Question GM....tell me...how many kids ahve you adopted after a trip to an abortion clinic and talking a gal or gals outta doing it? I think we both know the answer to that. I bet you would be the first one to say.."those gals shoulda learned to keep their legs closed" when they apply for ADC that your tax dollars pay for... put you convictions to the test and run and ad in the paper...here I'll help you write it:

I have always advocated that we let women decide how this should be handled.
I would be okay with a referendum on abortion with all women of voting age voting either yea or nay on the issue and let that be the law of the land.

cant win and wont win..... its better just to stay out of it... and im 99% against abortion the 1% is for certain circumstances like rape or the baby will have a deformity that would make it die almost instantly.

Alright I didn't know that we don't learn about that stuff in school
If that case was true I would talk to over with God and my family and then make the decision but I would rather have a child be special his whole life rather than just die without ever experiencing any joy from this world.

It's kinda hard not to be judgemental about certain issues on abortion. Portland's situation isn't the sole reason for abortion, or even the most used reason. The problem that GM (if I can speak for him) and others (including myself) have is that is a pretty pathetic birth control method. There are ways to keep from getting pregnant that is much more sensible than murder after conception.
Autumn, you can sit there and defend these actions all you want, but you can't seriously say that it would make more sense to consider the ramifications of an action BEFORE it takes place and PREVENT a pregnancy rather than terminate one afterward. Just because something is legal doesn't make it right.
Pit, I love how you quote part of a Biblical verse. Too bad you didn't post all of it or it's meaning. Judge not lest ye be judged likewise. That doesn't mean I cannot make a judgement on this action (if we had no judgements on actions, there would be NO laws in this country). It means that if I am going to make a judgement, then I will be held to the same standard. Taking Scripture out of context may be popular, but it is also showing ignorance.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that the majority of those millions of abortions that have been performed were for other reasons. I'm sure there are a percentage, but find if very hard to even imagine that the vast majority were for rape victims or life of the mother, etc.

I'm going to speak for myself here.
Abortion, at least for me, is not a "yes or no" act.....yes it is always ok, or no it is never ok....
My problem with "abortion" is those that use it as a birth control method, a "well, it's just not convenient for me to have a kid right now" kind of thing.
Many people are making valid points, but the problem is there is no "one size fits all" on many issues, and abortion is one of them.
