick out as his whipping boy. Any punishment not able to pin on somebody that person would get it. Frank Sinatra's character in Here to Eternity???

But sometimes BE feels like he is the Fans whipping boy to get their frustrations out.

Just trying to make sense of what he said and understanding the meaning.

I agree Toad,, he keeps digging a hole and the further he diggs, the harder it's going to be for him to talk his way out of it without sounding stupid.

NOBODY in this town hates Edwards for his time at Michigan. What they hate is his drops.. that's the only thing they really hate.

Now maybe if they see him in public, some foolish person will raz him some for being from Michigan.. but the truth is, if he catches the damn balls, the whole school thing won't even come up.

I'll admit, there may be some fans that can't seperate one from the other.. they are the really STUPID fans that every team has.

He got to smarten up enough to just ignore them and move on.

"I don't want to be traded," Edwards said Thursday. "I want to be here in Cleveland. I want to make plays. I want to have fun, and I just want to enjoy it.

I have a problem with this statement!

If you want to just have fun and enjoy yourself; then you don't have a winning attitude. Fans want to win, if you want to have fun, then it looks like you aren't concerned with winning. Everyone wants to enjoy themselves and have fun at their job, but if you really want to succeed at your job then you need to do the hard work that isn't fun or enjoyable.

It looks like Braylon wants to stay in Cleveland, because it's an easy paycheck.

I think this is part of the problem. No matter what he says, he is wrong. Winning, the last time I checked, is fun. Most people are happy to put in the time and work when it leads to wins. Where did he say or even imply that he wouldn't put in the time and work needed? He needs to improve, he knows that, everyone knows that. But because he said he wants to have fun it means that he isn't willing to put in the time or effort? Like Edwards said, with some people it will never be enough.
