That was just sickening, If ever I saw a bullpen who needs to give back money it is the Indians,

sorry it's time to blow it up and start over, release them all....I cant watch them any more, it's sickening........teams works it's behind off and 3-4 bullpen players spoil it for the rest, time to do something, saddly it's all of them witch leads me to believe it has something to do with pitching coaches, who ever is in charge of the bull pen need to be let go NOW....

Sad.....

Stop deluding yourself. There is no hope with this Indians team; there are only brief teases followed by collossal letdowns.

Last night, I got home around 9:30-ish or something like that and tuned into the Lakers-Nugs game, and at halftime I saw the scroll at the bottom of the screen show the Tribe was winning in the bottom of the 9th. I thought to myself, "heck, they've been terrible, let's switch over and watch them actually win one.". Yeah, what a joke that was. To sit there and watch our "closer" systematically and single-handedly destroy what should have been a win was completely disgusting.

All I can say is that I hope to hell that Gin-n-Kok have got their act together because waiting for next basketball season to start in order to have any Cleveland sports worth watching is really gonna suck.

Browns is the Browns

OK, the tribe managed to take the lead from the Royals in the 7th inning (on a day with their Superstar Greinke going 6IP, 8H, 8K and 2ER). Pavano is in line for the win as of now..........here's the question:

Which Indians pitcher will end up with the loss for today's game?

Pavano
Aquino
Betancourt
Herges
Laffey
Lewis
Vizcaino
Wood

I'll go with Betancourt.

6-3 lead now.........as we know, NO LEAD is safe with this bullpen.

I doubt Wedge goes with Wood in the 9th if we're still leading by 3. He pitched Tue and last night...and today is a day game.

And what is Sizemore still doing at the top of the order? He's batting just over the Mendoza line. Drop him.

8-3.... 5 run lead. If they only had one at bat left I'd feel better now, but with 2 at bats left, there is still a lot of baseball to play....

Here we go........bases loaded in the 9th with no outs for the Royals (walk single walk).

I'm thinking Herges will get taken out......so the replacement will have to be careful. He'll be on target for the loss.

And look who it is....Betancourt. One grand slam, walk and then a homer......then I win!

Side note, I know our bulley stinks....but I'm impressed with the Royals late inning pressure. We all know what they did to Wood after Lee came out of the game on Tuesday......but they got the bases loaded last night against him as well. And here they are when them loaded AGAIN!

Whoa....didn't see that coming.

Betancourt got DeJesus to foul out to 3rd and then Callaspo to GIDP to end the game. Nothing like three quick outs with the game on the line. Now lets get the heck out of KC!

I know it's a shoulda coulda woulda statement.....but we should be 5-2 in our last 7. Our bullpen ruined 2 games.....3-4. Weak.

Bob Hunter commentary: Wedge's pitching options rapidly taking on water
Sunday, May 24, 2009 3:40 AM
By bob hunter

CINCINNATI -- Eric Wedge might have to start rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic again. It seems the perfect description of his job.

When starting pitcher Anthony Reyes had to come out of Friday night's game after three innings because of elbow problems, the Cleveland Indians manager had another in a continuing series of harrowing, what-do-we-do- now? moments.

One member of the Clippers rotation, David Huff,

was already up with the Tribe. Another, Jeremy Sowers, had been sent back to triple-A after two ineffective starts. Aaron Laffey began the season as a starter, had

been asked to bail out an ineffective bullpen and had done a good job, so he looked like uh, wait a minute. Why is Laffey rubbing his side?

So Laffey marched out of the game and joined Reyes on the DL, and the Indians went to Plan D or E, I forget which. But with the ship taking on water and the deck chairs floating toward the edge, does it really matter?

Sowers and reliever Rich Rundles -- surprise! -- emerged again from that spinning triple-A revolving door. Presumably, Sowers will get another chance to start and show that his stats with the Clippers -- 2-1 with a 2.03 ERA in five starts -- are a better indication of who he is than the 12 earned runs and 14 hits he allowed in nine innings with the Indians.

I say presumably because Wedge didn't seem overly excited last night about the prospect of moving Sowers back into the rotation. But hey, maybe he was just waffling because the way things are going, he doesn't know who will even be on his woeful team by the time Reyes' turn comes up Wednesday. The poor guy seemed in such good humor in the dugout before the game that it struck me that he might just be suffering from shellshock.

"I'm not sure right now," a smiling Wedge said. "Obviously Sowers is an option, but let's just see how it goes from day to day right now. We'll focus on tonight and then work from there."

Ah, yes. Tonight. That was Huff's second start with the Tribe, after he gave up seven runs in 3 2/3 innings in his major-league debut last Sunday at Tampa Bay. This time, Huff allowed six runs in three innings against the Cincinnati Reds, all the result of three home runs, including two by Joey Votto.

At this point, all Wedge would say about Huff's chances of making another start was "until something is made decision-wise, he's still here."

But then, how many options does Wedge have? Huff is a former sandwich round pick (between first and second round) in the 2006 draft and has been ranked among the Indians' best prospects by Baseball America the past two years, so it's not like the Indians were taking a flyer on some schlep with no talent.

The problem, in part, is that he wasn't supposed to be here right now, just like a lot of these guys. Regardless of who or what you choose to blame for the 16-27 Indians' predicament -- injuries, poor front-office decisions, the manager -- it's obvious the Indians' record is a direct result of poor pitching.

The Indians went into last night's game 13th in the American League in ERA (5.53), ahead of only Baltimore (5.61). And although the bullpen problems got most of the attention early, the blame is now shared about equally between starters (5.52) and relievers (5.63).

While it seems obvious to say it, those waiting for the Indians to come charging back into the race are fooling themselves. Not with this kind of pitching.

Last night, the Indians won the game 7-6, in part because the Reds had to call up Homer Bailey to take Edinson Volquez's place in the rotation, and he walked a career-high six batters and in 4 1/3 innings and gave up six runs himself.

Wedge doubtless recognized him, even though he was wearing a different uniform.

Just another deck chair.

And a 1-2-3 9th for Wood!

I bet Tampa left for the airport without changing or showering. Today's win makes it 17 in a row against Tampa in Cleveland. I'm sure they don't want to spend a single extra second in town.

I know we're 21-28......but BRING ON THE YANKS! We beat on CC this Saturday!
