mo is amazing..he is the biggest reason for our season so far.. he just does so much for the team. meanwhile..is it me or is hickson regressing?

we are great in games after a loss..which is a good thing come playoffs. but we are 1-5 against the elite teams we have to beat to get the ring...not good. we play so good at home that with home court anything can happen

gotta win on the road if you want a ring, thats why i think home court will go a long way in aiding our cause. cause we're the best in the league at home. About this game, we look like crap right now..had them up 20 and we let them back to 7. i wouldn't want to be that close against wade. getting abused inside again tonight. i think wallace on crutches would be better than what we are currently doing down low

winning on the road during the year and winning on the road in the post-season is a complete different beast. and the cavs have proved they can play tough and win on the road in the playoffs. i honestly don't care about moral victories during the season. just finish with the best possible record. home court matters, but you eventually got win on the road.
people make too much of what happens during the year, cavs swept san antonio, and really, outdid them in every facet of the game in 2007, but in the finals the better team won.
plus, i love how mike brown is able to adjust as a series goes on. even without the personnel, he's been able to make it a series in all but one series (san antonio 07)
think about that boston series last year, with guys still learning the system, and he was able to push boston further than anyone else, including the lakers.
right now the most important thing is finishing out this year, which favors us because we have more home games, and only 2 real tough road games.
and also, keeping guys healthy, and getting guys that aren't back to playing shape (gibson, sasha, and wallace)

one other thing, the last week has proven how important big ben is, maybe not in the box score, but just the way we defend.
sure, we've only lost 1 game in the last 6 which ben didn't start, but we have not defended well, even in the miami and atlanta games which we won, but had to mount a serious late comeback, we looked bad.
we gotta get him back, last night was so evident of that, we are going to get punished inside without him.
if we got him, we can beat anyone in a 7 game series.

exactly what i just said...this team is so weak down low without ben..i remember when the big thing for the 80's cavs was not having muscle down low...hence "brad dorothy" lol, Z is alot in the same mold as brad, great offensive center and situational shot blocker. but ben is the muscle needed down low. we really need to draft his replacement this year.. That is the big need i think..ben maybe has 2 years left. while the majority of the core is pretty set for awhile

ben will also be in wally's spot next year as the guy with the huge expiring contract, his at 2m more than wally's...
i'm not sayin trade the guy, but if a deal is out there... although that is next season. cross that bridge when ya get there.
i think ben can still be productive. but you are right about adding some muscle down low.
leon powe and big baby aren't great players, but they can provide very good minutes off the bench, and that's kinda what we need. they play very decent at both ends of the floor.
jj could be either of those guys in a year or two. let's remember he's still young for a college player. he probably should have stayed at least one more year at nc state, but he has potential to be a great big guy off your bench. he just needs to work harder and let his body mature.
but huge win tonight, bounce back win. next week we go to the west coast for the last time of the regular season.
clips, suns, and kings. 3-0 would be lovely, and not far fetched. 2 lottery teams and one team that will give ya a game.
after that 8 of your next 9 are at the q, and that is where you can seperate yourself from boston.
boston has some very tough road games, at milwaukee who has played a lot better, at orlando, at san antonio, at atlanta.
a definite chance to secure that seed.

The Pistons said Friday that Daly "is being treated for the cancer, and his family is requesting privacy." The 78-year-old Daly coached the Pistons to NBA championships in 1988-89 and 1989-90. He also was the coach of the 1992 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic squad dubbed the "Dream Team." He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1994. J/C.. Bizness as usual at the Q tonite... Enough about tonite and on to the road trip... road wins are always tough, and quite honestly we need to sweep this 3 game trip... we really need to dig deep and stay mentally tough, especially in PHX on Thursday.. PHX is playing for their playoff lives every nite, and Shaq is playing at a very high level. @ LA Clippers Tuesday @ PHX Thursday night TNT @ Sacramento Saturday I think (too lazy to check right now) after we come home from this trip we have 8 out of our next 9 at the Q with the only away game being at NJ, which is definitely very winnable... I think Excl mentioned he was going to the game at Staples on Tuesday... With that said, BRING HOME A VICTORY ON TUESDAY EXCL!!  Go Cavs!

I'll try my best ... although they always seem to throw out a clunker when I watch them on TV. I'm worried if I watch in person, Lebron, Mo and Z will collide at mid-court and sustain season ending injuries. *knock on wood* 
This is actually my frist NBA game ever. The hit on the economy, plus the fact that the Clippers stink this year, have made Clips tickets extremely available and cheap. With as many tickets available on stubhub that I saw ... I'm hoping this turns into a "home" game for the Cavs.

You will have a great time Excl... If you are sitting close (even somewhat close) you will be shocked at how easy these guys make it look in person..
Let's just hope that the guys don't do too much partyin on Monday night....
On a side note, Rondo was a late scratch for the C's today... They are down by 18 at the half to Orlando at home...

looks like the cavs aren't the only ones that struggle on the road against elite teams.
up 2 in the loss column, 20 games left, 12 at home.
if you figure we beat boston, which i know you can never assume, but for the sake of conversation, that would put us up 3 in the loss column...
and here are some possible losses...
thursday night in phoenix
17th at home against orlando, we should win, but that will be a good game.
22nd against in nj. a game we will be favored in, but nj is capable of the upset (second night of back to back, also, which we have been great in this year)
apr 3 in orlando, again, 2nd night of back to back.
we have back to back sundays with san antonio and the celts at home. and really, other than that, there are a few semi tough games in philly and in indy...
can boston make that ground up? because they have some tough games as well.
i really think things are looking very good.

The Celtics will not dress five players when they play at the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Coach Doc Rivers on Monday ruled out Rajon Rondo and Glen "Big Baby" Davis after both sprained their right ankles over the weekend. Rondo was hurt in Friday's 105-94 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers and Davis in Sunday's 86-79 loss to the Orlando Magic. They join superstar Kevin Garnett, Brian Scalabrine and Tony Allen on the sidelines. Garnett has a sprained right knee and Allen has an injured left thumb. Scalabrine has post-concussion syndrome. Rivers said he expects Davis and Rondo to miss at least the next two games. After Miami, Boston hosts the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday and plays at the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. "Kevin will be out longer than the Milwaukee game," Rivers said. "I'm pretty sure of that. I would say Kevin, maybe at the end of the following week at the earliest." Rivers also said he'll limit the time for Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, who each played 45 minutes on Sunday. "Somebody else has to step up and the challenge for me is not doing what I did [Sunday] with Paul and Ray, that can't happen," Rivers said. It's already come through ... on ESPN, they were talking about how Boston was the better team because there was no excuse for Cleveland losing to Boston in Boston, since they were down Kevin Garnet. i will give him credit, he renigged his comment about how he said the cavs were only gonna win 47 games. he ate the crow. from what i have heard out of him lately, he has given them their due.
to be honest, i think people are flipping out too much about the loss in boston.
doc rivers knew big ben wasn't playing, and attacked us at our most vulnerable, which was in the paint, he challenged powe, big baby, perkins, to step up, and they did, give them credit, there were even times where we played decent defense down low, and they made their shots, you have to tip your cap.
if we don't have big ben for the playoffs, i'm worried, but i know he'll be ready to go. not mention that a series with boston, assuming both teams finish 1-2, wouldn't be until may, mid may.
man, if we can sweep this week, i'm gonna start the magic # countdown. because the rest of the league is all home games with one exception. that's where we can load up.
gotta have 3-0, 2-1 worst case scenario, anything more and you'll regret it.

Another thing that doesn't get mentioned is since Z went down, the Cavs have only played two games with the whole starting lineup together (the 21 pt. win against DET and the 19 pt. loss at Houston that Ben broke his leg in.) They are 23-8 during that span (Boston is 21-10 over that same span).

a great point.
i guess we just have to take it for what it is, that the powers that be at espn, don't care much for cleveland.
if lebron signs an extension, will bristol just implode? maybe it'll be like that south park episode with the spontaneous combustion. it'll just disappear. and when you flip on espn, it'll just be the color bars.

the way things are going right now, you're right.
and from what i have read around the net, the cap shrinking has become inevitable. so we may actually see guys like bron and wade re-up this summer to guarantee those monters deals.
it's a possibility.

I think the only two players that will realistically relocate in 2010 are Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony.
I'm not sold on Bosh just yet, but I feel he may end up in a Cavs uniform.

Ndutyme, Melo is not part of the 2010 free agent class... In the summer of 07 Melo signed the longer deal and is not available for free agency until the summer of 2011... Just like LB he has the player option for the extra year (2011-2012)...

although being tied with them won't do it, since they own the tiebreaker, we have to finish better than them...

Yep...Gotta finish better than the Lakers...They win head to head...
As far as Boston's concerned...We MUST win in Cleveland to tie the season series 2-2...
The next tie-breaker since we're not in the same division is Conference Record...And right now we're behind them...We're 3 games behind...33-6 vs. 30-9...
Bottom line...We MUST finish with a better out and out record than the Celts...
Boston's got 6 of the last 8 at home...We need to build up about a 3 game lead the rest of the month...

if we can have a 3-4 game lead in the loss column on boston by the end of the month, i'll be very confident on us winning that seed.
they've also played 2 more games than us, we have 20 remaining, they have only 18...
and after this week, we will have only 5 road games left all year.

it would be joyous. it would be a prequel to an almost inevitable playoff series, because it's been made clear that homecourt is probably deciding this thing.
i still think the cavs have a better chance of pulling one off in boston than vice versa.
