On the brighter side of things ... it looks like Hickson is improving with his added time on the floor. He could really be something a few years down the road. If he adds another 20 or so pounds of Dwight Howard-like muscle, he could be a real beast.

yeah, he just needs to work on his technique, he's very active though, and i love how brown is bringing him along, it's not just garbage time, even before the loss of z, but he's not pinning everything on him... i'm sure brown was tempted to start him at least a little consideirng he has more upside for scoring than andy...

he's a keeper.. looks like he can one day have a post game. rebounding needs a bit of work, body control needs a lot of work... at 20 years old there is so much room for improvement

there's no guarantee he turns into anything other than a role guy, but the potential is there and you don't trade him unless someone offers something you can't refuse, and honestly, gerald wallace(i know he's hurt, but as an example) carlos boozer as a rental, vince carter, or marcus camby just doesn't give us enough back.

with wallace, camby, and boozer all hurt it is looking more and more like wally is probably here to stay. but he played well tonight and isn't a horrible option off the bench.

i know this loss sucks, but it's a loss, and we're fine, if anyone had said we'd be what we are now after z was announced to be lost for a month, we'd all have taken it...

and the poor clippers, they know they're getting it tomorrow... lolz...

yeah i'm going to bed...mike browns def. scheme this game sucked and sucked hard..as i said before..if you do ANYTHING on D, you deny the perimeter..but no..they freaking rtards and do the opposite

Dude, get a clue...

MB had nothing to do with this loss... Look, Orlando can shoot, and when you take quick shots and the long misses come out, you are gonna give up open looks in transition. Obviously that is a bad equation when you are playing the best jump shooting team in basketball... That has nothing to do with MB. It has everything to do with poor offensive decision making and just a lack of trust in teammates on the offensive end. Like Excl said, LB was a bit "mental" tonite, and he was being stubborn trying to get the jumper going..

Keep in mind our 2nd best perimeter defender is out, as well as our best big..

seriously? you tell me to get a clue and then in the same breath say MB had nothig to do with the loss? yeah...keep on reaching

The game on Sunday at Detroit is a big one... To me, THAT is really a statement game. To lose both of our regular season games in the Palace would not be good...

Hopefully, we go home and take care of business tomorrow vs. the Clips..

And for tomorrow nite, maybe the Pistons can do us a favor and beat Boston...

the detroit game is meaningless. they aren't even a player this year..this orlando game would have been a statement game, having 2 starters out, a win would have been a huge statement. unlike LBJ, i actually think orlando could be the surprise team in the playoff if someone catches them on a hot streak, with their atheletic ability and youth, i can see them giving an old wore out boston team fits come playoffs

Just clicking...

No worries on this loss. First, the team learns no other All Stars. Sure, you can say you'll come out and play pissed, but it could have the reverse effect. On top of that, Orlando hears they have 3 All Stars. Can you imagine being a player, and being told you made the All Star team? You'd come out and play relaxed, inspired ball. A huge psychological advantage.

Also, we played a top team on their home floor with 2 starters out. Although we have been playing well, we have to expect some letdowns.

Not worried about this one. Now, Mike Brown can go on that vacation he had scheduled instead of going to Phoenix.

Please explain what you think Mike Brown could have done better in his defensive game plan. Seriously, since you think you know, I would be happy to sit back and hear your take.... I would love to hear some specifics... For some reason, I gotta give MB the benefit of the doubt on this one over Leadtheway

We are the NBA leaders in fewest pts/per game given up and I believe second in opponent FG%.. We lose a game on the road to a good team and you start spouting off at the mouth about how defensive schemes lost this game...

And yes, Detroit is a BIG game.... Doesn't matter how far ahead of them we are, they are our rival team in our division.. Both teams have a big dislike for one another, and Detroit would love nothing more than to sweep their home half of this season's series.. Another reason it is a big game is it that we dont wanna get in the habit of losing back to back road games.. This would be the fourth time that has happened this year if we lose on Sunday...

We got beat by an extremely solid team, plain and simple.

For me, the turning point came after the foul and double technical. We lost our composure after that and never really gained it back. We had a little run at the end but that was more so because Orlando was just killing the clock.

with a win tonight, he's the coach of the east...

so basically, he's the coach of the east.

that game wasn't mike brown's fault, something tells me he wasn't telling lebron to take 18 foot prayers 5 seconds into the shot clock.

it's just a loss, it's a team loss, lebron was bad, mo was off, it's a team loss, no need to single guys out.

as far as the magic being a surprise team, i don't think they are physical enough to win a 7 game series. you don't get hot against boston or cleveland, not for a 7 game stretch.

their guards are going to get abused handily.

Clippers aren't so poor right now. This game should've been over at halftime. Instead we're chucking up garbage shots from 18 feet out without even looking for the pass inside, getting beat in transition, and giving up uncontested 3s. We're lucky that we're even tied with them right now, to be honest. And getting Z back and learning to have to play with him on the floor again is not much of an excuse. We started out on an 18-2 run before letting them outscore us 27-8 over the next 8 minutes. This is a 10 win team with serious injury issues. We should be embarrassing them right now, but instead its us that should be the more embarrassed team.

Think anybody's figured out that leaving that Novak scrub wide open at the top of the arc isn't such a hot idea? Or that maybe somebody should guard Eric Gordon? He's got like 25 points in the first half. This is pathetic basketball.

I know, and its SO FRUSTRATING to watch. We're letting them shoot wide open 3s like they're baseline jumpers or free throws or something.

I'm kind of worried that Lebron has had a bunch of outside shots go in, because I think he might tend to get complacent when he should be trying to take the ball to the basket, every time. I think Austin Carr said it best when he pointed out that they're getting too caught with whining to the refs about fouls and bad calls when they need to just play basketball. Let Mike Brown holler at the officials. It's his job. We don't need anymore stupid double techs or players getting tossed or anything like that. We're making it hard enough to win as it is.

they just mentioned the team got into town really late, maybe that has something to do with it, sounds like an excuse, but this is the clippers, and they need to come out and be themselves. there has been very little energy in this game outside of starting off 11-0 or whatever it was.

detroit is playing boston tough right now too, i have a feeling detroit may spring the upset, when we lose, they seem to lose too.

Yeah, that does sound like an excuse if you ask me. We're playing the Clippers. They have the third worst record in the NBA. What happened to no excuses, Cavs?

Mike Brown must've really read them the riot act, because they finished that game like the Cavs team that we've come to know this season. I was really getting concerned, too. We've let some bad teams off the hook lately, and its starting to be bothersome.

sunday is gonna be tough, i watched a lot of the boston/detroit game and detroit was right there with them.

it would be good to win in detroit though, although i think it's dumb that we go there twice and then they come to cleveland

it was the same thing with us hosting indiana twice and then we go to canseco twice

dumb.

so far cavs are playing like a bunch of sissies, they are still scared of detroit it seems. Sorry, but you can't be an elite team and not be able to beat middle of the road teams. Boston and LA handle thiers. we don't. And gibson is a D leaguer at best wow has he regressed. they need to run a few more plays to get sasha and wally involved, its last years offense so far. lebron handling the ball waay too much

This team could be 48-0 right now and some people would still be displeased with it.

They started to stand around a little bit at the end of the 3rd quarter, I think they were winded but I saw a pretty good effort the rest of the game. Maybe you should rip on Boobie some more, it seemed to help him come out of his shooting slump in the 4th quarter.

The Lakers have already lost to Charlotte, Sacramento, Detroit, Indiana and Miami this year.. Sounds like in your book they aren't elite either ...

Boston has lost to Golden State and Charlotte...

It's a long season..

WTH are you talking about, the CAVS have the best record in franchise history and all you do is come in the Cavs threads and bitch and complain. The team is 37 and 9, they have beat all levels of teams to have a record like that. I get the feeling that if the Cavs were to win the title in a 5 game series, you would cry that it wasnt a sweep.

ya know, phil jackson has a saying "40 before 20" meaning true title contending teams win their 40th game before they lose their 20th...

i'd like to see us get 40 before 10...

and seriously, it seems like the stars are aligning for us to really get a shot at winning all 41 home games, andrew bynum went out with an injury a few days ago and they are due to play us sunday in front of the whole country.

sorry but that was not a good game..don't care what anyone thinks..this wasn't the detroit of old...this was an old detroit team that isn't that good. for 3 quarters they did whatever they wanted, it wasn't until lebron was on the bench and they actually had to run plays did things finally open up. so if you don't like what i say then don't read it, and it's not whining, its called watching the game.

the game that saw us squeak out out a win after they finally realized someone other than lebron can dribble when he was on the bench..seriously if anyone thinks they played a good game must not watch much basketball. That being said, i believe that when west comes back and we can move gibson farther down the bench and we get kinsey back, we will have the deepest team in the nba. One thing i do like, even though i get pissed when they play the lebron offense, they don't quit and we have alot of people that can heat up at any moment. problem is, lebron likes to dominate the ball when he's not shooting well and those people don't get a chance. If there is any flaw in lebrons game, it's his shot selection and decision making when he isn't shooting well. he can get to the cup any time he wants he settles alot. i think he's getting shy about it because he isn't getting the calls, which the nba should be ashamed for letting the face of the nba have to take those kinds of fouls..jordan never got hacked like that and not get calls..jordon was never as strong as lebron either..so that whole dumbass didn't change his path crap is just that and they need to come back after the allstar game and police themselves

don't matter how you get 'em, specially on the road

and this same detroit team lost in the palace friday night to boston by 8...

this piston team ain't as good as they were a few years ago, and with billups gone, yeah they aren't really a title threat, but they are still a pretty good team, they've gone on the road and beaten the lakers, they've beaten orlando at home, they've beaten us as well...

who cares how you get them on the road, just that you get em...

the defense was also pretty good from both sides, and we ended up getting hot with our jump shooting.

i'll take those all day, my friend.

Detroit is a veteran squad, you can not expect to go in and just walk all over them in their house. Detroit played a well as they could and the Cavs were cold shooting early. We stayed in the game until we could warm up and then pulled away.

We won by ten on the road,in a tough place to play, a good solid win for us.

WOW ... What could we offer Toronto though? If we could give them every draft pick from now until 2020, I'd probably do it. We wouldn't need the 2010 free agency ... just resign everyone we have now.

yeah that is an intriguing idea. I am not sure how we could get it done.

According to the trade machine Wally, JJ and Two firsts would work, But that still does not seem like enough for an allstar entering his prime.

I really wonder what it would take, and Just because Bosh wants out, does not mean that management will oblige him.

I am too busy (prolly shouldnt be wasting my time posting right now) to look on hoopshype salary page, but I would expect Toronto to want a team to take on one of their "bad" contracts as well.. Kapono maybe?

Intriguing, but I HIGHLY doubt anything happens with this one...

I just don't see Colangelo pullin the trigger...

Hey, if Eric Snow gets them why cant I?

I always thought it would be cool to get the seats that are right behind the bench. How cool would it be to be able to sit there a foot away from Lebron and the rest of the team and be able to hear everything they say?

I used to sit so close back in the 80's I could hear Mark Price's pre-game prayer. Awesome seats to get whenever you possibly can, but sitting close to Daugherty, Nance, Price, etc... was great. I used to get the quarter stat sheets from Joe Tait, good times.
