Hey Crazy...looks like you and I were on to something when we discussed whether coachb was legit.
Though I did send my regards, I did take note that coachbjr did not respond when I told him I was one of his dad's favorites on this message board.
While the football stuff was a con, lets not forget about Bs political discussions. He told me more than once he had friends who had died in the Iraq War and he considered them as family, therefore he knew what it was like to lose someone in the Iraq War....it was most likely just a lie too.
Hopefully he will reap what he has sewn...in spades.

LOL, I'm surprised it took this long. I remember a conversation with Diam a coupla years ago when he asked me if I thought Coach was actually a coach. I responded to him that I didn't think so.. he had waaaaay too much time on his hands to be posting during football season. Heck, I said my 10 year old son's soccer coach doesn't even have that kind of time. Never mind a HS coach.
You guys remember when I called Coach out for making a comment along the lines of "Well when my son gets back on the field, we'll start winning games"? I said that was a stupid and telling comment. I got blasted for that. ROFL..
Honestly now, think about it, would a coach say THAT?? Any legit coach with an ego would never ever say something like that.. that would call his own coaching into question.
It's about time.. busted.

What you may be missing is: this coach guy is real. There is no doubt about it. His story? It's looking like it's not real. But there is a person behind the apparent lies. A person that posted here for a long time. Maybe some of it was made up (the inside scoop thing), but not everything was fake.
To whoever wished that coach actually has cancer: first of all, we don't know that he doesn't., and secondly, why in the hell would you wish someone to have cancer? As you said yourself, you had a cancer scare - you would want to put that on someone else for telling lies on a message board?

Does that make me bitter and a bad person, maybe, probably, but I don't really give a crap. I prayed for this guy because I know how terrible it is to feel that you have cancer, what is going to change, how long will you live...and this guy LIES about having it? He can seriously go away.
If he lies about one thing, there is no reason for me to believe he told the truth about the other things. The guy was an attention whore, and saying he had cancer would be the biggest thing to get attention.

I'm pretty much with you on this one.. It's akin to the story about the boy who cried wolf.. If you don't have cancer and lie that you have it and get caught in the lie, people who actually have cancer will end up being ignored because they think it's a lie.
But this explains why CoachB went from being Über-Liberal in 2000 and 2004 to being Über-conservative in 2008 in the political debates.
But like it has been said, this board has been one big family to a lot of us posters, even if most of our interactions have been over the internet. And I know a lot of posters would extend out and help members here.. I been offered help once before here though I declined it. It's a nice feeling and it gets tarnished by someone claiming to be something they aren't.

 i had my thoughts that he wasnt legit for a while...but it really doesnt matter now he has been exposed. just wait tho im sure we will see this poster again under a different name...and it will be interesting to see how many people he can reel in yet again with lies. while i dont wish cancer on him, i sure as hell hope he falls down the steps, or at the very least sits on the toilet and doesnt have any toilet paper near by! hehe

Has the person saying he was CoachB / CoachB's Son been confronted? Did they offer any defense for their behavior? Is it possible, like someone else suggested, that the cancer treatment - drugs, chemo,etc - has sent him around the bend? Even if they lied about being a coach, or having inside info, is it possible that this fiction was used to get relief from an unfaceable reality?
So many questions, none of it is really my business, I suppose. Not to be pollyanna-ish, but I'd just say that this person is in need of our pity and prayers, even more than we thought.

I can't remember him being a Liberal.  Was he even around in 2000? I know he had a lot of posts (which others had said and was a major red flag in hindsight) but i'm pretty sure i was here before him and i wasn't around that far back...

Interesting thread to start your day off with a cup of coffee.
I am not shocked one bit, this guy had fraud written all over him, and actually am shocked that some of you believed him, but I guess I am just a bit more skeptical then others.
A few PM's have been exchanged with B, and I can say things never added up, and he doubled talked allot in posts, almost when he forgot what he said in the past.
When you lie constantly, it will bite you in the ass, and it seems thats what happened here, and will probably happen to other posters in the future not to mention any names - Derden, but liars will hang themself in the long run, a good story is fine if you leave it at that.

I'm amazed, I'm in shock, I'm annoyed and I'm just flat out ticked off.
We see a fellow dawg in trouble, we pour our hearts out for him and this is the result?
About once a month or maybe a little more often, I would PM Coach.. just to ask how he is doing. Just to see if there was anything I could do for him. even if it was just a kind word to pick up his spirits.
I'd get a response from him telling me about procedures that he was enduring. Having been around others that have had cancer, but not being a real guru about it, it seemed that what he was saying made sense. It appeared to be real.
I guess as of this moment, it still could be. We apparently don't know for sure.
But I believed him.. I'm like someone else said on here. I don't pray a lot, but I did for Coach. And like Michele, I feel used, abused and cheated on.
I just had to get that off my chest.

Well, I always questioned the coaching thing, I just figured he was probably a high school coach or lower and just wanted to prop his opinions up a bit.
I said to Michelle several times that it was funny whenever he was arguing a subject he always KNEW a person in that profession, or had a relative in Iraq, and on and on.
My B.S. meter went off immediately with the "son" calling him Superman and gushing all over the place about the wonders of his father. It's pitiful that he went to that extent to make himself look like some kind of saint.
The cancer thing I did buy and I felt bad about it. I couldn't even imagine someone making something like that up so it never even entered my mind that he was lying.
For those of you making excuses or questioning if this is true or not, don't bother. It's true and he's a class A asshat.
He went from little lies that escalated and ended with a whopper, I guess based upon his need for whatever a person like this gets out of it. He went from pathetic to disgusting.
People are no damn good.

Wow, I never really even questioned him. I only read most of his posts between-the-lines because he always spewed so much "I know it all" crap, that I just read enough to follow a threads lineage. Looking back though, I do recall wondering how he always "knew someone", but just didn't care beyond that. Sad to see it be like this, it's not like you people are hard to get to know, well some of you are. But unless you come across as high and almighty, everyone is very supportive and accepting here.
