Actually I was a little surprised he had the proceedure done at CC.

The Cleveland Clinic is one of the finest hostpitals in the world, they saved my life, and I do not like when people incinuate that they are a [censored] poor hospital.

I'm glad you're with up, BpG... I wasn't dissing the clinic, I'm aware of its reputation for being one of the finest hospitals in the world. I was just surprised that he ended up having the proceedure done there after his consult elsewhere, and because of the recent rash of staph infections. Hopefully his decision means the problem has been contained, delt with or found to be a non-issue.

Just curious on what you mean by this? What has he done to the fans? During training camp I was able to get his autograph, he even made a little small talk with me about his new tattoo when I asked him about it.

Your one of the few. He has a bad habit of ignoring the fans, or being down right rude.

I haven't heard this, but I'm not in Cleveland... is this something you've seen at training camp or at the games?

He is without a doubt, immature,,, he does and says things that a young man might say... But there might be a reason,,,,, HE's A YOUNG MAN

If a year or so from now, he's still spouting off like this, then yea, there is a problem,,,

I believe they think the problem "might" have been locker room or field issues and not the Clinic. I have to believe the Browns facilities are a more common point of orgin to all these players than the clinic. Differerent ER/operating rooms and recovery rooms compared to same hottub, locker room, weight room and playing/practice field.

Sigh, ignorance must be bliss around here. The Cleveland Clinic has NO higher risk of staph infection than anywhere else in the world. Well over 100,000 people a year in this country contract a staph infection during or after a hospital stay. Around 30 percent of the population walk around with it every day. So, you can understand how hard it is to keep it out of wounds, etc., during hospital stays.

Hospitals are spending millions and millions to educated and try to find ways to lessen the numbers but, it is EVERYWHERE, believe me.

But then again the athletes of today go in for a lot more surgical proceedures then they ever used to.

Whatever happened to "shake it off and get back in there"?

Jules you wouldn't remember me it's been over a year that I've been gone.

I didn't say they had a higher risk of staph infection, and I'm aware that staph infection is a growing problem everywhere. But LCB, Russell, Winslow and Edwards all contracted staph infections within an 18 month period after having work done at the clinic. Winslow did get a consult according to reports. I was surprised by his decision to have the work done there, and as I said hopefully it's a good sign. And ignorance is bliss... if we knew everything we'd all go insane.

Well hopefully that will become part of his maturing process. Not to defend any bad manners, (as I alluded to, I've never seen him up close and personal) but I imagine he's had a rough go of it these past couple years, and I also imagine that certain fans have been less than kind to him in the past. Again, hopefully this thing can be put in the past and the fans & K2 can build a bond over the next few seasons. As I said before, I like the guy, I hope he has continued and growing success and I hope whatever rift exists between he and the fans can be worked through.

mol·ly·cod·dle noun, verb, -dled, -dling.
–noun 1. a man or boy who is used to being coddled; a milksop.
–verb (used with object) 2. to coddle; pamper.

I will agree with GM here. I'm a collector of Browns memorbilia, incl autographs, and Winslow is by far the most rude. The most recent experience was at a Browns fundraising function where he showed up. He knew there would be many fans there, this was no surprise. He would not sign any autographs and was especially rude to everyone. Even when the kids tried he just brushed them away.

The best part of that night was that I talked with Simon Fraser for a bit and when he saw K2 being a jerk to the kids, he said 'Winslow is such a f****in ass****.' There were 5 or so of us around talking with Simon at the time and you could just tell that some of the players do not care for him.

Bottom line is that he is in fact very rude in person. Obviously being a good TE for the Browns is most important on the field, but off the field he's not a pleasant person to the people that making sure he gets paid his millions.

By far the worst player in recent years to attempt to get an autograph from or even just chat at events where people pay a pretty penny to be there.

I don't like hearing that and I hope the kid matures to the point where he can see where his bread is buttered, especially in a city like Cleveland, where fans & players create long term bonds.

well I must be an idiot... because I own copies of the OSU national championship and I never saw KW2 say anything after the game... also I should do a better j ob of internet searching... because I had a tough time to find his rant after that game as well... found the one for after the UT game... which he apologized for...

personally I thought he was a young punk coming out of college... and then very stupidly rode his motorcycle and got hurt... after that I thought he has matured a lot this past year... and I'm very happy we have him in Cleveland. I hope his buddy Leon learns to shut his mouth more as well and starts to produce.

So it's not normal to be upset when losing a big game?

I dunno about you, but when we lost big games in high school it haunted me for days. Let alone the national championship.

I remember reading some of his after-game quotes - we lost, they didn't win. They're not that good. That sort of thing. Bitter. OSU pretty much keyed on the WRs and McGahee and then KW2 had a big game.

Funnier was his comments at the combine. This was from a radio interview with Alex Stepanovich that was linked to on the old Dawg Talk. KW2 got on an elevator that some OL were using, and they all introduced each other. When Stepanovich introdiced himself and mention he was a Buckeye KW2 made some comment like "you guys ain't ***". Step then imitated KW2's "I'm just a soldier" speech and the other OL laugh KW2 off of the elevator.

I guess I coddled some Mollys there

Very true, but Winslow had A LOT of maturing to do and STILL has a lot more to go. Unfortunately maturation is not simply based on progression of your age.

Your right its based on your experiences as a person and living. Thats why I feel Winslow has matured alot. The guy has been through alot and has worked hard to make his way back. The broken leg wasnt his fault, the motorcycle yea, but he also battled our friend staph.

Just think about it if you were evaluated on how you were in college?

I can tell you right now I look back at high school and middle school and think "WTF was I thinking?" We'll see if I say the same thing when I'm done with college.

I'll have to go back and look at the tape...

personally... I'd be more pissed if he lost and said 'oh well'.... my junior year college I ran a horrible race in our championships... I finished the race... walked off the track... told my coach to give me a minute (because he wanted to talk to me)... once I was out of sight I chucked my shoes into a field and went into a cursing tirad... then I really got pissed when I realized I had another race and had to go find my shoes

look... after a tough loss like that I would expect many of the UM players to be pissed... hell most still are because they thought they had the game won. If you don't like a guy whatever... but using him 'acting like a fool' after the toughest loss of his career is a [censored] poor reason... stick with his immature tirad after the UT game... that made me hate him and think he was immature beyond belief... but personally I think he's grown up a lot this last year.

Autumn, my dear, you can't keep holding one or two things against KW forever....at some point you have to give him a fair chance and this interview really does show a lot of maturity on his part. Just some food for thought.

Give winslow a fair chance at what? I have never once said anything about his onfield play..I think his blocking skills could improve and perhaps his route running but all in all I am happy with his play. I didn't see this tv appearance he made but I doubt that it would change my mind in anyway about how I feel about winslow the person...winslow the player is fine.
