I was watching CNN at the gym this morning, and the park was packed at 6am. Those people are nuts.
I'm not standing in 20 deg weather to watch someone give a speech for 20 mins, much less several hours beforehand.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

I appreciate the historical part of this and the excitement that comes from it and any change on this level. I do not however, see Obama as a great man or even a particularly good one at this point in time. I find his views flawed to say the very least. He may prove to be a great man and president, although in my opinion, he'd have to change a great many things about himself. Good luck and God bless you Obama. Enjoy this day, tough days are ahead....don't make them worse.

Jules...
I used to be a life long member of the party that lost its way over the last 8 years. Many elected republicans have admitted, their party needs to do a gut check, I agree.
I view our country as teetering on the edge and if we as a people, continue to separate ourselves from each other and cannot come together for the good of our country, the country will continue to decline.
It will take time...longer than most realize...all Americans need to be patient...
This is Obama's day...may God Bless
Tomorrow, the work begins...mac

Bah. J/C
People are acting like Obama is going to make such an impact as a president, when in fact I see him just doing what the last few presidents have and just follow their own agenda. The hype the media is giving this is somewhat sickening, but this is our country, make a big deal out of something that shouldn't matter and ignore the actual problems. At least four more years of crap. This is a dark day for our country and today just shows how dumb a people we are as a whole.
It is sad that people are focused on his color when they should be focused on how he green he is as a politicain. Sad when all the focus is put on something that shouldn't matter. With that good luck Obama you will need it.

I don't care what your politics are.
This is an awesome site...and a complete 180 compared to Bush's inauguration. Like they just said on CNN "There are no partisan politics today."

I don't truly believe it. But I can't hear the whiners.
In all seriousness though, this inauguration is 10000000x more unified than the last one.

Quit drinking the CNN koolaid. It's hype over substance, which brings the sheep out in numbers. It's really quite simple. But it's funny as hell that you all believe this stuff.

Very clearly, you can tell the difference in unification this country has now over when Bush had his inauguration day.

How old were you 8 years ago on Bush's 1st Inauguration day? 10? I'm sure you were quite the political scholar and can recall it intimately to compare.
One day doesn't unify squat. Once Obamapalooza is over, he's on the clock. I hope he's a great President because we need it, but we don't know anything yet and you guys are all ready to construct the monument site showing him walking on water.

Obamapalooza....nice!
I can't believe this is actually moving people to tears.
Ammo - sure, there are 1M people there, and lots watching but that doesn't mean unity. I feel no more unity than before; the same partisan crap is going to continue until we can eliminate the 2 party system. Though I didn't vote for Obama, I do hope he is the greatest President we've ever had. I will give him a chance, even though I do not believe in his message.
Maybe there seems to be more unity because there isn't as much of a war going on by the losing side this time?

Exactly. The party of "racists and hate" have far too much class then to try and be divisive. Those that didn't vote for Obama seem to be much less bitter then all of those who didn't like Bush. The only thing divisive about Bush's two inaugurations was his opponents. I have never heard any incoming president have a divisive speech. Only those who opposed the president.

Yeah, first he interrupted the Chief Justice reciting the first line back before he was done.
Then he completely forgot the next line.

If that's the truth, the American people are far more fickle then I previously thought. We shouldn't need the election of a single man to unite us... If that's the case, I don't see how we ever will achieve that goal.
I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

Was pretty funny to watch really....just stopped talking and stared ahead for 2-3 seconds before Chief Roberts bailed him out.....and then left out the word protect and just said defend the constitution.

Baaaaaaaahhhhhh.......Baaaaaaaaahhhhhh.......Baaaaaaaaaahhhhhh....
Hey wait a tic....what's this ring doing in my nose????
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What a media we have....Don't you think???? I mean the minute Obama is elected....the Iraq War becomes a dead story. No more daily death counts. I mean the situation is no better or worse than before the election when we were getting HAMMERED every day with the doom and gloom of what was going on over there....But I don't see any of that now....Where is mac and Pit's endless crusade in the name of the soldiers? Where are all of the "Bring the Soldiers Home" protests??? Where are all those critics of Bush's innaugural spending now that Obama is spending THRICE the amount in far worse economic times.... No the media no longer focuses on those things...their mission is completed...they have "their" man in office now....and they can now distract the public into thinking everything is not so bad. You can be led around by the nose if you want Ammo, but I have a brain and I know how to use it. And further more I choose to do so.
All I have to say is God save Obama from the narrow minded idiots who would do him harm.....and save him also from those narrow minded idiots who would try to help him....
I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...
What's the use of wearing your lucky rocketship underpants if nobody wants to see them????
