What i'm trying to say is by finding pro player 's that would fit your system...You now have a shopping list to give your college scouts to go find.....Coke has the pro's broke down and it would be up to TJ to find those college players that are as close to the ones that Coke asked for...

And they've worked together before so there shouldn't be much of a learning curve..I really feel with a Coke and TJ team we can do fine.

This is a good point Nordawg, maybe, just maybe, they could be one big happy and productive family.

For what it's worth...

The two top teams in the AFC this year are our division rivals. Pittsburg and Baltimore will be playing to see who's king of the hill later this week and I'm a little po'ed because the Browns were supposed to be one of them, but that's another story...

Anyway with Baltimore and Pittsburg playing well, our new coaches sure have thier work cut out for them.

Are we in the toughest division in football now?

I think the AFC will rollover the NFC in the Super Bowl this year. If so, we are in the toughest division.

Do you think Flacco and the Ravens are really that good or is their success this season a fluke? If Rothlessberger(SP?) wins another Super Bowl, I will have a meltdown! Are these two teams really this good?

What can we do to make us more competitive against these two teams?

How would you contain Flacco and Big Ben?

What would you like to see our offense do to breakdown these two GREAT defenses?

I think we must focus on defense. We have to have a defense that keeps us in every game. We need to get alot more pressure on the QB. We need to limit the passing game to short (less than 10 yards) gains. We need to shut down the run.

Does this mean we need a defensive overhaul? Since the entire new coaching staff seems to be D minded, can they make the difference or are we going to need a ton of new talent to be competitive?

I'm tired of waiting for Ray-Ray and company to retire. Where is our Palamoluo(SP?)? What do we need to do?

Is this asking for too much? Because I see it week in and week out with our rivals? What are they doing that we can't? and Why?

As for the offense... I would like to see a WCO installed for Quinn. Trade DA if possible (please don't turn this into a QB thread), Trade KW2, Trade Lewis and try to bring in a versitile RB and a real #2 WR (Whosyamama would be nice).

Anyway... discuss and enlighten.

That thing frickin scares the bejesus outta me ...

Also, a higher post count doesn't mean anything when it comes to talking about anything. Some of the biggest yappers just yap to hear themselves or get others to be like them. Quality, not quantity.

Well, I don't think Flacco is that good at all, but Ben I think is a pretty decent QB.....what makes these 2 teams as good as they are is obviously their "D"'s...which in turn makes the QB's look alot better than they really are....as long as they don't go in there and fumble and throw INT's every drive, the defense can keep them in, or in some cases, win the games for them...alot of Clevelands problem has been personel scouting I think.....it seems that we always find the guys that are injury prone...maybe with this new regime in place, we will find our Ed Reed, or Troy Polamalu....but I personally don't think so.....I , for one, don't like the decisions that have been made so far except for Ryan...and that is strictly because I'm just curious....

I don't think the entire defense needs an overhaul......we got a few playmakers......Shaun Rogers, D'Qwell, Wright, McDonald.....and we also have some others guys that we haven't got a chance to see much of in Peek, Bell, Orr.....so who knows....if Ryan brings in a good scheme for these guys, maybe we will have something.....If you look at Baltimore and Pitt this year....their DB's really aren't that good....they have all-pro safties....but in Baltimore you had Rolle and Buchanon I think (McCallister has been hurt for awhile)...and Pitt started Taylor (who is pretty good) and Townsend....I don't think that any of these guys, with the exception of Ike taylor, are any better than our DB's.....so you would have to agree that the LB's are where the key to success lies in a 3-4.....and we simply don't have that yet...and you would think that with a guy like Rogers in the middle....which neither Pitt or Baltimore has a guy like Rogers, that the LB's would be able to make more plays than they did......which leads me to believe that without knowing what we have in the young players, I go to free agency and get veteran LB's from 3-4 schemes to come in here.....being a new coaching staff, and the high expectations that the fans have of this team, their goal should be at least 8-8 this year.......but that ain't gonna happen if we put the same D on the field as last year, with by adding maybe a couple of rookies from the draft...

If this coaching staff is as half as smart as they think they are, then I think they can find away to make this a good year for Cleveland...the Offense, as of right now, can be extremely potent. Now depending on whether or not the new "O" coord brings in an entirely new scheme will be what determines our fate.......

Just my opinion.......

Peppers won’t sign long-term deal with Panthers

By MIKE CRANSTON, AP Sports Writer 1 hour, 36 minutes ago

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—Julius Peppers wants out of Carolina.

The four-time Pro Bowl defensive end has decided he won’t sign a long term deal with the Panthers and wants to play in a 3-4 defense. His agent, Carl Carey, said Saturday that Peppers hopes to play for another team to “reach his full potential.”

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2002 draft, Peppers had a career-high 14 1/2 sacks this season and becomes an unrestricted free agent.

The Panthers could place the franchise tag on Peppers that would force him to play for Carolina next season, but it would cost the team about $16.7 million in a one-year deal.

General manager Marty Hurney could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday.

Any thoughts?

So it appears that we won't be getting Peppers because he wants to play for a contender, if Ray lewis does in fact go to Dallas, then I highly doubt that the Ravens won't re-sign Suggs and Scott.......I also heard on Sporting News Radio that Jim Mora Jr is wanting to make a HUGE play for Haynesworth.....so with all of that being said, that leaves Cleveland with what....???If your wanting a DE...not really anything unless your wanting the experience of a Bertrand Berry...there are some DT out there, but I think we are good there.....Now, if we go like I hope we do in the draft, and go LB......then I can't see us doing much in the way of FA there either.....There are a few out there, without knowing if they have re-signed yet or not....you have Jon Vilma, Karlos Dansby, Channing Crowder, Mike Peterson...and some others...I just tried naming what I thought were the better ones....So, in assuming that we keep the LB's we have and the ones we get in the draft, the takes us to our DB situation.......we have Wright, and McDonald, and due to financial restraints, I think we re-sign Holly and Jones.....in FA, you have some players out there in Dunta Robinson, Bryant McFadden, Oshiomogho Atogwe who is a good saftey, and Nnamdi Asomugha.......I wonder if he is attached to Ryan at all....... ......wouldn't that just sure up the secondary in one signing......so, after all of this rambling, The only thing I can see us doing in FA now is maybe making a play for Asomugha (simply because of Ryan signing with us...I don't know if he has re-signed yet or not) and maybe trying to do something on the O-line...there are some pretty decent ones out there to be had........All in all, IMO, it's gonna be a rather boring FA period for Cleveland, unless they do some trading.......but who will want to pick up the tabs for DA, Stallworth......no one...I think we are screwed with Stallworth for awhile.....DA, might be of some value to someone....KC, Detroit, Jets, Minn, are a few places I can see him maybe competing for a starting gig.......If we get anything done, IMO, it will have to be via trades.......any ideas.....??????

Here is a web-site ..... Browns Mock draft results .....that took mock drafts and broke it down by what player was drafted in how many of the mock drafts.....by teams, and percentages.....this link should take you to the Browns....I thought that it was pretty interesting....
