Hi everyone,,

Well, the wife went in for Hip Replacement Surgery.. she's under the knife as I type this.

All signs (from pre op) seem fine..

So a few prayers for her would be wonderful,,

That poor lady was in so much pain, I sure hope this ends that for her.. at least long term..

My girl friend's mom just had it. Within hours she was feeling great in the hip area. Its other areas of the body that are sore afterward. She's going to get the other one done in about a month. She is very happy. Its going to be a life changer for her.

Hope she feels better.

Hip replacement generally goes a little smoother than knee replacement. She should be fine once the initial pain from surgery subsides. I wish her well in her rehab.

Okie Dokie,, Surgery went well, she is in recovery and all is right. They will move her to a room shortly... She came through it like a champ.

Doc said that her hip was way worse than they suspected which makde the surgery take longer than expected.. but in the end, She did Great,

What a relief..

WOW, what a day.. just got home a few moments ago.. had to walk the dog and play with him cause he was feeling a bit lonely....

WIfe is doing super.. She made it to her room and is settleing in fine. THey figure she's gonna be there until sometime on Friday and then off to the Rehab place in Aurora... (about 1 mile from our place )

She's got lots of tubes hooked up to her and some stuff on her feet that are meant to keep the blood flowing somehow.. I'd still be there, but I quickly realized that what she needed was sleep and with me around, that wasn't gonna happen so I took off.

Like I said, needed to take care of my little puppy anyway.

I'll visit her tomorrow and let you guys know,

you got it Da Man.....hope all goes well...The 1st couple days will be rough, but it will get better and get better fast after that .I was walking with just a cane 5 days after i got mine...It's just getting through those first 2-3 days...good luck...

Well, she had a horrible night.. pain was the big factor.. they would not give her morphen (sp) last night. because of that, she got NO sleep to speak of. I guess they just put her on it this morning.. I'm so damn mad I could break some people in two up there.

On top of that, my understandng is she has a fever if 101.. So I'm going to be talking to her nurse directly in a few moments by phone. If I can't get some answers,, then it's off to the hospital I go.

I was going anyway, but just not this early..

Thanks for the update, I may be a little late on the original post but the prayers are still on the way for a speedy recovery.

I hope she is doing better. I'll keep her in my thoughts.

Ahhhh,, Good news..

Ok, just got back from visiting her in the hospital... They gave her the pain meds she needed,, she was actually able to get up and walk today (with a walker and a person by her side) she was excited to be able to do that....

She eat some food (hospital turkey and stuffing,,, don't even ask me to describe it YUCK ) But she ate solid food..

THen she was getting tired and basically I knew that if I stayed there with her, she'd try to stay awake so I left and I"m certain she fell back to sleep..

I'll call her about 5 or 6 this evening so see how she's doing.

Good to hear she's getting the pain meds...I'm sure they help. It amazes me how quickly after major surgery they get you up and moving these days.
