Trying to make this a realistic game, so I'm going to lay down some rules...

Here are the rules:

1. All games will an "unranked" game. 5 min. quarters. Skill level- All-Pro

2. No "unrealistic" substitutions. For example you cannot put a WR at TE. You cannot put a RB at QB, etc. You can, however, use guys like Josh Cribbs or Pat White, on occasion at QB.

3. Can only go for it on 4th down, when it is realistic. (I'm leaving this up to you guys to figure out what is realistic).

4. In the event of a disconnect- Must re-start game as close to the point of the disconnect as possible. For example. If Team A has the ball in the 4th quarter with 2 min. to go and there is a disconnect. Then re-start the game, Put on 2 min. quarters, Team A gets ball.

If anyone feels they played a game where their opponent broke one of the rules, they can let me know, and tell me the exact situation, and I will look into it.

I will start the league with as little as 8 teams. And won't take more than 16.

Question:

Do you guys wants to mess with the online franchise (where I believe you have to play 16 game, some of which are against the computer), or do you want me to just run it offline, where everyone reports scores to me?

I'd prefer to run it offline, and have all of you just keep this thread open, and I'll post a schedule, and everyone reports scores to me, but I'll leave it up to you guys.

That sounds retarded, why wouldnt you run it online?

I heard the online franchise is just a pain, because you have to play against computer teams, the computer teams have no intelligence on trades (like you can trade Brady Quinn for Tom Brady), etc...

Yeah, I havent started one up yet, but I heard you can turn off the CPU trades, so like all you guys could trade with eachother, just not the CPU.

And yeah that kind of sucks, but not the end of the world considering last years online season mode was garbage and this really being the first year for the franchise mode online.

Yeah, I just think it would be easier to just run it with the teams we have, no trades. And just let me keep track of it. That's how I used to run leagues before they had the online franchise. I have too much time on my hands at work, anyway. It would give me something to do lol.

to me that would just suck (as a player), then you cant log on and check out the stats at your own time, what about injuries? I dont know, seems just not fun, id rather do a season against the CPU than do it that way.

That's why I'm leaving it up to everyone else. I'll do what everyone else wants to do.

top - i'd vote to use the online features. i think it shouhld end up being pretty useful and i'd imagine quite a few people are excited to try out the new stuff (i know i am). i'd have to imagine that there is some way to regulate the trades, like in fantasy where people can vote to stop a trade due to fairness issues.

I have it on my friends list. But, I haven't been on lately. Plus, I wanted it to be here for everyone in our league.

Yeah, maybe do it like in fantasy sports, you have to put the proposed trade up on dawgtalkers 1st for a vote.
