think he says my arguement is dumb and theirs is not because, he believes that minorities should have MORE opportunities than whites.

First of all..let me say i got a lil carried away with my last post....this thread has been civil so far and i want to keep it that way...so my apologies...

And no i do NOT think minorities should have more opportunities than whites...i have never even come close to saying that in this whole thread...if anything i'm thankful for what we have right now in this country...i love America and what it is right now...

Not fitting the ratio of white to black. What he is saying is 20% black population should equate to 50+% of the positions, and if he thinks that way about the NFL then he must feel the same as for all job opportinities nation wide.

It's not about numbers man...it has never been about numbers....this isn't the 60's and we aren't fighting for the RIGHT to be equal....i'm saying i like the way things are right now in the NFL and that down the raod it will only be natural for the league to blend and even out a little more...not because i want it to...or i think it should...but i think it will happen naturally because of the players ratio has gone up over the years there is no reason to believe other positons won't go up either....

It's jus wrong to say that what we have in the NFL is it..and that should be enough for everyone thats a minority...what kind of way of thinking is that? Nobody was arguing in this thread as far as i know including me that there should be more coaches or CEOs...but if you are telling me what we have now is IT...then i cannot agree with you...

And he calls me ignorant.

So since he couldn't comprehend it the 1st time...

once again i apologize for getting carried away...

African americans should be happy they have met or exceded their quota by the numbers in the NFL.

But i don't know how one can make this sort of statement and be okay with it.......it's not about #s my friend...

I guess this will be a good time to say i HATE the rooney rule and i HATE affirmative action....i NEVER want ANYTHING in life because of my skin color...does that help you see where i'm comming from? i hope so...i'm not sitting here trying to fight with everyone because i think there should be more black owners/ GMs/ Coaches...

I like the Rooney rule, and I hate it.

I like it, because in theory it is giving an equal chance to everyone. And I hate it because, and I'll say it while most won't, every time a black coach is hired the thought crosses my mind "hmmmm, wonder if he got it cause he's black">

Now, note that I said I hated it because of that. I hate that I think that way, but...........

You won't get anything but honest opinion on here, so take that as you will.

That reminds me of an old joke shotty.

But the puch line was "No deer! Ass too high, run too fast".

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I for one appreciate that honesty and it's exactly the type of thing I was talking about earlier recognizing those thoughts that come up. It's honestly and respectfully recognizing and discussing just such thoughts that bring help to change things for the better.
