It's gonna be discussed.....whether you request or not that it be on here. It was part of his life, even though he was never convicted of it.....

He was a weirdofreakazoid.....I don't care that he was ever on the Earth. That may sound harsh but that's my opinion.

Now we can all wait for all the MJ books to come out and the MJ movie and a bunch of other crap.......

Did not like his music. Did not like his whole persona and will not miss the whole media circus around him.

I do hope he has found piece from himself.

The man is on the short list of the most influential musicians of the 20th century.

Top 2.

Beatles 1. MJ 2. Elvis 3.

After a while I usually get annoyed listening to the media gush and kiss up to certain acts. Even the ones I love like The Beatles, Nirvana, and Michael Jackson. Enough is enough. We get it, they were great. Move on . . .

That said, it is really hard to describe how HUGE that Thriller album was. It flat out changed music. Every single song is so good it is like a greatest hits album. I remember getting together w/ my relatives back in the early 80s and realizing the album was equally liked among my 8 year old self, my uncle in college, my parents, and even my friggin' grandparents.

I am actually envious of anyone that got to see him perform live.

Fairwell MJ. Thanks for the music.

But you'll be back, right?

No he was not. In fact, just the opposite. He was acquitted on all counts. It was a very public trial and a very trying time for him. But in the end the stigma carries on in spite of the 27 young men (Macaully Caulkin among them) that came to his defense and swore under oath that Michael never was improper in any way.

Some folks just stick their head in the sand anyways and believe what they want.

Didn't MJ own the rights to a bunch of Beatles songs? I wonder who gets those now, if he still had them.

He left them to Paul McCartney in his will. They mentioned it last night on the news. Not sure if that is 100% accurate or not, but that is what was said on MSNBC.

RIP Michael Jackson. I'm 32, and when I was younger, MJ was all we listened to! Hell, just 2 weeks ago I bought a best of MJ cd. His music will live on!

Was he ever found GUILTY in the court of law for child molestation?

I am not sure whether or not he was---and if he wasn't---then you can't, with 100% certainty, call him a pedophile.

Some things that I am certain of.........

He was the KING of pop.

He was a HUGE influence on pretty much every pop star since.

He didn't really have a childhood.

He loved kids, and acted as though he himself was still a child.

He put himself in many situations with children that left him with serious legal problems. Whether he molested anyone--with 100% certainty---no one really knows but Michael Jackson---and possibly the victim.

I think it is quite foul the way people are branding him a child molester---when in fact, to my knowledge, there is no real truth beyond the accusations of a confused young boy or young boys.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all this said, I can say Rest in Peace. And his family deserves the peace and respect that everyone deserves upon death. The man was an icon, he was one of the biggest and most celebrated and storied artists of the past 20 or 30 years.

There is definitely a void left with his passing, and to close:

I am 100 % sure that Michael Jackson brought more joy, influenced more people, and contributed more to the world than any of you bashing him on this internet message board. His life will be celebrated through his music and vision for much much longer than any of you will be walking the earth. So just know that he did a lot more with his life than many of us, and I am pretty sure that he would have been respectful of our lives had he learned of our passing---and I believe that we at least owe him that

I really don't think there was a bigger Michael Jackson fan here than me. I remember my parents and relatives listening to the Jackson 5. I started listening with off the wall with my brother and sister. Thriller hooked me in for life, and he's made some of the best music the world has ever heard, judging by record sales, continuously selling out tours (not just tour stops, but the actual tour), and just the love he received EVERYWHERE he went.

I am heartbroken, moreso than to see his life degrade into a circus.

Not many people's songs can get me all misty, but he had than knack. He made the best love song ever made in my opinion, Lady in my Life.

I will surely miss him, as if he was my own family member.

It's sad that so many people (or should I say, the usual suspects, you know who you are) came to this thread to denounce the man, and claim they never liked his music. But the simple fact is, parts of his life are open for that debate. Peophilia is a serious problem...and crime. True, he was never convicted, but it's a good chance he did something inappropriate. However, I wasn't there, so I can't say for sure.

Nevertheless, he has died a young and somewhat tragic death. I choose to remember the good about the man. The millions he's raised and donated to help the people of this planet.

May his soul be blessed, and his life cherished...for the good and bad.

No single entertainer, in my eyes, has made more of an impact than him...not even elvis.

Goodbye Mike

I agree with Derden.

I don't know the facts but I know it's not my place to judge. I also know he had a traumatizing childhood that most likely stunted his mental and emotional growth. If you think about it, he never got to experience his childhood, which explains the Neverland/love for children stuff (I said love for children, not molesting of children).

As someone said earlier, I hope he finds his peace in death that he could never find in life.

I have to side with Jules and the other two ... Yikes!

I can't help but feel bad for the guy. He NEVER had a normal life, and the media did everything they could to destroy the guy later on. Only a few people really know what really happened regarding the pedofilia ... but he was never convicted of it. So I'll leave that up to the proper "authority" to do the judging.

As far as his life ... I don't think ANYBODY has experienced anything like it. Yes you have child actors who are pushed too hard by parents and don't know how to handle the fame (and most of them turn out with major issues too!) ... but nobody experienced the type of fame MJ did. He missed out on a childhood, and a normal life in pretty much every way shape and form. I can't help but feel bad for a guy that had to live a life like that ... regardless of how creepy he might of been.

Even though he done alot of good? He raised millions of dollars for children all over the world. Raised awareness for social issues all over the world. And let me ask you haters this...

If MJ really did molest your child, would you settle for a measley couple million dollars and shut up? People were trying to make money off of an easy target.

I'm one of those people that talks about letting the law handle things, but if my child was ever harmed in such a way...I'd go against every grain in my body and kill the SOB. Money couldn't buy me on this.

it's unfortunate when anyone dies before they should. negative people choose to focus on one trait but when you think of all the good that MJ did and the effect his music INFLUENCED the times, his contributions to society simply cannot be ignored. while i didn't grow up totally into his music, and often, i preferred remakes of it, we can't deny his talent, how his music opened up the door to other black and minority singers, and all the charity he was involved in. I would strongly encourange anyone to read his wiki just to get an biographical overview, from his own abused childhood to all the good that he's done through his life. when you read about how he would dedicate all the profits of a cd or a concert to charity, you see someone who clearly had a good heart but did not necessarily develop/grow up like normal people did.

i find it funny that people who resent this argument first points to the amount of money he had. i don't understand how that's all some people think about and i wonder if it's a statement of people's dissatisfaction over how much celebrities make in general or their dissatisfaction over how much it is compared to how much they make. regardless, his finances plays no part in how much of a human he still is. no one here is claiming he's perfect but he's done a lot of good and when one chooses to focus on each person's worst fault, in this case one that hasn't even been proven, instead of looking at the big picture, any person (including anyone here) can look terrible.

regarding his sexuality, because this is clearly a topic that will not die even as many here are trying to pay their respects to the death of an ICON, please read on:

Quote:

Jackson was accused of child sexual abuse by a 13-year-old child named Jordan Chandler and his father Evan Chandler. The friendship between Jackson and Evan Chandler broke down. Sometime afterwards, Evan Chandler was tape-recorded saying amongst other things, "If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever...Michael's career will be over".A year after they had met, under the influence of a controversial sedative, Jordan Chandler told his father that Jackson had touched his penis.Evan Chandler and Jackson, represented by their legal teams, then engaged in unsuccessful negotiations to resolve the issue in a financial settlement; the negotiations were initiated by Chandler but Jackson did make several counter offers. Jordan Chandler then told a psychiatrist and later police that he and Jackson had engaged in acts of kissing, masturbation and oral sex, as well as giving a detailed description of what he alleged were the singer's genitals.

An official investigation began, with Jordan Chandler's mother adamant that there was no wrongdoing on Jackson's part. Neverland Ranch was searched; multiple children and family members denied that he was a pedophile. Jackson's image took a further turn for the worse when his older sister La Toya Jackson accused him of being a pedophile, a statement she later retracted. Jackson agreed to a 25-minute strip search, conducted at his ranch. The search was required to see if a description provided by Jordan Chandler was accurate. Doctors concluded that there were some strong similarities, but it was not a definitive match. Jackson made an emotional public statement on the events; he proclaimed his innocence, criticized what he perceived as biased media coverage and told of his strip search.

I find it hilarious when people are so self concious that they feel that anyone who has a different view than them is a idiot.

After listening to all the facts in the cases,IMO Michael was guilty of being a pedophile. Thats my opinion, thats all. Hey OJ wasnt found guilty either, many people have the opinion that he was. So IMO opinion he molested little boys and that supercedes everything else to me.

He is possibly one of the greatest musical icons ever, and for that part he will be missed. As a 35 year old I grew up in the Thriller generation and remember all that fondly. I willl always remember me and a bunch of friends being at someones house when the Thriller video came on MTV the first time and the whole house of kids and grown ups came to a complete stanstill and watched what is probably the greatest music video ever made.

Like I said though, I hope MJ has made peace with the lord for the other stuff.

The star that burns the hottest burns out the fastest.

The greatest of Jackson was because of what his family created, and the worst of Jackson was as well.

Elvis was big, but Jackson was bigger. It's just too bad that all the pedophilia and insane emotional problems stem from a kid who never got to be one. I'm sure there were days when he'd trade all the fame and fortune in for just a normal childhood followed by a normal life.

I didn't care for Jackson, but did like a few of his songs. There were a lot of good memories associated with the times when many of his songs came out. Those memories now seem so long ago......

i just can't stand when people pile on a guy or play the "who cares" card when someone famous die...

or the "people die everyday" card...

i've heard it all last night and this morning...

the man impacted a ton of people across the world with his music. he obviously had some problems, but the man has influenced millions and millions of people.

if you don't care that he's dead, then don't say anything. no reason to pile on someone who just died.

Be careful when you say things like that...they usually come back to bite you in the ass.

He didn't kill anybody, and it has yet to be proven that he actually is GUILTY of a crime...accused means nothing.

I could accuse you of being a lot of things. At this point, none of them is being a respectful and compassionate human being. I may be wrong about that. But all evidence, as I see it, points to just that.

You shouldn't wish death upon anyone that's not guilty of murder.

Nowhere did I say anything about wishing him dead. I am just saying that now that he is dead I am not going to just ignore the fact that he was a child molestor. Or at least in my view he was. The fact that the guy has passed does not change that.
