well i think you misunderstand me....i'm not saying they should show up in the US and abandon, or forget where they came from....certainly not their religion...and even there name....i posted that because many did willingly change there names to "fit in"
especially not the food

what i am implying, is at the end of the day, when they became US citizens, they became Americans...
in the past, immigrants were spread out all over the country, so they could assimilate into American society.....now you have entire sections of states, that are for all intents and purposes little foreign countries, in the US....are they American....yes...are they becoming American....no
thats all you read about in Southern California, and the states bordering mexico...
i'll bet if we showed up there, we would have a difficult time ordering food...
its one thing for a first generation immigrant to struggle with the english language....i can accept that, as long as they try....but there are places in the US right now that are fast becoming foreign to the vast majority of us...
go read about what Teddy Roosevelt had to say about "hyphenated" Americans....and how its detrimental to the US.
were all different...and thats what makes us great.....but at the end of the day....were American...English is the American language....Americans have the right to choose there religion....Americans have a right to eat what they want...
But we are "one" country....and it don't seem that way to me anymore...
